Zong Jiu was in a good mood.

At least he was on the way back, just as happy as the last time he kicked the Devil down in the underworld.

The S-rank elevator could go directly to any floor.

So Zong Jiu rode it down from the seventh floor to the fifth floor and went straight back to his room.

When he walked through the executive lounge, there were several B-ranks who were drinking tea and chatting who looked over with some doubts in their eyes.

“Is there such a B-rank person? Wearing those sunglasses, he looks kind of familiar.”

The other person glanced at him and said indifferently, “Who knows, lots of people are unrecognizable with a change of clothing. There are nearly a thousand B-ranked people. Do you remember all of them?”

“Otherwise? You forgot that I strengthened my memory function?”

The person who first asked the question took the lead to withdraw his gaze, “Forget it, there are people with all kinds of quirks in the trainee dormitories in all directions. Come on, don’t keep looking and continue to play chess.”

Zong Jiu opened his door.

His room was also huge.

B-rank trainees lived in executive suites, which was only one floor less than the A-rank presidential double-decker suites.

Because he was too lazy to decorate, Zong Jiu directly chose a template in the system and picked the one that was the most pleasing to the eye. The theme was a cool Nordic style with interlacing blue, white and gray. The sofa was made of handwoven fabric, an off-white woolen blanket was spread on the ground and a complimentary chubby British shorthair blue-white was curled up on it, sleeping.

The other side of the suite was full of large floor-to-ceiling glass windows, which simulated a snow-covered scene where huge pine trees were layered in snow. There was a fireplace in the room separated by a window, and bright flames leaped on the brown firewood. The room was as warm as spring and summer.

If this was not a serial game that might kill at any time, many people would probably be willing to spend the rest of their lives in this dormitory.

With that in mind, Zong Jiu turned on the wall lamp at the entrance, threw the stolen clothes on the ground, and lowered his head to change his slippers.

Just when the white-haired young man bent his waist and was about to step into his slippers to sleep for a while, he suddenly realized something was wrong.

A very uncomfortable line of sight.

Like some kind of icy reptile, it slipped sticky and wanton from the bridge of his nose to his adam’s apple, and finally wandered along the wrists that were exposed when he raised his hands. It felt like clustered bits of dark fire beneath an icy abyss.

So damn familiar.

Zong Jiu suddenly looked up.

At the end of the entryway, a man was leaning against the wall, his fingers fluttering and jumping. Through the firelight of the fireplace, he could see the icy threads staggered and twisted on his slender fingers without white gloves, which also illuminated the ugly, crisscrossing scars on his fingers.

Seeing that he finally realized it, the Devil gave a half-smile, “See you around?”

Zong Jiu: “…”

He was not stupid, he realized the key point of it all in a flash.

Zong Jiu was still wondering what No. 1 meant when he said “see you around”, and it was bold enough to actually mean “seeing if you turn around“.

Zong Jiu silently glanced at the black suit at his feet from the corner of his eye and kicked it into the traceless darkness behind him.

If he was caught, then he was caught. Either way, he wasn’t the one embarrassed about it.

So Zong Jiu cleared his throat and retorted, “Even if you’re the instructor, it’s illegal to break into someone’s house without permission.”

They were now in the trainee dormitories, not to mention that they couldn’t kill each other here, they had never fought head-to-head even in instances. By knowing this, he would just act as a dead pig not fearing boiling water.

Of course, having said that, Zong Jiu started to step back quietly, and his fingers hidden in the shadows grabbed his cards, ready for possible changes at any time.

“Oh? Who broke into someone’s house first?”

The man’s tone was slow and soft, but there was an oppression that could not be ignored.

He walked towards the white-haired young man step by step, and every step seemed to land on the tip of a knife.

Although there was a smile on the Devil’s face, who knew when this lunatic would suddenly explode and send puppet strings down his throat.

Zong Jiu narrowed his eyes.

The next moment, without warning, the white-haired young man moved his fingers.

The grinning joker card led the king of spades piercing through the air.

The edges of the cold white poker cards gleamed with undisguised murderous aura and momentum. They flew unstoppably towards the vague silhouette in the dark.

The Devil turned his head lightly and a strand of wet black hair was sliced off.

The two cards flew just past his cheek and sunk deeply into the darkness behind the entrance in a straight trajectory.

Boom.

With a bang, a crack appeared in the middle of the huge glass window and a concentric circle instantly spread out.

It was enough to see how terrifying the power attached to the small cards was.

The cat who was dreaming was startled by the loud noise and arched it back with fear.

Unlike the cat, Zong Jiu now couldn’t move, and even the wrist he just raised was held in place by invisible strings.

He was forced by a powerful energy to the edge of the entryway, the cold and heavy door panel behind him. Thousands of invisible threads trapped him firmly at the edge of the narrow hallway.

Thanks to this series of actions, the switch that was just turned on was turned off again.

