Ch129 - Little Liar

Misfortune struck in an instant, and there were bursts of exclamations in the live stream room.

[Fuck, the God of Death didn’t follow him in at all! ]

[That’s not right, I just changed the video view and saw that he was in, why did he suddenly appear at the entrance again? ]

[Sisters upstairs, maybe we all saw it wrong… The black fog behind the God of Death is too big, and the camera in the live stream room follows the Magician, it’s normal to mistake things]

[Does this mean that the Magician’s every move is actually within the expectations of the Ghost King? Mama, even if this God of Death is strong, how good is his brain? But the other trainees are very lucky, after all, he is only chasing after the Magician, dog head.jpg]

In a flash, Zong Jiu suddenly figured out everything.

When he was in the mirror house, he could still see the reflection of the black hood on the mirror surface at first, then these images were covered by the black mist that was constantly pouring out of the cloak of the God of Death, covering all the mirror surfaces tightly until he couldn’t see an inch.

But because the sickle had been knocking on the mirrors, Zong Jiu didn’t care too much, relying on the sound of the mirror breaking.

This lead to a problem, which was…

The God of Death didn’t necessarily need to hold the sickle, it could completely let the sickle fly out and hit the glass elsewhere.

Then it stayed at the entrance, waiting for the lost lamb to throw himself into the net.

Just like now.

The God of Death opened his arms, and there was a wicked surprise in his low, playful voice.

“Oh? Are you so eager for an embrace?”

The two-meter-high hood suddenly cracked open, and the darkness and the abyss opened its fangs to the pure lamb.

From the perspective of bystanders and the live stream room, it appeared that the white-haired young man was swallowed whole.

This voice was so damn familiar, but unfortunately he didn’t know what permissions the other party had used, the survivors in the live stream room couldn’t hear it at all. Only Zong Jiu heard it.

After swallowing the Magician, the scythe was lifted up by the black mist and respectfully returned to the God of Death.

And the hooded cloak just stood still for a few seconds, then began to glide again. Death, who had just captured his prey, seemed to be in a very good mood as it went toward the deeper darkness like a king patrolling his own territory.

The trainees who dared to watch from afar were heartbroken.

“It’s over, the Magician’s luck was really bad this time.”

“It’s all been dragged into the cloak. You all saw the black fog just now. If someone touches a little bit of it, they’d just turn into corpse water.”

“Let’s go quickly, an A-rank trainee can’t even fight against the Ghost King, if we get targeted we’d just…”

Speaking to this point, everyone who understood already knew.

[Did the Magician’s car overturn?]

[Yes, his live stream room is completely dark, either blocked or… um, you know, it only happens when things go wrong]

[Woo woo woo no! Among all the trainees, I like the Magician the most! I’m genuinely optimistic that he can ascend to the S-rank throne! I’m broken!]

So no one saw that a strong arm picked up the white-haired young man by the waist, an icy chest was pressed against his back, the aura wrapped around the back of his ears, making him tremble unconsciously.

Although Zong Jiu is about 1.8 meters tall, he was now locked in a huge two-meter-tall cloak like a chicken caught by an eagle. Not only was he dozens of centimeters off the ground, he couldn’t even struggle, only able to be held tightly in the Devil’s arms.

But there was no need to struggle, he still had a secret ace in hole in his hand.

Zong Jiu stopped, let the other party maintain this position, and asked coldly, “What are you doing?”

The man chuckled, casually embraced the Magician’s waist, adjusted him to a better position against his chest, and manipulated the cloak to fly forward.

The God of Death’s cloak was large enough to hide several people inside and the black fog surrounding it was thick. No one would be able to notice the unusual signs that the Magician had long been held hostage.

A low voice sounded in the narrow and confined space, rumbling right by his pinna.

Like red wine pouring into a decanter, the subtle and fragrant breath slowly dissipated, the back was closely pressed to the chest.

“It’s been so long since the last instance ended, but you still haven’t given me an answer.”

The hoarse voice surrounded Zong Jiu like a snake spitting venom. The huge cloak seemed to have noise-cancelation. There was only a thin layer of cloak, but there seemed to be a thick layer of frosted glass separating the outside world.

“The key had already been delivered, but nobody has yet to come see me. It makes me really sad.”

The Devil’s tone was regretful, “It’s a pity that our famous celebrity Magician who’s been in the limelight recently forgot about this, so I had to take time out of my busy schedule to come out in person to show my sincerity.”

What the key refered to, the two people present naturally knew well.

Before the First High School instance, No. 1 made a special trip to the Magician’s room by stepping through the shadows. The result was, there was no result to their fight, instead, he was stuffed with a black S-rank room card, clearly implying that Zong Jiu could go to the Devil at any time at his discretion.

