Fate’s Destined Match

1

Leshak removed his hand.

His tightly closed eyes were exposed.

Leshak’s hand caressed the corners of his eyes. Every time his nails brushed against the tip of his eyelashes, Radan shook and shuddered.

He was so lovely that Leshak couldn’t even comprehend himself. And he was afraid.

He knew how Radan’s words made him.

He’ll open his eyes and walk through a nightmare. A nightmare that is no different from reality.

“Don’t touch me, my Lord. My eyes are,”

“Can’t I touch you now?”

“I have to cover my eyes,”

“Can’t you? Do you think you will ever forgive me?”

“That is…… what,”

“I can’t let you go, Radan.”

Leshak grabbed Radan’s face.

His forehead touched Radan’s forehead. Before that, the tip of his nose touched first. The sounds of breathing that had collided before, were mingled with each other.

“If you say no, I will tie you up.”

He knew his mind couldn’t be forced.

It was both ridiculous and terrifying for those words to come out of his mouth.

It was the first time that Leshak knew that he could be such a disgusting human being.

“You can’t leave me, Radan. So I’m telling you,”

Leshak paused and took a breath.

It was a blessing that humans could not look into other people’s heads. Radan did not know what he was thinking now.

That was fortunate enough.

“…… Give up, accept me. Even if you don’t like it, it changes nothing. So just give up.”

Radan said he liked him.

He also said that he was engaged to someone else.

Only one or the other could be true.

What he has given to Radan, the Lord of the Gett could also have given him.

The difference between him and Ozdin Gett is the fact that he can become far more terrifying and disgusting.

He could tie him up at any time.

So if that he could hold on to him.

“Your Majesty, I…… ”

Radan opened his lips intermittently.

When he looked at him, it seemed like he was losing his mind. He was terrifyingly beautiful and lovely. And that was frightening.

What he had given to Radan was perhaps the part of himself he needed the most to keep himself intact.

But he could never get it back again.

It was the reason why he had to keep him by his side even if he had to tie him up.

“I will not let you go.”

His eyelids trembled under his closed eyes, and his eyelashes fluttered.

With his face clenched, Radan made a very complex expression.

“I think that…… well I don’t know …… what do you mean.”

“It’s simple. If you want to get away from me, open your eyes. It is only then that you will be able to escape. If you can’t do it, please allow me, and love me again.”

“It’s…….”

Radan was silent for quite some time.

Until Leshak’s hand crawled on his face and left a mark on his cheek.

“…… I lied…… I deceived you…… I’m a Kemenedite…… so I don’t……know why…… why……you’re telling me to…… love you.”

It was a difficult conversation to have, so he stopped speaking in between.

“I…… I was supposed to kill you, Your Majesty…… So I lied and stayed by your side……that’s why…….”

Radan stopped talking and swallowed. His mouth kept getting dry.

“So….. I thought……Your Highness must have been angry. So why?

“That’s alright, I guess”

It was a pity that the moon had already set.

He wanted to know the way Radan looked, as he opened his eyes and looked at him. At the same time, he didn’t want to know.

“It was a matter that could have been easily forgotten had you given me a few excuses. But I don’t even need that now. I just want to keep you by my side no matter what.”

“So……why,”

“My heart is here.”

Leshak placed his right hand on Radan’s heart.

“Even if you didn’t know, even if you didn’t want to.”

“… …”

“So I have no choice. I can’t rip my chest open and pull my heart out.”

Leshak’s face was bitter and dark as he spoke these words.

He knew what he was speaking of, just as he knew how coercive and violent it was.

He was a man who could shackle Radan as he tried to escape, and force him until he suffered.

“This is the last time, Radan. If you can’t forgive me, open your eyes. And if you can’t open your eyes, then, forgive me.”

“I”

Radan reached out.

He immediately touched Leshak’s face.

His shoulders shook. The fingers touching his skin trembled.

“I’ll forgive you…… it’s okay.”

Radan was crying.

“You never did anything to ask me for forgiveness. You never……”

He had never once hated Leshak.

He understood how the Spirit of Fire burned himself to create a basilisk. His heart was the same as when he first melted the Ice Mountains.

When he saw the corpse that filled the prayer room of Asilah’s palace, and when he held his father for the first time, Radan’s heart was the same.

