“…” Lu Bai glared at him for quite some time. He backed off and stayed back in the group despite his eyes showing unwillingness. “Fine.”
“Thank you.” And Huo Chen dragged his feet back to his accommodation.
“What’s up with him? Asked Zhaoyang.
“Things only a man in love would understand,” said Huo Yunting as he beamed at Zhaoyang.

Huo Chen took out his phone back in his room, as he hit the stairs, and promptly contacted Song Shou, “Song Shou, I order you to perform a thorough investigation on a female dancer of Golden City with the name ‘Karina’. Anything. Name, educational background, family background, even address, previous addresses. Get them to me as soon as possible.”
“Copy.” Song Shou was puzzled by the order but he still started his inspection on the woman. And within a few hours, Huo Chen got a call.
“Sir, I have something here. Apparently this ‘Karina’ girl has an unusual relationship with the owner of Golden City. She seems to be an illegal resident. Also, all the personal information associated with Karina was shown to be somebody else according to the database under Golden City. It took me a while to get her address but she seems to be living inside an apartment near the Sakura route.”
“Mhm.” Huo Chen responded approvingly, “That’ll be enough.” He hung up, treading over an entire floor of cigarette butts as he lit a new one.
I knew it! She’s Wen He after all!
I have never doubted myself on my own judgment.
Well—The tricky part is…should I respect her opinion on this? As in, leaving her alone and let her be Karina. Let her be the free woman she always wanted to be. Let us part ways as if we never met.
At most—probably we would only be saying “hello” or “goodbye” to each other as we coincidentally meet on the street.
But will I be happy with that?
