"Could she be one of Darren's subordinates?" In fact, Emily had woken up as soon as Lilian entered her bedroom. To be more exact, she hadn't been sleeping soundly at all.

Tim had mistakenly believed that his injection would work to sedate Emily. As a matter of fact, the drug did help calm her down, but it had no effect in helping her sleep peacefully.

Jacob remained quiet. Seeing that Emily wanted to sit up, he helped her up first. When he looked at her pale face, his heart ached for her, but he did not know how to express his concern for her.

Emily pointed to the desk and continued, "She kept searching through your things."

"She must have been searching for the document concerning Darren's arrest. I have spread intentional rumors outside recently. Darren must have decided to take some action!" Jacob said, stroking Emily's soft locks of hair. "But I happened to disturb the maid's plans today, so she will not dare to be so presumptuous again. We shall keep an eye on her!"

"Shouldn't we fire her? She is a dangerous person to have here..." The thought that someone had violated the privacy of her room by rummaging through her things terrified Emily.

Jacob shook his head. "She is here, and we know that. If we fire her, Darren would just plant a second spy in our house. It's better to keep her in sight and arrange a good show for Darren."

Jacob made light of the matter on purpose, as he was afraid that Emily would become worried.

In fact, Darren was always wangling in the dark. This distressed both Jacob and Chuck.

Obviously, Jacob had acted in haste by spreading the news.

However, he could not have predicted that his reckless move would almost put Emily in danger again.

While Jacob and Emily were discussing Darren, the butler suddenly knocked on the door and entered. "Young Master, there are business associates to deal with now. They are waiting for you downstairs."

Jacob couldn't help frowning. He looked at Emily and pinched her thin face. "I'll go to work first, and take you out for dinner later tonight, okay?"

"Look at me. Do you think I can go out? Go deal with your business first. I am fine, and I am well pleased as long as you are safe." Emily's voice still sounded a little weak, and Jacob stared at her without blinking at all. She felt uncomfortable under his gaze. She lay down immediately, covered herself with the quilt, and turned over before she added, "I'm going to get some sleep. Go and deal with your business!"

Jacob nodded and followed the butler out of the room.

Although Emily had been exhausted recently, she was no

ience since this medicine doesn't work immediately, these pills can help lengthen the time between headaches. With continued use, you may only get a headache once a year."

"Really?" Emily's eyes brightened and were finally filled with hope.

"Yes. I went abroad this time for the sole purpose of studying medicines and searching for something that would be helpful for alleviating your symptoms, but you should also do your part. Don't always stay at home. Instead, you ought to go out and do things that make you happy!" Taylor spoke openly to Emily. After that, she held Emily's hand and added, "Don't worry. Dr. Guo is a highly skilled professional. He is better than me at hypnosis. If you trust me and cooperate with Dr. Guo's treatment, you will recuperate within a month."

"Really?" Emily was so excited that she could only find this one word to express her joy.

She hoped to confirm with Taylor if she could really recover so soon. Finally, Emily saw light at the end of the dark tunnel that her life had become, and she would, at last, be able to live happily together with Jacob.

"It's the absolute truth, but you have to follow our recommendations. You have to cooperate with any treatment, and..." Casting a glance at Louis, Taylor continued, "You need to take good care of this dog. Feed it and take it out for a walk every day. Go and run with your dog when it's necessary to get some exercise."

Not wanting to let the cat out of the bag, Taylor had secretly planned to treat Emily by distracting her focus from herself.

Headaches, in essence, were caused by neurasthenia. If Emily focused all her energy on her depression, even God could not save her.

Of course, Taylor didn't say any of this out loud.