Ultimately, the invitation was not answered.

Zong Jiu had already made plans in his heart, but it was absolutely impossible for him to directly answer him.

So he avoided the situation and snorted softly, “Chasing me in the amusement park for three hours, is this your so-called sincerity?”

The cold gloves slowly rubbed the back of the young man’s neck, stroking the long hair hanging down from the back of his head and playing with it.

He didn’t know if it was for the sake of playing this God of Death better, the Devil specially changed a pair of new gloves.

Previously, his gloves were white, they were the sacred symbol of medieval European knights, and it was obviously worn in irony. But now, he changed into a pair of pure black tactical half-finger leather gloves. They carelessly slid across the aorta, feeling the fresh breath of life.

No. 1 liked doing this because he loved the living more than the dead.

Maybe add a qualifier in front of this, limited to the Magician.

For some reason, now, the Devil didn’t want to know the answer.

Because the answer didn’t matter.

But that didn’t stop him from teasing the other wickedly, “So what’s your answer?”

Saying that, the man moved suggestively to the side of the young man’s face. His dark golden eyes flashed with unidentified light.

The trainees outside didn’t know what was going on inside the cloak. They only knew that the Ghost King seemed to be in a much better mood after eating the Magician. Even the arc around the cloak was higher, and he didn’t choose a next target to hunt.

All living and dead creatures shied away from this scythe-wielding Grim Reaper.

It’s here.

Zong Jiu was unmoved and stable on the surface, even if he was carried and flown around in the air, he did not show any signs of timidity.

He pondered for a while, pretending to be considering, and finally answered, “Then I agree.”

The surging black mist seemed to stand still for a moment because of his understated answer.

Immediately after that, the man couldn’t stop laughing from the depths of his throat, starting from his chest, and finally shaking with the young man in his arms.

This laughter is not lacking in malice, but more of a pleasant surprise.

“What are you laughing at?” Zong Jiu asked calmly, “Don’t you just want an answer?”

The Devil didn’t answer. Instead he pressed his entire body toward him like a boneless mollusk.

His body was surprisingly cold, which made Zong Jiu, who was born with a warm body temperature, very uncomfortable. He just wanted to move his body and stay away from this lunatic.

After laughing enough, the Devil finally spoke.

“Little liar.” His tone was ambiguous, masking the unknown danger beneath.

“Look.” The Magician was unmoved, but spread out his hands, “You want an answer, but you don’t want to believe me, then the answer is obviously not that important to you.”

It was risky to point this out directly, but Zong Jiu really knew the Devil too well.

The thrill of being an accomplice was far less interesting than being a rival.

And a lunatic didn’t need an accomplice, he just needed an opponent.

So the accomplice would die, but the arch enemy might not.

The man narrowed his eyes and did not answer his words.

Instead, Zong Jiu took the initiative to go further, “Why don’t we do this, let’s make a bet.”

It was a little uncomfortable to be held in such a way. Zong Jiu felt that his legs had been off the ground for too long, and it was extremely uncomfortable to dangle as such.

In the distance, the system had announced that it did not know the number of safe houses. All sounds were hazy except for the rustling of the cloak fluttering in the air.

There weren’t any ghosts who blindly dared to come and make trouble in front of the God of Death, and at the same time, it also prevented Zong Jiu from trying to escape.

He could only think of a way by himself, such as saying a few words to save himself from this extremely awkward situation.

Sure enough, the Devil’s interest was aroused, “Oh?”

“I’ll give you an answer before the Halloween event closes.”

Zong Jiu spoke very fast, with many gentle words, “Not necessarily satisfactory, but it should be a surprise.”

Whether it would be a surprise or not, Zong Jiu didn’t know, but as long as he could unplug the string from No. 2’s head, it would be the biggest surprise for No. 1.

So he closed his eyes and started to write a bad check, otherwise he would be buckled in the cloak, only able to listen to the system reporting the safe house round by round. Although he didn’t have to run anymore, he couldn’t complete the task.

Hearing this, No. 1 wasn’t too interested, “That would be too boring.”

Zong Jiu understood, “Then what kind of bet are you talking about.”

“How about this,” the Devil’s eyes were filled with a bit of playfulness, “If you can complete the last hour of special customs clearance…”

“Before your puppet?”

“Yes, before my puppet.”

No. 1 slowly stretched out his finger and gently pressed it against the lips of the white-haired young man from behind, raising a rare eagerness to try.

The Magician opened his mouth, and his lips brushed uncontrollably over the strangely tactile black glove.

That touch, which was different from the other’s icy body, penetrated through the fabric and ignited a prairie flame.

The fighting spirit rose in the dark and narrow space, and the breathing between each other was clearly audible.

“Deal.”