The Spirit of Fire has broken God’s taboo.

God killed all of the Fire Clan to punish the Fire Spirit.

The punishment was his alone.

It’s not what Leshak deserved.

“…… I did not lie with my heart.”

Radan grabbed Leshak. Tears flowed and stained Leshak’s clothes.

“I love you, My Lord.”

 ”… …”

The sound of Leshak’s breath bound his heart first.

Then his arms came down and tied him up. Leshak hugged Radan as tightly as if it were engraved himself on his body.

Their bodies touched.

The sound of Radan’s heartbeat rang through his body.

He didn’t even know that it was his heart crying.

It was a meaningless distinction. His heart, swallowed by the Blue Snake, would have melted into Radan’s body, and become a part of Radan.

Now it was his turn to answer.

Leshak wanted to say something Radan could never forget again, like Radan’s words of love.

But no matter how much he thought about it, there seemed to be no better word than the words Radan spoke.

“Me too.”

After a little hesitation, Leshak finally said the same thing.

“I love you, Radan.”

Radan felt the same way.

He had just heard the best words in the world.

“That is not possible.”

Leshak, Radan, and Karum made similar expressions at the resolute voice of the handmaiden.

“It’s no use looking like that, My Lord. There will be no sweets for a patient who hasn’t been able to eat a proper meal recently.”

Their heads turned all at once to the doctor standing next to the handmaiden.

The doctor nodded slowly.

“If you want to suffer from diarrhea, then go ahead.”

“… …”

Radan took a bite of the confectionery and then quietly put it down.

Unfortunately, it was his favorite, the raspberry marchpane.

In front of Radan, there were as many sweets as Karum could get out of the chef at the detached palace. In other words, it was so much that the chef cursed Karum.

And it was so much that Radan could eat it for a week or so instead of a meal.

“Radan.”

Leshak placed a hand under Radan’s chin.

“Spit it out.”

“… …”

“Come on.”

The blindfolded Radan fumbled around looking for a place to spit it out. Leshak grabbed Radan’s head and fixed it in front of his palm.

“Just spit it out.”

Radan carefully spat out the marchpane he had taken a bite of.

He didn’t know that the place where he spat out the marchpane was into Leshak’s palm.

“Oh ……”

The handmaiden blushed in surprise.

“Your Majesty?”

Karum rolled his eyes at Leshak. Leshak looked at him with a gaze as though he accepted it.

The elderly maid cleared the sweets plate and placed the soup bowl in front of Radan.

She had already heard about who Radan was.

She didn’t know what to call this relationship. If Radan was just a prostitute that Leshak had picked up as was initially known, she would have thought it was the whim of a powerful man.

But Radan was a much more complex figure than that. Her feelings about having to deal with Radan were also complicated.

When Radan fell ill and injured, and thus a commotion ensued, and she had to take care of Radan, it went beyond the complexity.

She couldn’t believe what Leshak had done to Radan, so she grabbed Karum and asked.

‘What in the hell is going on here.’

With a slight cough, Karum said that even though it would be hard to believe it from the outside, His Majesty was sincere.

He said, although he made him look like a man that a beast chewed on and spat out, when he saw the expression on Leshak’s face as he looked at Radan, Karum thought that sincerity could also look like this.

And a while ago, oddly enough, he felt shy as he looked at them.

Was it because there were too many sweets? Was it because it smells too sweet?

Looking at the two, his taste buds were sweet.

The bite marks on the back of his neck didn’t seem very painful.

The handmaiden gave Radan a silver spoon, in a sensitive mood.

“It is a soup made from ground beef and potatoes. The patient has to eat things like these.”

She heard he was the Third Prince of Kemened, and he wasn’t blind but was always blindfolded, he nodded his pretty little round head.

“Yes, thank you.”

Even seeing him say hello, his heart seemed very kind.

Even though the blindfold covered his face, he looked very neat and pretty. Her heart was pounding at seeing such a pretty face.

“Then go ahead and eat.”

With the maid’s words, Radan moved the spoon.

She pushed the soup bowl close to his hand, but Radan only tapped the edge of the plate a couple of times before he was able to dip the spoon properly.

Unable to hold back a moment more, Leshak approached and took the spoon.

“It’s too hot, it’s dangerous.”

“It’s not very hot, my Lord.”

