Lu Feng spent his entire day with Lu Lijun while working from home and letting Lu Lijun rest. In the evening Jiang Yang arrived at Lu Feng’s home.
There was no need for Jiang Yang to get permission to come to Lu Feng’s place and he even knew the door security password. Lu Feng heard the sound of the door getting unlocked and looked at it while sitting on the sofa and not caring to stand up and check.
“Good evening, Darling,” Jiang Yang entered the home.
“Good evening,” Lu Feng replied.
Jiang Yang sat next to him on the sofa and asked, “Where is the young one?”
“He is resting,” Lu Feng replied and asked, “How is the other one?”
Jiang Yang sighed, “Don’t ask me. Suddenly she was ready to get engaged and said yes to my parents this morning.”
“What?” Lu Feng exclaimed.
“Last night I thought she will think a lot before making any decision but this morning she just made a final verdict. She is ready to get engaged with that guy Alex.”
“You must be very happy then,” Lu Feng countered.
“I am not because she took this decision in haste,” Jiang Yang replied.
Lu Feng glared at him, “You are the one to blame.” Lu Feng referred to what he did in the naming ceremony party to provoke Lu Lijun by intentionally calling Jiang Yuyan to talk with Alex.
“I was just….” Jiang Yang stopped as he saw Lu Lijun coming out of the room. Lu Lijun acted as if he heard nothing and went towards the kitchen to get water.
“If my sister agreed to get engaged to Alex, then it’s her life. She must think he is the perfect man for her,” Jiang Yang said in a raised voice only to get a death glare from Lu Feng who asked in a mute, ‘What are you doing?’
Jiang Yang offered him an assuring gaze and said again, “Alex is a good man. She will be happy with him.”
Getting water while hearing all this, Lu Lijun was just calm and returned to the room, “Good night elder, brother. I am sleeping. No need to wake me up for dinner,” and looked at Jiang Yang, “Good night.”
“Good night,” Jiang Yang replied while Lu Feng didn’t know what to say as he saw his brother silently going back to the bedroom. If he had reacted to what Jiang Yang said, then there was nothing to worry about.

“I am fine, father,” was what he said and continued to walk with them. Just then Xiao Dong informed that someone was waiting for him, so he had to stay back, “You two go ahead.”
Nodding Lu Lijun and Jiang Yuyan went towards the VIP elevator. In the elevator, no one was there other than these two as the two stood side by side with Lu Lijun one step behind. No one said a single word. Lu Lijun was cold and calm while Jiang Yuyan looked like she was counting each passing second, expecting to reach as fast as the elevator could.
The moment two stepped out of the elevator, the receptionist bowed to them while Xiao Min and Noah, who were talking about something, were taken aback by seeing these two together. Getting out of the shock, the two bowed and greeted them.
Jiang Yuyan straightaway went to her office while Lu Lijun went to his office as their respective assistants followed them.
Lu Lijun sat in his chair and Noah spoke, “Sorry I could not be with you because one of us needed to be here for the project work.”
“It’s fine. I already said I wanted to be alone,” Lu Lijun replied.
“Also, brother Feng was with you so I could relax.”
Lu Lijun nodded and spoke, “Get to work then.”
Noah told him a day’s schedule. “We have a meeting related to the project in half an hour. I will be representing it so you can just relax and be there.”
Lu Lijun nodded as he turned on his laptop. “Did you get a call from Jake? He was supposed to send ….”
“No,” Noah replied, even before Lu Lijun could finish it.
Lu Lijun leaned back in his chair and looked at his friend who looked calm but his eyes showed he was not calm at all.
“What happened? Did you call him?”
“I did because you were not fine, but that ass hole is busy enjoying somewhere.”
“You don’t need to use me as an excuse to call him, Noah.”
Noah scoffed, “Excuses? I don’t need any because I don’t plan to call him at all. I did it because I thought he should know about you or later he will curse me for not informing him just like how he always does it.”
“Understood. Now get to work,” Lu Lijun said as he knew Noah would never accept it.
after half an hour they left for the meeting where all the important people were present. Lu Lijun was sitting silently in his chair while Noah was ready to present the progress of the project. Jiang Yuyan entered the meeting room where everyone stood up to greet her. Lu Lijun did it but unlike others, he didn’t look at her.
While Noah explained everything on the screen, Lu Lijun was sitting staring at the file kept in front of him and his fingers playing with the pen.
