Sowing Discord (1)

Anna waited for a while, but she didn’t see the demon rushing out. She was a little disappointed. It seemed that this kind of stimulation was not enough?

Pretending to have been comforted by Balan, She broke free from his arms, shyly stepped aside, and whispered, “Sorry, I lost my composure.”

Anna knew that the demon must have been able to tell that she was acting now, but she wanted him to see through her acting.

So in his opinion, what was she pretending to be a timid and lovable little woman for? Of course it was for Balan’s pity, which was enough to show that she was scheming for Balan.

And just yesterday, she had told the demon that she held the Holy Son, the four-star mage, and the others in discontempt.

She didn’t even fancy the four star mage nor the Holy Son, but fancied Balan. Wasn’t the demon angry? The prey he selected was about to be taken away by another demon, and he still wasn’t coming out to stop it?

Although she didn’t notice any movement, Anna didn’t give up. Quantitative changes produce qualitative changes. If one time didn’t work, she would try a few more times. After a couple times, the demon’s anger would surely reach his threshold.

At that time, she just had to hide on the side and shout “Stop fighting, stop fighting, you guys can’t kill people like this.”

Balan used to examine countless women, so how could he not see that Anna was pretending just now? But of course he wouldn’t expose her; he particularly liked women who played such cute tricks with him.

“It’s okay. It’s normal for a delicate girl to be scared by such a bug.” Balan smiled, and when he turned to Anna, his smile suddenly became strange, “But I’m very curious, aren’t you afraid of a demon like me, Anna? ”

The alarm bell in Anna’s heart went off. She felt that Balan’s words were sounding her out.

Indeed, because she was long used to seeing demons, although she was a little surprised when Balan appeared, she lacked the usual fear and vigilance of human beings when they encountered a different species.

“Because you saved me.” As if she didn’t pick up on Balan’s probing, Anna lowered her head and said shyly, “I thought I was going to die, but then you showed up. I know that demons are evil creatures in the legends. But legends are legends after all, and shouldn’t seeing be believing? The truth is that you saved me. If you have malicious intentions towards me, the worst that could happen is what would have happened if you didn’t save me. Either way, there’s no loss for me.”

When Balan heard the first half, he thought Anna had fallen in love at first sight with the one who had saved her. In the second half, he realized that she was actually a rational person.

A rational person who deliberately pretended to be weak and wanted to get close to him. She obviously had other intentions, but no matter what her real purpose was, he would welcome it with open arms.

“Anna, you’re too right.” Balan smiled, and then proceeded to sabotage his friend. “However, not every demon is as kind as I am. In the future, if you see other demons, remember to run as far as you can.”

Rothgarr stared coldly at Balan who was deliberately causing him trouble, but he didn’t care too much.

He was still using someone else’s body to approach Anna today; how could he let Anna discover that he was a demon?

“Really?” Anna heard Balan mentioning other demons. She pretended to ask curiously, “Are there many demons coming to the Human Realm? I haven’t heard of it very much. Are they all like you?”

“What about me? As handsome as me?” Balan smiled happily. “Don’t worry, there are only two demons in the Human Realm. As far as I know, there are only two. The other’s appearance is only a little worse than mine, but his temper is very bad. If you see him, don’t talk to him, or you will be angered to death by him. He doesn’t have any pity for women.”

…….He was talking about the demon who had been eyeing her, right?

That demon truly did have a bad temper, and sometimes his mouth was quite poisonous…but sometimes, he would also say some nice things. She now suspected that those nice words were probably from the memory of the people he possessed. His manner when he pretended to be Dubian yesterday was actually quite similar to the real thing.

When Balan talked about the demon, his tone was particular. Anna felt that the two of them weren’t like enemies, but like friends. The tone was quite intimate.

So her idea from before about wanting the demon to rush out and fight Balan had to be scrapped. The two obviously had a good relationship. That demon had been eyeing her all this time, and Balan suddenly used a ‘hero saves the damsel in distress’ strategy to deliberately approach her….Could it be that the demon felt unsure about her after the events of last night, so he asked his friends to help?

This was too much. He had to ask his friends for help even in reaping her soul; did he really have no confidence in himself? If he didn’t, he should have said something! She would give it to him!

After figuring out that it was not two demons competing for a soul, but two demons cooperating to harvest a soul, Anna really panicked.

She was already struggling to fight with a demon, but now there appeared one with an even higher rank. How could she survive?

Anna took a deep breath and calmed down.

So what if they were friends? Could friends have discord?

Knowing that the demon was listening, she smiled and nodded. She said, “Okay, I’ll remember. Thank you for reminding me. I thought every demon was like you…listening to your tone. Are you friends with that demon? Wouldn’t it be bad if you talked ill of him behind his back?”

Balan thought, if it hadn’t been impossible for Anna to know that Rothgarr was listening in the dark, he would have thought she was saying these things deliberately to provoke his relationship with Rothgarr.

“Don’t worry, he never cared about this.” Balan said indifferently, and blinked. “Besides, isn’t he not here?”

Anna was smiling on the surface, but her heart was dripping blood.

The two demons seemed to have a really good relationship; they couldn’t be easily provoked! That made sense; that demon went to Balan so he could help harvest souls probably because their relationship was good.
