Cao Mei lived in an old residential cluster that was more than 30 years old. There was only a security guard dozing off in the security booth at the entrance. The surveillance camera had been broken for an unknown period of time. It hung above the entrance, covered in dust.
Cao Mei walked deeper into the cluster in her high heels. Faint streetlamps glowed on both sides of the road.
The sound of high heels echoed in the quiet neighborhood. Cao Mei was talking on the phone to her friend when she suddenly heard a meow from ahead.
Cao Mei’s eyes lit up. She smiled and called out, “Kitty?”
“Meow, meow.” The cat mewed delicately.
“Kitty, come over here. I have delicious food.” Cao Mei liked cats and dogs very much. She always carried some treats on her. She smiled as she ventured toward one of the more remote buildings in the cluster.
“Meow, meow, meow.” The cat sounded like it was inside the building.
The light at the entrance of the building was not lit. It appeared to be broken.
Not wanting to alarm the kitten, Cao Mei scattered a handful of cat food near the entrance of the building and waited quietly for the kitten to appear.
As expected, a snow-white kitten walked out of the unit and lowered its head to eat the cat food.

Cao Mei looked at the kitten in glee and reached out to stroke its head.
The kitten was very obedient. It let Cao Mei stroke its head as it continued to eat happily.
Cao Mei had been exhausted from work, but she now felt completely refreshed. She smiled and continued to stroke the kitten. Suddenly, she heard a faint noise coming from the building.
“Kitty?” Cao Mei thought that there were more stray cats. She smiled and said, “Kitty, don’t be afraid. Come out and eat.”
Just as Cao Mei finished speaking, a man’s palm suddenly reached out from the dark entrance and grabbed her wrist tightly.
Cao Mei’s heart skipped a beat as she screamed, “Ah—!”
The man had very sharp nails, different from normal humans. They looked more like cat claws. The sharp claws pierced into Cao Mei’s flesh and injected her with a special poison.
Cao Mei collapsed weakly. She was still conscious, but she couldn’t move.
The man released her arm and dragged her into the darkness.

Cao Mei couldn’t see the man clearly. Her clothes were torn, and the man’s saliva dripped onto her chest.
At this moment, the lights in one of the rooms on the fourth floor of the opposite building suddenly lit up. Immediately after, the window was pushed open and a man stood by the window, smoking.
Cao Mei stared pleadingly at the middle-aged man. He seemed to be able to feel her burning gaze and looked down.
Cao Mei had been dragged into the building, but her head was still exposed outside the dark entrance. She continued to stare at the man pleadingly.
“A woman…?” The middle-aged man looked at Cao Mei in confusion. He couldn’t understand why a woman was lying at the dark entrance of the building.
At this moment, a clear tearing noise could be heard.
Cao Mei’s body trembled as if in spasms. The sound of her body being forcefully ripped apart echoed through the air. Blood splattered onto Cao Mei’s face and the ground.
