“Keep your head down.”

Merson was sleepy, so he closed his eyes and bowed his head in front of me. Even if everyone was annoyed, had worked hard and came out unnecessarily early in the morning, shouldn’t we show a little bit of politeness?

I rubbed my hands and touched the head to get rid of the magpie’s nest-like messy hair. Merson asked for more touches with a ‘hmm-’ sound as if he was in a good mood. And as I was smoothing the clothes and fastening the buttons properly, I heard a loud noise nearby.

“It’s Chenin’s carriage!”

It was the village chief. The village chief greeted the carriage, jumping like a child.

Without releasing the button, I turned my head to look at the entrance to the village. Hoo- Isn’t that flashy?

The two horses made a loud noise and walked briskly. The neat exterior walls of burgundy were adorned with dazzling gold decorations.

Is she interested in suicide? At that level, it was perfect for being the number one target for bandits.

“I’m glad we’re in the countryside.”

In the center of the carriage, there was a large ornament of a bear holding a sword between its ugly teeth. Maybe it’s the family coat of arms. In the modern era, like a license plate?

The carriage arrived in front of the villagers in an instant. The coachman calmed the horses by making a “whoo!” sound. The village chief gently clasped his hands and waited for his granddaughter to come down.

And… waiting… waiting again.

“What, is the door broken?”

Aunt Aja threw a word. The village chief was bewildered for a moment, then knocked on the door of the carriage, and as if it was waiting, the window opened. Narrow enough for two fingers to barely fit in.

“Hello. My legs hurt from coming a long way. I want to go home first, Grandfather.”

“Right, right, hurry up and go rest. I left the door open.”

Tak.

The window closed and the carriage departed. All the villagers shook their heads, swearing more severely than anyone else with their facial expression. Fucking hell?! Have you ever seen such a spoiled kid!

It was the same for me. Someone told him that his granddaughter was coming, so he prepared for a grand reception, but what huh? Her legs hurt from coming a long way?! Is that what a person who rides a carriage all day would say?!

As I made a fuss, Merson’s expression worsened.

“Did she offend Erina? Should I kill her?”

“No, the chief will be sad. Then I will be sad too.”

“…….”

We turned back and headed to the village chief’s house.

When I opened the door, an out-of-place golden chair caught my eye. Even looking at it hurt my eyes.

In that chair, Chenin sat proudly cross-legged, flaunting her lace gloves and covering her nose with a fan.

“Long time no see.”

“Did you eat properly?”

“Of course.”

“Ahh. Baby, I have something to give you. Here. I stayed up all night to make it. Do you like it?”

The village chief pulled out a plain light blue dress with a pink floral pattern on the bottom of the skirt. The waist line was narrow and the fit that fell softly was pretty even when I looked at it.

“Lame.”

Crack–

There was a sound of a bone dislocating from somewhere. I’m sure it was Aunt Aja……. The village chief could not hide his bewildered face and pushed the dress closer.

“Look closely then say it. It’s pretty.”

“Take it away. I’m tired, so I’ll sleep. Ya-wn-, I woke up too early to be here.”

Chenin walked to the door with the tap-tap sound of her shoes.

The eyes staring at the back of Chenin’s head were unusual. Ack, hot! this… A fiery rage was gushing out of my eyes.

“Kyaaaakk!”

The village chief was startled by the sudden scream and ran to the room.

“Baby, what happened…….”

“What is with this room? Even if it’s bad, it’s too bad! Look at me and then look at this room! You want me to sleep in a place like this?! What is this weird teddy bear?!”

Chenin picked it up and threw it to the floor. Oh, that’s what our Merson chose after careful thought… If you don’t want it, give it to me!

“Don’t throw it.”

“Merson?”

Before I knew it, he strode over to Chenin’s side and picked up the teddy bear again.

“What?!”

Chenin, upset by the restraining voice, raised her voice to the utmost. Oh I know this, I’ve seen it a lot in historical dramas.

“And put on this dress too.”

Merson took the clothes from the village chief and shoved them in front of Chenin. Although it was a short period of time, perhaps because of Merson’s simple personality, he had to give Chenin a slap in the face just by looking at her behavior. But…….

“… I was going to wear it.”

What?

Chenin shyly accepted the clothes. Hey, why is your face red? Then she couldn’t take her eyes off Merson.
