By then I had matured the plant one third of the way.
There were different grades of fire plants. The lowest one needed very little heat and matured the fastest in 2 months without magic. With my 5th level of Qi condensation and dual wood and water abilities, I could mature these low level fire plants in 1 to 2 days but I found another way. Instead of using wood root then water root on the plants, I got lazy and tried to use both at the same time. Not only did it work, but it increased growth exponentially. It did take more energy in one try though.
After grandma’s Li turn, we had to wait a few hours for the next boost. I walked around the residence to see if I could use my ability elsewhere. I was gently kicked out from all fields. All the servants looked at me as if I was stealing their reason to live! With a sigh I went to the library and was asked to come back another day as the city’s lord team was using it.
Training ground was my next destination. Li Yao, who came with me, told me that the smallest one was usually available so we went there. I used it to practice lightning skills. With my level increase, I was able to conjure lightning from 2 meters away, as thick as my arm for as long as I had spiritual energy. I wanted to increase the range and the voltage…I mean strength.
Two hours later, I needed a snack ASAP. These days, I have been eating like a bear getting ready for hibernation. The joy of a growing body. I recall this happened to me much later in my first life, my cultivation increase must have rushed it
Grandma Li had green leaf pancakes ready for me. The first pancake I was about to take was stolen by uncle Huai. I decided to ignore that and greeted him after taking another one. “The array masters validated all the dates and predicted the freezing winter just like you BUT they could not confirm your theory from scratch. It does not matter as long as it works” So they basically used the equations to calculate dates but could not understand or see the pattern from previous data
“With this, I can announce officially that the freezing winter is coming. The city's official preparation starts today!”
“Will you have problems with the emergency shelter refugees?” I asked. I was concerned that the dissatisfaction of the refugees taking all resources these few months would arise earlier.
Uncle Huai smirked and said “My team already has a plan, what do you think they are doing these days? I don't pay useless people. Every refugee could gain AnNan's citizenship if they helped with the emergency preparation and work during winter. There would be a system point for and will be awarded in consequence. From low level to non-cultivator, from children to elderly, all would have something to do. With that no one could complain that those refugees were leaching the city’s resources”

“Better harvest them tomorrow morning. These types of plants are best collected with daylight” I took the time to read about fire plants a few days back. I even read about how to make fire pills but I did not want to waste too many ingredients. Luckily I will learn alchemy - and array - starting tomorrow at school.
In front of Li Yao’s puppy eyes I added “I will mature them after dinner and you can wait until daylight to harvest them. Grandma Li can fertilize the land before you put in new seeds and I will boost the plant before I leave for school”
With that he was happy again
