“《Regal Innocence》…..”
This was the reversal of a light magic that I got from one of my old classmates. The original magic seemed to release some sort of light attack from the sky. Mine however caused a huge foot to appear over the fort.
“What….. Is that….”
The old man next to me looked stunned as the foot proceeded to smash the fort and everyone next to it.
“That was better than I thought.”
Bell gave a report on how the abyss was doing.
“Strange magic and a talking wand….Are you…”
The old man would not shut up.
“A fool of the abyss?….”
I’m not surprised by anything anymore. He seemed to know something and was staring at Patrick. But to be honest you’re just in the way, if you aren’t going to do anything then leave.
“You’re a spirit mage right? The spirit queen?”
“…..Yeah.”
Now he was suddenly talking to Patrick.
“Long time no see Salamander.”
“Voluto….”
The blonde girl floating next to the old man talked to Sarah like they were old friends while everyone else just kind of stared at each other.
“I don’t think that its a good thing we met here.”
What is that supposed to mean?
“Me either….”
Patrick had a complicated look on his face. Did Patrick know him? I didn’t think that was the case. No…wait….that one is a spirit!
“Are you a spirit?”
I asked the blonde girl.
“Do not speak with me so casually fool. I have nothing to say to you.”
“……..”
Then suddenly I remembered Sabrina telling me about the diary of someone making a contract with the spirit queen in the past.
“Whoa, Are you a spirit queen?”
I looked between the blonde girl and the old man.
“I guess that’s the case since you called me a fool of the abyss. So that’s what’s going on.”
Does that mean that the old man is worried about ‘then’? Oh well, thats not the main issue right now. I have to focus on cleaning up the demons right now. Schneiser joined us at that time as well.
“Is that the work of Nito!?”
What do you mean work? Can you refer to it some other why? It sounds like it has a bad connotation when you say it like that, especially after what happened in the arena.
“Hey king, Whats stronger, the demons or the Empire?”
“…….”
Schneiser didn’t reply.
“There’s so many.”
Even if I used godspeed it would be annoying to take them all out one by one. Following Schneisers gaze I saw Ichijo and a girl with pointed ears running to join us. Ichijo was bleeding from various wounds all over his body.
“Thats….an elf?”
Ichijo and the elf reached us after a moment.
“Been a while Nito…”
Ichijo’s breathing was rough and it looked as though he’d exhausted a considerable amount of his magical power.
“《Healing Aura》”
I healed Ichijo and the people around me. There was no particular meaning to it however.
“The wounds….”
Ichijo checked his body in shock.
“You look tired Ichijo.”
He worked hard.
“Ichijo, no matter how free you are you should stop acting on your own. You’ll end up cutting your life short.”
He’s probably participating in this without Seig and the others knowing, so what happens if he gets killed by a demon? I mean, it doesn’t really matter to me though.
“…..Yeah.”
He smiled wryly.
“Are you going to try and recover your magic power now?”
“No….I’ll leave the rest to Nito.”
Well that’s annoying… Even after taking out the control tower the demons didn’t stop and continued their advance. It seemed like they really wouldn’t stop until they had killed me and kidnaped Toa. Then I saw Saeki and the others running this way from the direction of the venue with the evacuees behind him. After a few moments the reason became apparent as the venue exploded.
“What!”
Ichijo starred in surprise with his eyes wide open as another horde of demons appeared from the smoke.
“Toa….Is everyone in Shastain stupid? Or is it normal to go this far just to kidnap you?”
“I mean….. I’m a princess.”
Toa was acting strange.
“Hhhhhh….”
I sighed without really thinking about it.
“Ichijo! We can’t run anymore!”
Saeki, although impatient, still seemed to have time to glare at me.
“Braums!”
Oswald joins us with Sabrina riding on his unicorn, it didn’t look like Sabrina could move.
“Oswald! We have to let the students escape somehow!”
At the moment we were being pincered, it seemed like my only option to stop the demons was to kill the queen. But where was she? It was difficult to tell because all the magic power seemed to be around the same level. If it’s the demon queen I feel like she should have a stronger magic power. Does that mean she isn’t here? If thats the case then I guess I just have to get rid of the demons that I can see for now.
“Bell.”
“Yeah!”
“We’ll take care of these demons first. Can you shoot that?”
“Of course!”
Saeki and his friends starred at Bell as if he was creepy.
“Just shoot one big one. If it doesn’t work we’ll use something else.”
“Got it master!”
I ignored the old man and Oswald and pointed my wand towards the flock of demons.
“Oi what are you doing!?”
I heard Saeki shout from behind me but I ignored him and cast my magic.
“《Black Ergo》!”
A huge black hole appeared above the demons in the field.
“What!?”
Oswald was in shock at the sudden headwind.
“What…is this…”
Even the old man was at a loss for words.
“Master, should I make it bigger?”
“Yeah.”
The huge sphere began to grow larger.
“Oi! ……….Wait…..”
I heard someone behind me.
“Oi!”
I felt someone grab the front of my shirt and when I turned I saw Saeki.
“What is going on!?”
“…….Hmm?”
I could feel confusion and anger, even bloodlust coming from Saeki.
“Did you do that!?”
What?
“I asked if you made that black Sphere!”
What is this guy talking about?
“That, That sphere…..on that day! Isn’t it the same one that erased the castle!?”
“………”
Oh he’s talking about that time that I killed Aries. I didn’t think Saeki was watching when that happened.
“Oi! I asked what was going on!?”
“You’re loud.”
“Goha!”
I hit him lightly in the stomach causing him to fall to his knees.
“There’s a time and place for everything. That’s not what we’re talking about right now.”
As long as I can protect Toa I don’t really care what happens.
“Master, Should I make it bigger?”
I mean, you could but….
“Nah, lets do it like it is.”
“Okay”
There were still countless demons left on both sides even after bell erased the ones that were caught in the sphere. I saw the number of unselected loot start going up in my status as the other demons continued to move regardless of how many of their friends died.
“102 huh…”
There’s just so many, Whats a good magic that I can use?
“Nito! What do we do!?”
Ichijo is beginning to get impatient.
“Have you mastered the power of the spirit queen yet?”
“Yeah…..”
Patrick and the old man were talking, apparently they were thinking about trying something.
“Nito, what are you going to do?”
Oswald asked curiously.
“There are still quite the number of demons left but you seem calm.”
This guy is getting a little to familiar with me.
“You seem to be impatient, are you going to do something? If not, could you at least protect the students behind you?”
“Of course, I intend to. I planned to take them back to the academy but the army would get here before then.”
“I know.”
Why is this guy talking to me like we are friends?
“Bell, use summoning magic.”
“That?”
“Yeah, just use it for now.”
I don’t actually know much about the technique that he’s going to use.
“Summoning magic?”
This old man is so annoying. This was actually a magic that I got from inverting the magic I got from King Johannes.
‘The magic has been inverted into [Legion].’
Supposedly it was magic that summoned the royal family but I didn’t know what it meant by that.
“You three, stay close to me.”
I told Toa, Nem, and Sufilia to stick close to me since I wasn’t entirely sure what was going to happen.
“Summoning magic 《Black Ergo》!”
As I cast the magic dark clouds appeared in the sky.
