The marching demon army didn’t stop, they advanced forward with what looked to be some sort of moving fort in between them. It wasn’t long before Oswald and the others caught sight of it.
“That looks like where the leader is.”
“We don’t know that yet so we can’t act on it. Normally if you take out the leaders the battle would end but the demons may not operate in conjunction with human logic.”
Braums interjected.
“But with this number it doesn’t look like we’re going to be able to just charge in from the front.”
There were many mages who had gathered there, they were spread out to cover a wide area. However the number of mages that stood ready were nothing compared to the amount of demons that were marching towards them. Nito thought it looked like they were all lining up to commit suicide rather than fight. The way they were situated now the only option was a head on collision with the army.
But keeping a distance between themselves and the humans the demon army came to a stop and one of the demons at the front began to speak.
“We are from the demon kingdom of Shastain! We serve under her highness Cassandra! We have come to collect Totalica! Stop this useless resistance and return her to us immediately!”
The demons demands were simple, return Toa to them and they would withdraw. However, ‘return’ wasn’t exactly the way I would put it since Toa wasn’t part of the Shastain kingdom to begin with. The mages who were lined up there had no idea what they were talking about anyway so it didn’t really matter. Sabrina wasn’t here now and even though the others were teachers or Oswald they wouldn’t know about Toa.
“In that case, you will all die here today!”
In the next moment the battle began.
“Summoning magic! 《Pillar Giant》”
Braums was the first to cast a spell when the demon army started to move again. A large magic circle appeared in front of him and a headless giant rose up from the ground with a large pillar over its shoulder.
“Thats the SS rank monster Pillar Giant!”
All the other mages seemed to be in awe of Braums.
“My magic is not uncommon from the perspective of the demons. You don’t have time to be fascinated!”
The giant followed Braums will as it headed for the approaching army. The surrounding mages returned their attention to the fight at Braums shout and began to release a large amount of advanced magic. Saeki watched from a distance feeling helpless as the battle began.
“Summoning magic! 《Unicorn》!”
Oswald summoned a white horse with a single horn and straddling it he rode forward his spear in hand.
“《Explosion》!”
Ichijo cast explosion magic but the demons that were caught up in it just laughed. As expected from someone that was part of dragons heart his magic was strong but the demons were able to withstand it.
“It’s been a while since I’ve experienced explosion magic. I’d expect nothing less of a summoned hero.”
Braums praised Ichijo’s magic, even though they had only just met they were able to work together effectively. Braums could tell that Ichijo wasn’t someone who focused on magic either but based of his physique was a swordman who incorporated magic in their fighting style.
“《Snake bolt》!”
Braums shot lighting out and as it came into contact with the first person it arced to the left and then the right. It moved through the demons ranks like a snake slithered on the ground.
“Haaaaaaaaa!”
The knights that wore golden armor were swinging their swords alongside Schneiser. This was another reason the king was called eccentric, there weren’t many kings who would fight alongside their knights.
Red magic circles appeared at the feet of many of the demons and tornadoes of flame shot up from the ground.
“Everyone! Deploy the barrier!”
When someone shouted several mages attempted to create a wall of water but there weren’t enough of them.
“《Aqua breath》!”
Ichijo shot a jet of water into the tornado. When it hit the tornado erupted into a tremendous amount of steam and went out but it didn’t make much of a difference. The demons were summoning the tornadoes one after another and the more that Ichijo erased the more that appeared.
“Hero! Leave the defense to me and aim at the casters!”
“Got it!”
If they got surrounded they would be finished so everyone had no choice but to try and prevent this outcome with long range magic. In the next moment some of the mages on the far left of the battlefield were turned to ash while demons had gotten close enough to stab others. Morale was dropping fast.
“Oswald!”
“Yes!?”
“We’re okay here! You support those mages!”
“Leave it to me!”
Oswald headed out to help the mages as he kept stabbing demons that were on the front lines.
“Lord Scheiser!”
Braums called out to the king next.
“Would you mind taking your golden knights to support the other mages!?”
In response Scheiser immediately set off with his knights. The only people who were left there were Ichijo and Braums.
“Ichijo!”
“Yes!?”
Ichijo put some distance between himself and one of the demons as he parried its attack.
“I’m going to summon the spirit Queen!”
“The spirit Queen?”
Braums declaration came rather suddenly.
“Although I might look like this I am a spirit user!”
“But the spirit Queen.?”
“You’re heard correctly, I have a contract with Voluto, the spirit Queen of thunder. I’m going to use all my strength to blow away the demons!!”
A large amount of blue electricity began to emit from Braums’ body then without warning someone appeared next to him.
“Braums? Did you really need to call me again? Can’t you master the blue lightning bolt on your own?”
A woman had appeared wearing a yellow bikini like clothing on here top with yellow see through pants decorated in white lace.
“I apologize lady Voluto, I am still not able to handle such power.”
Braums seemed to have a lot of respect for the woman.
“It can’t be helped then. I’ll lend you some power.”
“I am grateful.”
Then a blue lightning bolt seemed to rise into the sky from Braums’ body.

A little before that happened Sabrina had led a line of people over to Halekuwait to escape.
“Haaa…”
Sabrina sighed unintentionally as the last one past through the transfer gate. She had told Oswald that once she had finished she would head over to the battlefield. She wasn’t suitable for combat but she was still able to fight. She slapped her cheeks to help build her resolve.
“Teacher.”
Sabrina looked over to see that it was Patrick who had called out to her.
“You…..”
She wondered why Patrick was not evacuating.
“Is Nito going to be expelled?”
Sabrina wanted to avoid the question but Patrick continued to start straight into her eyes.
“He can’t really be saved from it at this point can he..”
“….I see.”
A complicated expression came over Patricks face. Although they hadn’t spoken for a while he hadn’t abandoned Nito. But he knew that he couldn’t do anything to help this situation.
“Although it will probably be worse than just expulsion. He may face murder charges.”
“Murder charges…?”
“You’re surprised? He killed a person, you aren’t saying that he can’t be blamed for that are you?”
Patrick knew that but for some reason he remembered Nito’s face before, without the mask. When they would hang out in the library and sneak into the restricted section. He was reminded of his friend Nito.
“He will stand trial, even I don’t know what will happen after that.”
“……”
“You should hurry and evacuate. Just in case tell everyone to get as far away from the transfer gate as possible. I’m going to help the others.”
“I’m going too.”
But Sabrina shot him down immediately.
“Absolutely not.”
“…..”
“You wouldn’t stand a chance against them.”
“I have the power of a spirit.”
“I saw your match. You don’t have enough power, now hurry and evacuate.”
But Patrick didn’t back down.
“This power isn’t used to gain honor, I didn’t use the power of the spirit queen in the match.”
“….What are you talking about?”
Sabrina didn’t understand.
“The blue flames of the Spirit queen would turn everything to ash, it’s not something that I could use against students. But I can use it without hesitation in war.”
“You… The spirit queens….?”
Sabrina was surprised that such a young man could make use of the power of the spirit queen.
“Teacher, Please allow me to come with you.”
But his plea just confused Sabrina even further.