The entryway, which was somewhat bright, once again plunged into darkness.

In the whole room, there was only the jumping fire of the fireplace. It flickered behind the Devil, coating his outline with a ferocious and ominous halo as if he was stepping out of hellfire. There was also a crazed curve to his mouth.

The dark shadow enveloped the white-haired young man’s head, twisting and swallowing him.

They were only one step away.

The man was only wearing a loose pure black bathrobe, tied carelessly at his slim waist, his chest was exposed, revealing pale chest muscles.

Maybe it was because of the recent bath, water vapor rose in the warm room and turned into a white mist along the end of his hair and disappeared in the air.

This scene should have been pleasing to the eye, but in the eyes of Zong Jiu, the destined enemy, it became very hateful.

If he hadn’t been trapped by the puppet threads, he would have punched him in the face.

A hand pressed against the wall beside the young man.

The cold and dangerous aura surrounded Zong Jiu tightly, filled with invisible sharp and bloody air, which made people breathless.

Right after, before the young man could react, the brown curly wig on his head was picked off by a silk thread along with the sunglasses covering most of his face. They fell off and rolled onto the wrinkled suit on the ground.

Facing Zong Jiu’s icy eyes, the Devil’s smile grew deeper and there was a playful light in his eyes.

That pair of horribly scarred fingers gently pinched a strand of white hair that fell, and slowly rubbed the fingertips.

“Gentleman on a beam, taking without asking. That’s not a good habit, hm?”

The back of Zong Jiu’s head was pressed against the door panel and when he looked up, he could only see the unintelligible smile on the corner of No. 1’s lips.

He raised his eyebrows and sneered, “Something that’s given out, why can’t it be called back?

“To give something out only to have your own puppet retrieve it, isn’t that truly a bad habit?”

For some reason, seeing the young man’s appearance of not knowing his limits, the Devil’s desire to pierce the loopholes in his words where he reversed black and white cooled. Instead, the Devil admired the helpless look of the one before him with interest.

This scene was the same as in the coffin.

Zong Jiu’s expression was particularly unhappy, “What kind of skill is it to use puppet strings? If you have the skill, let me go. If you’re a man, just fight with me in an honorable manner.”

No. 1 silently smiled.

He was the manipulator of the puppet strings, and he naturally knew it.

The fingertips pressed to the side tensed, and the pressure on the puppet strings indicated that the young man seemed to give up struggling. But in fact Zong Jiu never considered allowing someone else to dictate his fate. The pale waist exposed under the clothes was tense, accumulating power to counterattack the Devil the moment he let his guard down.

If it was loosened, he was afraid it would end up giving him a big surprise like when he was in the coffin.

But at this moment, the Devil didn’t really want to see what new surprise Zong Jiu had prepared.

He wanted to keep this gift sealed and slowly open it when it was the most delicious.

The man casually played with his long white hair, “Are you working with No. 3?”

“So what if I am, what if I’m not?” Zong Jiu snorted.

He currently had a one-way relationship with Zhuge An, and the other party was well aware of this.

It was absolutely impossible for Zong Jiu to put down his guard and cooperate with others. He had always lacked the most basic trust towards others, which applied to everyone.

Of course, it was unnecessary to tell this to No. 1.

“Hmph, but a hypocrite who deceives the world and ruins reputations.”

It was clear that the Devil had a pretty bad impression of Zhuge An.

Ohho, there was drama.

Zong Jiu appeared to be calm on the surface, but in fact, he had already started thinking of all kinds of information and news.

However, after saying this, No. 1 seemed to know exactly what he was thinking, and the conversation changed.

“Since you choose to cooperate with him, why don’t you want to think about another possibility of the prophecy?”

“Not interested.”

The two pairs of eyes stared at each other, neither backing down.

Dark golden eyes curled happily.

The man suddenly lowered his head, the ends of damp hair swept across the back of the young man’s shoulders, tingling and itching.

A hard foreign object was suddenly shoved into Zong Jiu’s chest and he could clearly feel it hang down through the thin clothes.

“I hope you change your mind.” The Devil lowered his voice and said with a smile as he watched the young man’s ear tremble.

“But, if you want to come next time, you are welcome to go through the front door.”

All the power restraining him suddenly loosened.

Zong Jiu’s tense body recovered.

He didn’t see exactly how the Devil left, only seeing the other party walking directly into the shadow in the corner of the entrance before his figure melted away.

No. 1’s most famous ability was indeed puppeteering, but if there was only that, he would not be placed on a pedestal by all the survivors. At least Zong Jiu was shaken by the show of shuttling through the shadows just now.

Under the dim light of the fireplace, Zong Jiu realized that a cold sweat had already covered his back.

After standing there for a while, he reached out and took out what the Devil had just stuffed into his jacket pocket.

A pure black S-rank room card.
