67 Full Marks for the Test

Li Chengqian found his seat based on the serial number on his competition pass.

The computer used for the exam had already been turned on. A countdown timer on the screen has been activated.

“12 minutes and 54 seconds to the theory exam…”

Behind the translucent countdown timer, the relevant information of this paper was displayed.

After the countdown ended, he had to enter his name, ID card, serial number, and other relevant information. He also had to undergo facial recognition before the exam could officially begin.

Above the competition hall, there were cameras that covered the entire hall, there wasn’t any spot that wasn’t reached.

With all these measures in place, there was no chance of anyone cheating.

Soon, the countdown ended.

After Li Chengqian entered his personal information, the test questions for the preliminary round of the Junior Informatics Programming Competition appeared in front of him.

“1. After a computer is powered up, which component is the first to be activated?”

“A. CPU, B. Memory, C. Hard drive, D. BIOS.”

“F*ck, what kind of question is this?” When everyone saw the first question, most of them were dumbfounded. They racked their brains but couldn’t find any relevant knowledge.

“It’s so difficult!”

“Who set this question? F*ck, the question is beyond the scope.” A wail came from the competition hall.

“Quiet, quiet! If I find out who’s talking again, I’ll send him out immediately, and he will be marked with a zero score.” The invigilator looked around the competition hall and shouted coldly.

Instantly, there was silence in the competition hall. Everyone scratched their heads, thinking hard.

Li Chengqian took a look at the question and smiled. He chose D straight away. This question was easy.

After he answered the first question, the second question and the corresponding list of answers were displayed.

Li Chengqian took a glance. It was also a very basic question, so he chose the answer straight away.

There were 50 multiple-choice questions in this test. Li Chengqian completed all the multiple-choice questions at a speed of three seconds per question. It took him about three minutes.

While the other examinees were still racking their brains over the third multiple-choice question, Li Chengqian had already started solving the True/False question.

He finished all 10 True/False questions within a minute.

There were 10 fill-in-the-blank questions. As he needed to type in the answers, it took him a while, and he used two minutes.

Li Chengqian then took 15 minutes to answer the last three subjective questions.

After typing the last code, Li Chengqian didn’t have any intention of checking at all. He pressed the ‘submit’ button in the bottom right corner straightaway.

On the computer screen, Li Chengqian’s test results were tabulated.

“The results of your test are as follows: You took 21 minutes and completed all the questions.”

“You got 50 multiple-choice questions correct. 100% accuracy. 50 marks.”

“You got 10 True/False questions correct. 100% accuracy. 10 marks.”

“You got 10 fill-in-the-blank questions correct. 100% accuracy. 10 marks.”

“Subjective questions pending review by the examiner.”

“This test is over.”

Then, the words that had just appeared faded away. The screen of the computer was locked. In the middle of the computer screen was this message: “The paper has been submitted. This test is over.”

Li Chengqian was not surprised by the results of the test.

After his rebirth, he had been reading software and hardware books. With 19 Intelligence points as the foundation, and with the enhancement of the Focus skill, his memory, comprehension, and logical thinking abilities had greatly improved.

His understanding of software, computer hardware, operating systems, and so on had already reached an unprecedented level.

Even if the questions in the test were a hundred times harder than this, he could still score full marks.

Because he was preoccupied with the brainwave receiver, Li Chengqian raised his hand after the test ended. “Teacher, I’m done with the test. May I leave now?”

“Sure.” The invigilator glanced at Li Chengqian’s computer. After confirming that the screen showed that he had submitted his paper, he nodded expressionlessly.

He submitted his paper in 20 minutes. He clearly didn’t know how to answer the questions! He must have felt that there was no point in staying on, so he completed the test haphazardly.

“Tianyi High School, Li Chengqian!” He casually glanced at the exam information pasted on Li Chengqian’s computer and thought to himself, This Tianyi High School is definitely not a good school. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have sent such a person to the Junior Informatics Programming Competition.

Most of the examinees were still thinking hard about the multiple-choice question. When they saw Li Chengqian submit his paper leave, they said, “This brother must have simply given up.”

“Sigh, it’s too difficult. I don’t even know how to answer a single question. I really want to fill in the answers haphazardly, but I’m afraid that my teacher will beat me up.”

In another competition hall, He Hongyun’s expression was solemn, as if he was deep in thought.

