What Carlos had said devastated Nora, and she was hurt as if a knife had plunged into her heart.

Tears streamed down her cheeks, and she managed to control her sobbing, which rasped at her throat. She tightened her grip on Carlos's legs and begged, "Carlos, please, don't say that to me again. I can change anything you don't like about me. Please don't treat me this way!"

she implored him in an aggrieved tone. She had nothing but Carlos in the world. If she lost him, she would have no idea what the point of her continuing to live would be.

At this moment, she would even willingly accept sympathy from him.

However, it seemed that Carlos had no sympathy for her at all. He tried his best to pull his leg from her grip and said firmly and decisively, "Nora Mo, we are now over."

Despite his words, his voice was a little choked. After all, she had been the only one in his heart for many years. But there was no denying that he had reached this decision after careful contemplation.

Looking at the woman who was almost clutching at his feet, Carlos felt a tinge of pity for her, but he still said resolutely, "I will submit the evidence. The police will be here soon."

After saying these words, he turned to leave. But after taking only two steps, he spun back and added, "Nora Mo, behave yourself now."

Then, he left without hesitation.

Looking at the back of that man who seemed firmly determined to leave her, Nora hurriedly scrambled up and ran outside. She cried and shouted after him, "Please! Carlos, don't leave me. I will go crazy without you!"

Although Carlos heard her words, he didn't stop at all. He knew that even though he loved her, it wasn't a reason for him to tolerate her acts of violence and destruction against others. She had crossed his line again and again.

Carlos walked so fast that he vanished from her sight when Nora ran out.

Nora was so weak that she trembled and fell to the ground feebly. She buried her face in her hands and started to weep pitifully. Her mind was a mess. She only knew that everything was over and that Carlos would never forgive her. She really had nothing to live for now.

Suddenly, her mobile phone rang. Nora was startled and grabbed it, thinking that it was a message from Carlos. She

seemed that it was boring down on him with the intent to hit him. With this dark goal in mind, the driver had even driven onto the sidewalk.

Carlos's pupils dilated instantly. Judging by how fast the car was speeding towards him, he believed that he had no room to dodge or escape the path of destruction.

By the time the car was about to hit him, Carlos had mentally prepared to be run over, but something flashed in front of him suddenly. When he opened his eyes, he saw that the car had stopped.

With a loud "bang" sound, a body had been hit by the front of the car. The person was knocked over and sent spinning into the air before they heavily hit the ground.

What shocked Carlos more was that the person who had been run over was familiar to him. He knew this person so well!

After the car crashed into Nora, it swerved out and dashed off quickly before anyone present could react.

Inside another car, which was parked on the other side of the street, Darren was shocked. He narrowed his eyes and stared at the crowd surrounding the fallen Nora like an eagle.

'She stopped the car? Was this woman completely mad?' Darren thought.

Originally, he had just wanted to let his people frighten Carlos, without any intent to kill him. He had merely wanted to teach Nora a lesson, but he had not anticipated that as soon as Carlos came out of the apartment building, Nora would run out in front of the car to stop it from hitting him.

Darren really couldn't understand why she had done that...
