The words "Mr. Ray" coming from Emily's mouth made Jacob feel so giddy he raised an eyebrow at Ray like a proud child.
"Fine." Ray slightly furrowed his eyebrows and quickly hid his sadness as he replied to Emily in a low voice.
Ray understood what Emily had meant but he thought it would be fine after he explained everything to her. 'Emily might have misunderstood me but I am certain that she does not dislike me. Why else would she help me so much with the matter concerning Dina?' Ray comforted himself.
Emily took out a pile of papers, all of which were contracts she had signed previously with Ray. Then, she took out a new contract and placed it in front of him.
"Mr. Ray, on behalf of our company, I have signed this contract and I hope that you will sign your name here as well. After all, it is us, SL Jewelry, who violated the contract. Therefore, you can ask whatever you want as compensation and we will try our best to meet your needs," said Emily.
Ray threw a glance at the contract and felt as though something had drained the soul from his body.
'Rescinding the contract?
Why would Emily want to rescind the contract?
I have already put Dina's scandalous episode behind me. I have nothing to do with Dina anymore. Moreover, if anything, that scandalous news brought me more publicity than I had before. I do not see why SL Jewelry would want to rescind its contract with me now!
Perhaps Jacob has a hand in this?'
Ray's eyes shifted towards Jacob and cast him a deadly glare.
"Mr. Ray, I hope you do not misunderstand me. This has nothing to do with Jacob. This decision is solely based on my wishes."
Emily's cold voice entered Ray's mind from one ear and got out the other, leaving behind a devastation inside him like never before. It was as if he was a complete stranger to her and they were talking for the first time.

"Please promise me that you will not retaliate against Ray or do anything to harm his career."
In spite of everything that had happened, Ray had helped Emily when she had needed it. Since they no longer owed each other anything, Emily did not want Jacob to harm Ray because of her.
"Okay, I promise you. But don't you think we should order some food now?"
Jacob granted her wish without hesitation.
"So, what do you want to eat?" Emily asked as she waved her hand at the waiter.
"I do not want eat here. A certain someone left a bad vibe in here!"
Jacob spoke conceitedly just the way Beryl would speak and looked at Emily with an aggrieved expression. Of course, Emily knew that Jacob was actually referring to Ray.
'Oh my God! Jacob, are you jealous again?' Emily could not help rolling her eyes.
She reached out to squeeze his cheek and said, "Fine, fine. So, where would you like to go and what would you like to eat, my darling?"
"You." Leaning towards Emily, Jacob whispered and then gently bit her ear.
"Jacob! We are in a restaurant!"
Emily lowered her head to cover her blushing face as she scolded Jacob in a low voice.
Jacob, however, could not keep his hands to himself any longer so he quickly grabbed Emily and stepped out of the restaurant with her.
"Jacob! Where on earth are you taking me?"
Emily buried her face in Jacob's chest out of embarrassment and complained in a low voice.
"I am taking you home."
