Emily's eyes were shut even when the morning sun caressed her smooth skin. She had been sleeping for fourteen hours in a row. A frown began to appear on her forehead and her eyelids moved. Jacob was engrossed in reading his book and didn't see subtle changes on Emily's face. At first, Emily opened her eyes only to see a blurred image of someone sitting beside her. She rubbed her eyes once.
It was Jacob, who seemed to be reading something much more interesting. The morning sunlight spread across his face, making his skin shine like gold. Jacob wore a full sleeve white-colored T-shirt and loose red trousers. His hair was down and this aspect made his face look delicately carved. Emily's mouth went dry at the scene in front of her, and she subconsciously licked her lips. Emily watched the elegant beauty and thought to herself about how fortunate she was to find a lover like him.
"Am I so handsome that you can't shift your gaze away from me?"
Emily was startled when she saw Jacob's lips moving. He turned toward her with a mischievous smile plastered on his face. That was when Emily came back to her senses.
She looked at him in silence.
Blood rushed to her face and the corner of her ears turned red. She lowered her eyelids. How stupid was she to stare out in the open? On second thought, this man was her husband. "If you are not handsome, how can you deserve a fairy like me?"
Jacob chuckled lightly. "You are quite confident in yourself."
To Emily, those words were a taunt rather than a sentence full of sweetness. She didn't know whether to be angry or happy after this. Emily just tilted her head and glared at him. "What? Do you think I am not beautiful?"
Her words sounded like a threat to Jacob. It was as though if Jacob's answer did not satisfy her, she would give him some severe punishment.
Unfortunately for Emily, the person in front of her was Jacob. He would always be calm and mischievous at the same time. He was not willing to turn back even after he heard the threatening voice. Instead, he cast a serious glance at her. "If it was before, my Emily would definitely be called a fairy. But now, no, I really have doubts about that..."
