I’ve been deliberating about it but I decided to change the name of Seo-Ha’s Guild from Backwater to Netherworld. Actually the name itself had a lot of combinations that were close to sky, water, reverse, back etc. I was being casual about naming it and realized that the guild name Backwater doesn’t necessarily have the right ring that a typical MC guild should have. I plan to change the names on the previous chapters later on, to avoid the confusion but for now please do Take note about the Name change!

That’s right, Netherworld is also a mid-tier guild. There was definitely a briefing session held by them as well. However, Hye-won said she wasn’t coming, so I didn’t check.
“I haven’t seen you in a week! Why doesn’t this training center have a visitation system? How have you been?”
“I’m fine, I’m fine. What about you?”
“I’ve been good too!”
The voices of guild recruiters diminished when Hye-Won appeared. Now that they saw that I seemed to be friendly with people from the Netherworld Guild, the other guilds that were weaker than Netherworld gave up and went to approach the other Hunter Recruits. This seemed to save them a lot more time.
“Aren’t you the guild leader of Netherworld, Oh, but I see you here.”
When Kim Ki-taek appeared, the rest of the people left as well. After all, the only guild that can contend against Red Flames are the Blue Serpents.
“Oh isn’t this, Mr. Kim Ki-taek of the Red Flame, who has no conscience and is cheap.”
“You’re being too harsh. We have no intention of arguing with the guild leader.”
“That’s your idea. If you have a conscience, don’t you think you should give us a percentage instead of dragging out a pointless legal battle?”
They started bickering, and the heat between their exchanges were like those of fireworks.
“Looks like we’re still not done talking about the Holy Grail.”
I know. It’s an S-grade holy Artifact, and even just one percent of it would be worth more than you can imagine, but I don’t know much about my share because Hye-won is the one discussing it for me.
‘I’ll have to sort this out.’
Normally, such important items are handled by a national organization, called the National Treasure Administration. But if you have a stake in it, the extent to which you can borrow it from the state depends on your stake. Basically, anyone with a stake could go to the National Treasure Administration and touch the Grail, but the right to take it outside or to spill the holy water that is part of the Grail was a different matter.
“You’re not really here to scout out Seo-Ha, are you? I can see through you, I can see through your schemes! Are you trying to take Seo-ha’s shares to Red Flames as well?”
Kim Ki-taek cringed as if he hadn’t thought of that.
“Don’t worry, I already made an offer and it was rejected.”
“Really? Good for you, Seo-haya. You’re in trouble if you partner with these guys.”
Maybe things are even worse between them than I thought.
“I’d rather the Blue Serpent be the one to… No, that’s also a bit…”
Hye-won looked troubled for a moment. The guilds vying for first and second place are Red Flames and Blue Serpent, and neither of them seems to like each other very much.
“It’s been a long time since Blue Serpent recruited anyone, Guild Leader of Netherworld.”
“That’s good, too! Uh… But that leaves me with…”
“There was something I wanted to tell you anyway.”
I had thought about it before.
“I’m going to use my guild bargaining power, big sister Hye-won, or rather, Hunter Hye-won. I want you to make a deal with me as the Guild Leader of Netherworld.”
At those words, she immediately stiffened, it’s definitely a rare occurrence in front of me. Their smiling faces turned cold and their chattering mouths closed.
There was a cold atmosphere in an instant. This is not the face of Sister Pyo Hye-won, but of Hunter Pyo Hye-won.
“I’m very particular about separating business from personal life.”
“I know, and I’m also on the public side of things.”
Hye-won stops Jo Yeon-ho from following, and the two of us walk into the room. It was a room provided for Guild scouts and trainees to coordinate their views. It wasn’t large, but it was big enough to talk.
“What is it you want to propose?”
I had to choose my words carefully. I didn’t want to give her the wrong idea.
I opened my mouth slowly.
“I want to get my name on the list as a pseudo-member.”
“You don’t mean you want to be in the Netherworld right?”
“Yes. I can’t do the guild’s mandatory duties, like clearing the designated gates, because I have other things to do.”
At my words, Hye-won tapped her fingers on the table. It’s a habit she has when she’s deep in thought.
“Then you literally just want to put your name on it, but how does that benefit you?”
“It’ll give me an advantage when I get involved in national projects, and it’ll give me an easier start than a lone hunter.”
Actually, that was a secondary benefit, a key one, but I couldn’t tell her.
“What’s in it for us?”
“Your share of the Holy Grail, I’ll even cry for it to be higher.”
She stared at me like I’d touched a sensitive spot.
“How?”
“There’s one odd part of the Grail’s description, isn’t there?”
“It says that… It has a more powerful effect when used by a specific person.”
“Right.”
“Are you trying to tell me that specific person is you?”
Obviously, it’s beneficial to use items efficiently. If it’s more efficient for a ‘Specific person‘, it stands to reason that that person, or the guild they belong to, will have a higher stake in it.
“Well, technically it was my character, Ritch.”
That short sentence was enough to explain. She must have seen me hugging Dahlia’s body.
“… Okay. I understand your proposal. We will lend you the name, you give us equity.”
Hye-won gave a small smile.
“Do me a favor. Hunter Han Seo-ha.”
“Thank you, Guild Leader.”
It was the day that my name was once again labeled as part of ‘Netherworld‘.
