83.2 Everyday Fulfillment

By Gandire Alea August 28, 2022

I suppose this is the outcome of diligent training.
Not good, not good.
Ceries-sama will find out at this rate.

Reluctantly, I suppress the dragon spirit I draw from the dragon vein into being as thin as possible.

Mumumu, it’s unexpectedly difficult.

Up until now, my training didn’t have any particular restraints on the volume I drew, so I had never considered limiting what I pulled out. It’s better to have it than not, after all.

But this unexpectedly might make for good training. Deliberately limiting what I draw requires more delicate handling of and deeper concentration on dragon spirit than I expected. I implement this new training method that I discovered and fall deep into my meditation.

My new training seems be a success. Not once does Ceries-sama notice anything all the way until the end of class.

Once school is finished, I head to the Dragon Forest like always.

With the souvenirs I received from Ristia’s estate in hand, I roam about the Dragon Forest with the intent of reaching the moss-covered plaza. Along the way, I run into the great wolf, magic beast. The me from around last year’s Spring would have cried out and run away, but now I am different.

The great wolf, magic beast, appearing from the front so as to not startle me, trots over and nuzzles his head against me. He’s being quite playful.

Yeah, he must want to thank me for yesterday.

I’m not at Mistral’s level yet, but recently, I too seem to have become able to understand the intentions of magical beasts. Maybe it’s an influence of the dragon heart?

I get the feeling that he wants me to ride his back, I climb onto him without any hesitation.

The great wolf, magic beast takes off, practically gliding thought the forest. Naturally, he does so without making a sound. The flowing scenery of the forest makes for quite the fun sight.

Why is that? It’s just flowing by, but it’s so much fun to watch.

I’m not the only one who thinks this. Mistral and Priscilla-chan get the same impression.

I doubt a horse going at full gallop could catch this speed.

The great wolf, magic beast, despite dashing at such a speed through a forest, avoids the trees. He bounds to the left and right, but I for some reason don’t even sway. I wonder if this too is a technique of the great wolf, magic beast, just like his silence?

While dashing about the sparse forest, we join up with the massive rabbit magic beast. Then we encounter the pair of deer magic beasts and the large hawk magic beast follows along from the sky.

Hold on a sec! Why haven’t you guys returned to Dragon’s Peak!?

Even thought the decaying dragon that appeared in Dragon’s Peak is no longer there, these magic beasts aren’t showing any sign of wanting to head back. Was all that hard work just wasted effort!?

The parade of large magic beasts runs though the forest, and once I’m sufficiently satisfied, I thank them and we separate.

Thinking about it, running around with everyone was pretty fun.

Now that I am alone, I begin to wander around the Dragon Forest. It doesn’t matter where I am in the forest. As long as I am in the Dragon Forest, I will sooner or later find my way to the moss-covered plaza.

As I stroll around, the moment I blink my surroundings change.

While many large trees can be found within the Dragon Forest, the ancient trees of the forest are the thickest and most splendid. My surroundings changed in an instant, but I’m completely used to it by now.

I breathe in clear air and walk forward. By doing that, my field of view instantly clears, and I reach the moss-covered plaza. There, I give a spirited greeting.

“Good afternoon.”
“Fumu, the scent of a new woman or such.”
“Eeeeehhhhh!!”

The moment I arrive, Old Sleigstar says something weird, making me flinch back.

“What does that mean?”
“Ah, Mistral.”

I’ve barely met with Mistral since the beginning of the year, so her being here is rare.

“No, not, ‘Ah, Mistral,’ wa. What is the meaning of what I just heard?”

“Uuh…”

Why is she giving me such a dangerous look?

“Nntto, smells sweet.”

Priscilla-chan, upon clinging to me, mentions something outrageous.

It can’t be. Yes, the twin ojou-sama had a sweet fragrance, but it shouldn’t be on me. I even properly took a bath last night.

“Who are the twin ojou-sama, nyan?”
“Darn iiiiiiit!”

There’s a dragon here who can easily read my thoughts.

“Hee, twin ojou-sama, was it?”

Gununu, a terrifying bloodlust shrouds Mistral.

“Th- that’s wrong! You’re misunderstanding!”
The twin ojou-sama were the aggressors. I’m the victim.

“Hohou, aggressors, were they? Then, how far did it go?”
“You’re wrroooooonnnnng!”

I didn’t do anything, and nothing happened. It’s all a complete misunderstanding.

“Ernea, how about we carefully discuss what happened.”

Mistral smiles as she speaks, but her eyes aren’t happy.

Sc- scary.

“Ah, candy. The sweet smell comes from this.”

Guaa, Priscilla-chan’s words were a trap. Her saying, “smells sweet,” was about the souvenirs? Although, realizing this now is way too late!

For some reason, Mistral is approaching me with her jet black cudgel in hand.

This is a desperate life or death crisis!

Old Sleigstar and Gild-san release hearty laughs at seeing my hopeless circumstances.

T/N: Oh, cool, Gild-san has come to visit.
