As the heat began to spread in his bedroom, a scorching, handsome man hugged So-hee as well.

His tone brought chills down her spine.
So-hee had stopped him from killing other people.

She wanted to refute Joshua’s statement so badly.

So-hee bit her lip before replying, “I can see why you’re upset, Joshua. But I don’t like Deon. I’ll be by your side the whole time until Ariad dies.”
She realized her mistake in an instant.
She had referred to herself as a third person as if she wasn’t Ariad in the first place.
Relieved that Joshua didn’t notice her error, she started talking nonsense again.
“You don’t have to kill Deon, Joshua. I don’t want blood on your hands.”
Joshua laughed at her last statement.

He examined her for a moment before his large pupils narrowed into dangerous slits.

So-hee realized another mistake of hers when Joshua’s blood-red eyes turned into a daze.

The thumb and forefinger pressed on her earlobe fell off before he seized hold of Sohee’s hair.

Her head tilted back from the force of his grasp.
Then, he pushed his tongue between her parted lips so hard that her teeth clashed against his mouth and she tasted blood.
It was the first time he handled her so roughly that it hurt.

So far, all her physical contact with him had been kind and considerate but now he was acting like a ravenous beast.
Before she knew it, Joshua’s body had weighed heavily on top of her.
When she squirmed underneath him to escape his cage-like arms, Joshua withdrew his lips to see Ariad’s face contort from the pain.
His lips—-shiny with saliva—-curled up as she inhaled and exhaled.
Joshua’s blood-red eyes were as cloudy as a water fog as he watched her. “Great love, you say?”

So-hee stared back at him in a daze.

The hand clutching her purple hair dropped and ripped her thin dress into shreds.

An emergency bell rang in So-hee’s head and she tried to shove Joshua off her.
