Leaving Ming Rusheng's office, Lu Lian went to her office. The moment she closed the door, all the arrogance she carried in front of him disappeared as she looked hurt.

'That jerk is the real piece of work. What was I thinking? Such an idiot I'm.' she cursed herself and sat in her chair as she pressed her temples.

"Why this sudden headache?" she mumbled, trying to bear with the headache, "It's been the same since the morning, but I realized it now. Damn it."

Leaning at her workable, she continued to press her temples with her eyes shut tight. Just then, her assistant entered the office.

Looking at her boss, she asked, "Ms. Lu, are you not feeling well?"

Lu Lian didn't look at her and replied while trying to bear the pain, "It's nothing. Did you get the file I asked?"

"Yes," the assistant kept the file on the table, "Any more instructions for me?"

"Get me some medicine to get rid of the headache." Replying, Lu Lian stood up from the chair, "I'll be in the workshop. Don't disturb me unless it's something important."

The assistant nodded and left. In a while, she brought medicines for Lu Lian and took it to the workshop where Lu Lian was busy working.

"Ms. Lu, medicines," the assistant spoke calmly. It was the first time when she found her boss a bit scary as she was cold.

With her sight focussed on the blueprint on the workshop table, Lu Lian put forward her hand in which the assistant put the medicine. Lu Lian put medicine in her mouth, and the assistant gave her the glass of water from the tray in her hand.

Having medicine, Lu Lian resumed her work, but the assistant kept looking at her as if trying to see something.

"Do you need anything?" Lu Lian asked, sensing the gaze at her.

"Ms. Lu, your face," the assistant spoke.

Lu Lian still didn't look at her, "I know it's pretty."

The assistant was taken aback by the narcissistic reply, but what her boss said was the truth; she was gorgeous that it would be impossible not to look at her again after seeing her once.

Clearing her throat, the assistant spoke, "It looks red and…" the assistant directly touched Lu Lian's forehead, "You have a fever."

Lu Lian touched her forehead to check it, "Hmm, it's nothing," and again focussed on her work.

Unwillingly, the assistant stepped out of the workshop, feeling worried about her boss and her boss coughing.

COUGH!! COUGH!!

Also, when she joined this job, she was instructed to take care of Lu Lian, or she would lose her job.

The assistant came out of the office looking all worried. Just then, Ming Rusheng's assistant saw her and didn't fail to notice that something was wrong with her.

"Is there any problem?" Ming Rusheng's assistant asked.

The lady assistant nodded, "I think Ms. Lu is not well."

"Not well?"

"She asked me to get medicine for the headache, and when I got it to her, I checked her forehead. It was burning, but she said it's fine and continued working," the lady assistant replied.

She must be fine then," he said.

"Her face turned red, and her complexion doesn't seem right. She even coughed a little. She should rest instead of working," the lady assistant added.

"I see," he said and instructed, "Get to your work."

He was sure that something was wrong with Ms. Lu and his boss as both looked cold. When Lu Lain came out of the Ming Rusheng's office, looking furious, the assistant was sure something was going on.

Ming Rusheng's assistant went to his boss's office. Not only Lu Lian but today, his boss was unusually cold too.

"Boss, seems like Ms. Lu is not well," the assistant informed, standing in front of his busy boss.

"What happened?" Ming Rusheng asked, still focused on his work.

"She has a headache and fever but is still working in the workshop," the assistant informed.

"Get her some medicine or ask her to go home early," Ming Rusheng instructed.

Nodding, the assistant left, and finally, Ming Rusheng, who looked like he didn't care, stopped working. Knowing she was not well had affected him, and he felt worried. There might be the possibility of her being sick for real because she was drenched in the rain twice the previous night, and it was unbearably cold.

-------

When Lu Lian's assistant went to Lu Lian with the other medicines as instructed by Ming Rusheng's assistant, Lu Lian looked at her questioningly as if asking what it is.

"These are the medicines for fever," the assistant answered.

"I told you I'm fine," said Lu Lian, but the assistant still took out a tablet from the pack and held it in front of Lu Lian.

Sighing over the stubborn assistant, Lu Lian was ready to get the medicines from her hand, but just then, the assistant spoke.

"Mr. Ming asked to get these medicines for you."

Hearing his name, Lu Lian clenched her fists and glared at her assistant, "And who told him I'm not well?"

The assistant felt scared to see angry Lu Lian, "Ms. Lu that…."

"Take this back," Lu Lian said coldly without even care to listen to the assistant. Ming Rusheng's name was enough for her to lose her mind and get angry.

"But….."

"Don't do anything that will put your job in trouble," Lu Lian warned, "Don't disturb me again."

Shivering a bit with the sudden anger from her always so calm and pleasant looking boss, the assistant nodded and left.

"She is so scary today," the assistant mumbled as she left the office.

Ming Rusheng's assistant was out, and he asked what happened. The lady assistant explained, and the assistant sighed.

Ming Rusheng's assistant went to his boss to inform him about it. He knew Ming Rusheng cared for Lu Lian and would want to know it. His boss even went to Mr. Wong to help Lu Lian, so it was clear for him to understand.

"Ms. Lu didn't take the medicines," the assistant informed.

"Am I her parent?"
