"Emily," Taylor called out even before she entered the front door.

When she heard Taylor's voice, Emily was curled up and busy reading on the sofa in the living room.

She put down the book in her hand, uncurled lazily like a cat, and stood up to welcome Taylor.

Taylor followed Emily through to the living room, and they both sat on the sofa. As soon as she looked up, she noticed the book on the coffee table.

"Have you been reading recently?" Taylor asked, burning with curiosity.

Following her gaze, Emily also looked at the book. "Well, I was bored, being all alone at home, and I had nothing to do, so I found a book to read. You know, to kill time."

With Taylor, Emily could never hide her true feelings. Even if she feigned happiness, Taylor would see through her facade with a mere glance.

Taylor could always see right through her as if she was made of glass, so she had already decided not to pretend with her. It would be much easier for both of them if she didn't.

Taylor nodded with a smile. "Not bad. It's a good thing to be interested in reading again, but...". . . . . Taylor frowned, wanting to say something more but thought better of it and kept quiet before adding, "However, I suggest you read more optimistic books. This book is too pessimistic. You'd better avoid reading too much along those lines."

Taylor worded her suggestion euphemistically.

Emily's mental state was going through a sensitive period now, and reading this kind of book could only aggravate her condition.

"What brings you here today?" Emily didn't want to heed her advice and changed the topic instead.

Seeing her intention, Taylor heaved a helpless mental sigh. She could do nothing more to help Emily. She couldn't force her to read another book!

If she really did so, Emily might become distrustful of her in the future. Besides, it was difficult for Emily to find something that interested her, and the damage to her would be irreversible!

After weighing up the pros and cons, Taylor decided to let it slide.

"I have found a way to help you break through your mental barrier! If you can break through the mental barrier, you will soon make a full recovery!" Gazing sincerely into Emily's bright eyes, Taylor seemed to be telling her, "Trust me!"

T

is shoes at the vestibule. He was looking unhappily at Taylor, disgust evident in his eyes!

He clearly meant to let Taylor know how much he disliked her idea.

It was none other than Jacob, who had just returned from work.

When Taylor had been discussing this plan with Emily, she had predicted Jacob's reaction already.

Therefore, she didn't feel greatly embarrassed.

She decided to keep silent and left it up to the couple to talk it over among themselves.

"This therapy is absolutely not acceptable. Find another way!" As soon as Jacob arrived home from work, he had heard Taylor explain how Emily would face the source of her emotional discord every day. Naturally, he immediately flew into a fit of rage.

His tone was cold and commanding, making the women unconsciously want to surrender to his wishes.

The way he had stared at Taylor was the same way he would have stared at his enemy.

"Taylor, are there any other ways?" Seeing that the atmosphere was growing more and more tense, Emily quickly spoke to ease the tensions.

Taylor knew that Emily was trying to keep the peace, but she still continued, "This is the most effective way for the time being. The other methods would only provide temporary relief."

She didn't want to put Emily through such a painful process either since she also felt sorry for Emily. But this was the best way she could think of.

"No way!" Even so, Jacob didn't want Emily to face people who she didn't have the courage to face. And to do so every day...
