When Taylor saw Louis pen his name on the operation consent forms without any hesitation, she was both grateful and joyful. However, she couldn't help asking, "Don't you feel that you should tell your family?"

Hearing this, Louis handed the documents to the doctor and said, "Thank you." Then, he turned to Taylor and said with a smile, "It's not a big deal. I don't have to tell them since I don't want them to be worried."

Yvonne hadn't been well recently, therefore he didn't want to cause her concern and aggravate her anxieties. As for his father… He wasn't sure whether his father would agree with his decision or not.

If it had not really mattered, he would definitely have told his family. But this time, he couldn't. He had to save Amy.

After hearing this, Taylor knew that Louis was resolute, and that he had already made up his mind. She decided not to voice any more objections. However, she felt that she would be more dependent on him from now on.

After all, this was the most important thing in her life, and nothing mattered except saving her daughter. At least that was how she felt now.

Seeing the guilt etched on her face, Louis teased, "But you will have to take good care of me for the next few days. So I guess that I'll have to stick with you from now on!"

Louis's mischievous expression amused Taylor, and she almost laughed out loud. Without any hesitation, she said, "Okay, okay, don't worry. I will take good care of you from now on!"

Three days later

Louise and Amy were both in the operating room. The glowing words "In Surgery" above the door made Taylor quite nervous and worried. Although this hospital was the best in Jingshi City, and the doctors performing the surgery were also the best in the world, Taylor couldn't stop worrying about them. After all, there were risks in any operation, and she feared receiving the worst news.

As time went by, her anxiety grew to monstrous proportions. After all, the two patients inside the operating room were the two most important people in her life.

She couldn't do anything now but pray for Louis and Amy.

It was really proving a torture for Taylor. Every minute and every second seemed to pass slower than usual. She felt that a century had already passed.

A few hours later, when the d

The atmosphere had become awkward. Just as they were at a loss of how to move on, Amy woke up.

"Mom..."

The faint sound of her piping voice got their attention. They immediately turned to Amy.

Almost pouncing on her with joy, Taylor held her daughter's hands and asked, "Amy, I'm here with you. How do you feel now? Do you feel any discomfort? Do you need mom to call the doctor for you?"

Amy shook her head and assured, "It's just a little bit painful. Mom, I'm still alive, right?"

Her words made Taylor's heart ache with relief. In fact, Amy had known the whole time that she had been dying. Taylor hadn't known how much her daughter loved this world, but her innocent question just now had revealed how much she treasured her young life.

Taylor nodded vigorously. "The operation was a great success. My dearest Amy, you'll be discharged from the hospital after you have recovered some more here."

Hearing this, Amy finally felt relieved. Then she heard her mom say, "Uncle Louis saved your life. You should thank him in the future, you know?"

While speaking, she gestured for Amy to look at Louis, who was partially sitting up in the bed next to hers. Amy nodded solemnly. When she was about to express her gratitude, Louis interrupted her, saying, "Amy, it was only my pleasure to have helped you. I'm so happy I could do this for you. It's the greatest reward for me that you will now live a good life from here on."

'Besides... Maybe we'll become a family in the future!' he thought happily.