“The questions this time are too difficult. Of the 30 multiple-choice questions I just did, I’m only sure about 23 questions.” He Hongyun glanced around and realized that everyone was scratching their heads too.

“If I find it difficult, the others will definitely find it even harder.” He Hongyun was very confident. “My knowledge is not inferior to university students who specialize in software technology.”

“If I can answer 23 out of 30 questions, then the others can only answer 10 questions at most, I’ll give them 15 questions tops.” He Hongyun was extremely proud and confident of his knowledge.

“I’ve seen the programming questions that Tianyi High School used for the last test. It’s not difficult. I could easily score full marks.” Then, He Hongyun thought of Li Chengqian. His heart was filled with arrogance. “It’s not a big deal that Li Chengqian scored full marks.”

“The questions this time are too difficult. If the content Li Chengqian was reviewing was the previous year’s Junior Informatics Programming Competition, he could only score 50 marks at most. He won’t even be able to get a passing score of 60 marks.”

“Luckily for me, Dad has highlighted most of the key areas for me to revise. Otherwise, I would only be able to pass.”

“That arrogant Li Chengqian. He actually took a leave of absence from my father’s lecture. He didn’t even cherish such a good opportunity.”

“I must tell him later that these questions were all knowledge points that my father highlighted.” He Hongyun’s face was filled with arrogance and pride. He was delighted just visualizing Li Chengqian being regretful.

“He must be thinking hard about the questions like everyone else.” He Hongyun imagined Li Chengqian scratching his head and he continued to do the questions happily.

“I wonder if he would still be as arrogant when he failed the test.”

“I wonder if he would still have the cheek to walk around with those ridiculous books…”

Backstage in the data center, when Li Chengqian chose to submit his paper, a notification sounded.

“Eh, it’s only been 20 minutes, and someone has already submitted his paper? His paper has even been assigned to me for review?” Shi Chengsan was one of the markers. He specialized in reviewing the subjective questions for this exam. When he heard the notification, he casually turned on the marking system on his computer.

He had just seen the questions for this test. They were very difficult!

A person who submitted the paper in 20 minutes was most likely clueless and had given up.

Therefore, he didn’t pay much attention and started to review the paper casually.

After seeing Li Chengqian’s answers, he was all eyes.

After reviewing, he found that Li Chengqian got all three subjective questions correct!

Shi Chengsan was astonished. “He got all three subjective questions correct! What a feat!”

“Moreover, he submitted his paper within 20 minutes. This person is a genius! Let me see how he did with the other questions.” Shi Chengsan was overjoyed when he saw Li Chengqian’s results for the other questions.

Multiple choice questions, full marks!

True/False questions, full marks!

Fill-in-the-blank questions, full marks!

“What an outstanding student. He actually didn’t make a single mistake and scored full marks! How is this possible?” After Shi Chengsan saw Li Chengqian’s results, he was stunned and found it unbelievable.

This was because even if he were to attempt this test, he would only be able to score 80 marks at most.

And Li Chengqian actually scored full marks!

This meant that Li Chengqian’s grasp of the basics was even more solid than a lecturer from the university’s Information Technology faculty.

“What? Someone scored full marks?” When the other teachers heard Shi Chengsan’s exclamation, they all surrounded him in disbelief.

“Look, this student called Li Chengqian only took 21 minutes for the test! In such a short period of time, he actually scored full marks. He’s really amazing!”

“Full marks, that’s awesome!”

“This is a programming genius!”

“Quick, bring up the video of his exam and see if he cheated.” Chen Lili, the supervisor of this competition, also rushed over. After understanding the situation, she immediately made arrangements.

“The Junior Informatics Programming Competition has been held for fourteen years. No one has ever scored full marks in the theory test. The highest score was 83 points, that was during the fifth year! He’s currently studying for a master’s degree at Divine Dragon University. His academic level is extremely high. He has already received an invitation to work at BAT.”

“This will be a historic moment in the Junior Informatics Programming Competition, a student who scored full marks! We must take it seriously and do proper verifications.”

“We must not leak any news about this. No one is allowed to spread it. Don’t post the results on the big screen for the time being. We’ll announce it after we have done the verifications.”

“There are still two hours until the end of the test. We have plenty of time to do these things,” Chen Lili said worriedly.
