Meeting the Parents (4)

“Hello.”

“Have they picked you up?” Xi Chengyun’s voice came from the other end, and he sounded a little worn out.

“Mn, we’re already on the way.”

“I’ve left the key card with the estate management and I’ve informed them about your arrival. If the management doesn’t believe in your identity when you’re there…”

“Then I should take out our marriage certificate?” Bai Qi continued after him.

“Mn, sure,” Xi Chengyun said. It seemed like he was amused.

“Byebye,” Bai Qi said.

Just as Xi Chengyun wanted to reply with a ‘byebye’, Bai Qi quickly added, “Ah, hold on. Also, I won’t be going back to campus for the time being.”

He wasn’t sure if it was appropriate for Little Lin to hear. Thus, he lowered his voice to the extreme, it sounded somewhat like a lover’s whisper. “Is that okay?” he asked in a small voice.

Due to the softness of his voice, through the phone, he sounded a little pouty, as if he were acting cute.

Bai Qi didn’t plan to only stay during the weekends, he wanted to stay for a few more days.

Xi Chengyun quickly understood what he meant.

Xi Chengyun felt a small tingle on his ears, his hands unintentionally switching sides for him to listen. “Of course, it’s fine.”

Bai Qi was good at being proactive.

Xi Chengyun could almost hear him saying, “My laogong”, beside his ear.

Xi Chengyun unconsciously changed into another sitting position. “Let Little Lin know immediately if you need something, send him to buy everything you need by today. I may not be able to come back tonight.”

“Mhn mhn. Okay, I think that’s all. Byebye…” Bai Qi replied.

“Wait.” This time, Xi Chengyun was the one who quickly interrupted.

Xi Chengyun lowered his eyes, concealing the dark color in his irises. He stroked his fingertips against one another, “Jiang Fangcheng came to find you today?” he asked at a calm pace.

Were Xi Chengyun’s senses so sharp?

Bai Qi muttered quietly.

“Yes,” Bai Qi replied.

There was a sudden silence on the other end of the phone, which lasted for around a minute or two. Xi Chengyun hadn’t hung up. It seemed like he had turned around and was talking to someone else.

After a few simple exchanges, Xi Chengyun turned back and said into the phone, “Okay. Let’s have a meal together tomorrow.”

“Sure,” Bai Qi replied. “Where are we going?” he asked casually.

“We’ll need to meet each other’s parents at some point. After all, we’re already married.”

Bai Qi was taken aback.

Meeting my parents?

Well, your legs may end up broken if you do.

“Jiang Fangcheng kept you in the dark, lying to you that his father was a pig slaughterer…” Xi Chengyun paused there for a bit and continued, “I don’t suppose he has brought you to the Jiang family house before.”

At that moment, Bai Qi understood.

Oh.

Xi Chengyun was taking him to the Jiang family house for a meal, no biggie!

“Okie,” Bai Qi answered sweetly.

If Father Jiang were to throw a stool in anger tomorrow, he’d definitely stand in front of Xi Chengyun and block it for him! Hey, he knew how to maintain professionalism, you know.

After that, the two parties finally got off the phone.

Little Lin had drowned entirely in their sweetness.

Soon, they reached the Yi Garden township.

It didn’t take much for Bai Qi to obtain the key card. The estate management also carefully recorded the information regarding his identity.

Bai Qi watched as the other person added his name behind the property owner’s name.

Bai Qi smacked his lips lightly.

Ah, was this the happiness of being a moocher?

He couldn’t help but sigh again. Xi Chengyun was truly a thoughtful individual.

No wonder he has so many fans!

Who could possibly dislike him?

Xi Chengyun had purchased the highest-tiered loft of the Yu Garden building.

The highest-tiered loft consisted of the top three floors of each building, including the sky garden.

Little Lin escorted Bai Qi upstairs and helped him to carry his luggage. Then, without stopping, he hurried to do the shopping.

And just like this, Bai Qi passed his day like a rice worm; a day passed by living off of others.

When he was done reading his professional university books, he proceeded to catch up on some juicy gossip.

【Ahhhh. Have we still not found who’d gotten married】

【We’ve already gone through so many celebrities… And all have already come forward to deny the rumors】

【You believe in the statements of denial they’ve made?】

【I’ve got an idea. These days, there are only a few people who don’t use Weibo, not to mention an individual who secretly married a celebrity. Even if she’s not supposed to tell others, she surely wouldn’t be able to hold it in. So, it’s likely that she would have posted something on her alternate account to imply that she’d gotten married. Y’all can just search for the keywords. Find people who’d gotten their marriage certificate on that day and have posted it on Weibo. Then,  make a list of them and filter through it one by one…】

It was human nature to gossip. Xi Chengyun’s fans were enjoying themselves as they were served with piping hot tea. They even sighed sincerely:

【Man, I won’t be watching Season 10 of Sherlock Holmes if you’re not in it!】

【Sisters, lend me your brain cells please】

【Let’s light candles in advance for the fans of that unknown celebrity】
