Time passed by and everyone fell asleep as they were tired because of the exertion of a whole day, traveling and then playing soccer. Three men fell asleep on the sofa in a sitting position while Jiang Yuyan fell asleep while sitting on the bed, resting her back to the headboard.
In between, Jiang Yang checked Lu Lijun and assured others that he was fine. When all were in a deep sleep just before the dawn, there was a movement in a bed and Jiang Yuyan woke because of it. Lu Lijun was sweating and mumbling something to himself. Jiang Yuyan felt worried and caressing his forehead. She called him, "Lu Lijun!"
Hearing Lu Lijun mumbling, others woke up too. When Lu Lijun heard Jiang Yuyan he opened his eyes and immediately sat up to hug her. He was shivering and tears were rolling down from his eyes. Jiang Yuyan was startled with this but she understood his condition as she has gone through it so many times. She felt as if she was seeing herself in him when she was of his age and used to be like this to her brother.
Deciding to comfort him, Jiang Yuyan hugged him back and did what her brother used to do with her. Patting his back she said in a calm voice, "It's okay. It was just a nightmare" and continued caressing his back gently.
The other three looked at them and stood up from the sofa. As Lu Qiang and Lu Feng were about to step towards the bed to see Lu Lijun, Jiang Yang stopped them and said, "Let her do it. He will be fine. Let him calm down first."
Hearing it both stopped and continued looking at Lu Lijun worriedly. In a while, Lu Lijun calmed down and let go of Jiang Yuyan. She wiped his tears with her fingers and asked, "Are you fine now?"
Lu Lijun hesitantly nodded looking down towards mattress and seems like he was embarrassed to let Jiang Yuyan see him in such a condition. He always maintained his cold side in front of others except for his two brothers who had seen him like this so many times in the past.
Lu Qiang understood what his brother was feeling and stepped towards him while Lu Feng went to the table to fetch water in a glass for Lu Lijun.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Lu Qiang held Lu Lijun's hand and sat there. Lu Feng brought water and passed the glass to Lu Qiang. Li Lijun had a few sips of water but he was still not looking at anyone.
Jiang Yang went to Lu Lijun and checked his pulse and said, "You are absolutely fine but I think you need to eat something to get energy as you didn't eat anything."
Lu Lijun didn't react much and Lu Qiang looked at Lu Feng. Lu Feng understood what was it and asked the servant to cook something for Lu Lijun.
Jiang Yang looked at his sister and said, "We should leave now."
Jiang Yuyan nodded and stood up from the bed. Both siblings knew Lu Lijun was feeling embarrassed so they preferred to leave him with his two brothers and give them some space to talk and discuss the things. Lu Qiang and Lu Feng too didn't stop them.
Once they were out of the room, Jiang Yuyan spoke, "I must be like Lu Lijun whenever I had nightmares."
"Hmm!" Jiang Yang nodded.
She could realize how her brother felt all the time whenever she was suffering and thought it was not easy for him either. She always felt fortunate to have him in her life but seeing herself in his position when she was handling Lu Lijun and it was not just once or twice but for so many years her brother did it for her. She couldn't help but say it again, "Thanks for being with me all the time."
Jiang Yang understood why his sister was saying this and smiled. "I want to be with you always but now someone else replaced me."
Jiang Yuyan smiled too and asked, "Isn't it good as it's a time for you to be with someone that you really want to be with?"
"Well it's good but it's not because it's time for me to be with her but it's because my sister has a man in her life who can take care of her even better than me," Jiang Yang replied.
"I won't say better than you as you took care of me in the worst time of my life but he also helped me to get out of something that I was not able to do so. I will say, both of you are equal for me."
"So sweet of you," saying it, both went to their rooms.
When Jiang siblings' left, Lu Qiang and Lu Feng both stayed silent for a while to let Lu Lijun adjust to the situation. It was after so long that he had a nightmare so it was understood that he must be shocked himself.
"Are you okay now?" Finally, Lu Qiang asked while Lu Feng was standing a bit away looking at Lu Lijun.
Lu Lijun looked at his brother. He looked puzzled as not knowing what to say or what to do. Lu Qiang spoke again, "It's okay as long as you are all right."
Both brothers didn't ask him anything that how he ended up there and what happened with him. They didn't want to rush for anything and preferred to not ask anything as at that moment what Lu Lijun needed the most was some space for himself to process the things.
"Do you want to freshen up?" Lu Qiang asked.
"Lu Lijun nodded and Lu Qiang took him to the washroom. Lu Feng went to the wardrobe and pulled out a set of clothes for Lu Lijun and passed it to Lu Qiang.
Arranging everything inside, Lu Qiang came outside of the bathroom while Lu Lijun was inside alone as Lu Lijun didn't like anyone to help him with these things even if he was not feeling well. He was more like an independent kid.
