Chapter 52 Part 2:  Lettahjia

Creak.

I cautiously opened the door while firmly holding Noir in my hand.

If a place like this is shaped like a house, its identity is pretty obvious.

It’s definitely the habitat of a boss monster.

‘I didn’t even hear Theodore mention about the identity of the boss.’

I didn’t know exactly what kind of monster it was.

The house felt empty.

‘Is this what a typical medieval house would look like?’

There was a fireplace, and it was lit. A large pot of water was also boiling on the firewood.

Thud. Thud.

I heard footsteps and turned around to see a black cat. It opened its mouth, and made a sound that was far from a ‘Meow’, and then scurried away.

‘A cat?’

What kind of cat is in a boss monster’s habitat?

“Hello.”

I reflexively fired at the voice behind me.

It was a woman, with Purple hair hanging down to her toes.

‘It’s the Witch, Lettahjia!’

I knew her.

I don’t know why, The witch of dreams and visions was here.

However, It was said that once you’re caught by her, even the strongest of minds could not escape her sweet dreams.

She was a witch who specializes in the mental realm after all.

The most dangerous on the battlefield are not the mages who scatter fireballs into the sky. It’s the witches who can steal someone’s souls.

“Isn’t he cute? He’s my cat.”

Before she knew it, the black cat was already at Lettahjia’s feet, purring.

“I wasn’t expecting company, that’s why I wasn’t able to prepare anything, so what should I do?”

Bam!

I fired another shot with my gun, but there was no effect.

It’s all an illusion.

Only the area where the bullet touches is bizarre, once the bullet passes through it, it would only distort a little then recover its calm.

The bullet naturally went through her and lodged in behind her back.

Does it mean that the main body is somewhere else?

“I’m… Hmm, you can call me ‘Lettah’. I’ve always wanted a nickname.”

A witch is different from a magician.

Magicians are like craftsmans who delicately procures magic, while Witches like warlocks are similar to dark magicians.

However, contrary to a dark magician, witches and warlocks don’t rely on contracts with a monster or a demon.

Their power relies solely through their malice towards humanity.

To become a witch is to hate humans to the core, to the point that they would even sacrifice their souls for themselves.

And now what? Did she say she wanted a nickname? It wasn’t even funny.

“What about you? What’s your name?”

“Han Seo-Ha.”

“What should I call you? Han-Seo or Han?”

“My name is Seo-Ha.”

She’s ignorant about everything on Earth. It’s pretty obvious.

Even if she was a witch, she couldn’t do much to survive.

She actually joined hands with people who she hates to death in order to kill humans on another world.

“It’s been a very… Long time since I’ve been here, and I’d like to talk to you more.”

Bang!

“But you don’t seem to want the same thing…”

Well that’s an obvious fact. Considering that, instead of answering her, I’ve been feeding her with a bunch of bullets. However, she seemed to be unperturbed. All she did was smile and say,

“You know it’s all an illusion.”

“But I’m sure your body is out there somewhere.”

“Is it?”

I ignored the chatter and headed for the second floor. The first floor didn’t seem like a good place to hide something.

When I reached the second floor, I saw three rooms side by side along the hallway. I flung open the first one.

“This is my bedroom. Do you want to get some sleep?”

No.

I headed to the second room.

“You can look in my closet. You can try on anything you want.”

There was nowhere to hide.

Lastly, the third room.

“I don’t think you should go in there. It’s a research lab, and it’s a little dangerous.”

Nothing. How could this be?

If the vision was this vivid, the body had to be around. I reached out to Lettahjia.

“You’re rude.”

Sure enough, my hand passed through her. It felt like I was touching an empty space.

This must be an illusion, But where the hell did she hide her body?

“You hid it like a rat.”

“That’s a harsh word.”

“Why be polite to each other? We’re enemies anyway.”

“You seem to think so.”

She said it in a tone that seemed to express that she wasn’t. She looked at me with one eyebrow arched, then smirked.

“Do you want to play hide-and-seek?”

“With me looking for you?”

“Something like that. If you don’t find my body, you’ll be lost here forever. It’ll be fun, right?”

What a bad taste.

All she wants is to watch me go crazy.

“You’re so confident. You think I won’t find it.”

“Yeah. It’s fun to watch.”

She covers her mouth with her hand and laughs. She was obviously a master at offending people.

I began scouring the mansion, no longer wanting to deal with Lettahjia.

I searched through the bathroom, the bubbling pot, even in the fireplace.

But there was nothing to be seen.

I couldn’t find the purple-haired witch’s body. I couldn’t tell if it had risen to the sky or fallen to the ground.

‘Where the hell is it?’

It can’t be without a body.

Every gate has a solution. This axiom can never be broken.

A gate that cannot be cleared violates the law of causality.

‘There must be a way.’

“I think it’s time to give up, don’t you think so?”

Lettahjia was floating in midair, she was half lying on her back, with her jaw clenched.

She looked like she was watching a boring TV show.

“Why don’t you take a break?”

“What do you want?”

What the hell does she want from me that she’s talking to me endlessly?

She’s an illusion, so we can’t physically attack each other, but isn’t this witch a witch of dreams and fantasies?

I’m sure she can find a way through it.

“You’re finally turning around.”

“Lettahjia.”

“Call me Lettah.”

Her body whirled and she stood up straight, her necklace full of purple gems was chirping at the same time.

“Are you ready to talk?”

“No.”

Bang!

I pointed the gun at Lettahjia’s forehead.