“No, it’s dangerous. It will be difficult if it’s overturned.”

“I won’t overturn it,”

“Well, it’ll be better for me to feed you.”

Leshak sat down on the bed. In a familiar manner, he scooped out the soup and fed it to Radan. It was once a habit.

There was no awkwardness at all with Leshak feeding him or Radan taking it.

“Oh my.”

But the handmaiden blushed.

Subsequently, the doctor tried to cough, but it was unsuccessful because Leshak suddenly asked something.

“What?”

After taking a bite of soup, Radan tilted his head.

“This…… I have eaten it.”

“Is that so?”

Leshak asked without thinking.

The soup, made from ground beef and potatoes, was an Ibeden-style dish. The first place Radan ate this was in the barracks of the Leshak Army.

Even then Leshak took the soup himself and fed it to him. It tasted the same as back then.

“At that time, Your Majesty said it was made from snake meat.”

“……Oh,”

The shiny silver spoon stopped awkwardly.

“You said you swore to the Gods.”

“… …”

“Did you even give me this back then?”

Leshak turned his head and coughed a little. It was unfamiliar to them to see him embarrassed with his whole body.

The handmaiden laughed involuntarily.

Radan didn’t know the details of what happened, but it seemed that the Crown Prince had done something that would make him embarrassed.

So his heart felt ticklish.

Because when a man is sincere, he often does stupid things regardless of saving face.

“Your Majesty. We’re going to leave now.”

The handmaiden thought that she should make time for just the two of them.

It was a better time, for just the two of them.

Soon the sun will set and a warm evening will begin, followed by a windless night.

The war was not over yet, and she thought that there was no future for him as a male lover, but she wondered what he would do.

It was not the job of the maidservant of the detached palace to talk about the Crown Prince’s personal affairs.

The head of the Palace and the Nobles will call the Ministers of the Main Palace, and they will talk about it. But she wanted to see more of this pretty prince.

“Call me when you need to get ready for bed.”

She left the Crown Prince’s room with a doctor who was eager to talk for a while about what to do if Radan should have a fever, or what to do with medicine.

Somehow, tonight, he felt like his dreams were going to be sweet. He thought it would be a peaceful night like this. But before the night came, there was something approaching ahead of it.

“Why today?”

Ozdin asked, looking at the sky which had taken on a strange color as evening and night began to mix.

The sky, which was neither black nor red, was quietly and rapidly encroaching into a color that could be called ominous.

From various angles.

The cart, which was made solely for the purpose of loading cargo without considering the safety of the passengers, rolled with a loud noise.

The speed was surprisingly slow compared to the sound.

“Don’t you know? You’re the Lord of the Gett.”

The Prophet Hadir bluntly asked the question.

Ozdin wondered what in the world might surprise him. Hadir looked like someone who knew in advance that he would ask such a question.

“I don’t know now. I lost contact with the attendants.”

The connection with the informants who had quickly inquired about the situation on the continent was also cut off.

Ozdin Gett was isolated in a faraway foreign country.

This unfamiliar experience was making Ozdin a little bit different without him realizing it.

“Right. Then let’s watch. You’ll find out soon.”

The Prophet Hadir didn’t speak except to say what was absolutely necessary.

It was something Ozdin realized while hanging out with him for a week.

At the same time, Ozdin and his party also became less talkative. Even Zorg made no complaints about this uncomfortable cart.

Still, there was something he needed to hear today.

Ozdin looked straight into Hadir’s eyes and asked.

“Tell me one thing. Is Radan de La Ranadia my destined match?”

Hadir asked instead of giving an answer.

“What do you call destiny?”

“Something that has to be that way.”

Ozdin’s reply was unpretentious.

It’s something he’d been thinking and thinking over and over for the past week.

“Something that’s necessary. No matter what you do, you can’t deny it. That is fate.”

Hadir nodded.

“If you know that, you will meet him.”

“Am I going to see Radan again today?”

“Yes.”

The blind prophet saw the night that had yet to come.

He began to smile.

“Tonight.”

Then.

A procession of carts hauling cargo reached the main gate of the Cythern Palace.

“Oh, I’m late. Why is the chief servant telling me to bring so much this time? … I struggled a bit trying to get it all.”

“It’s Alton. Wait a minute. I will open the gate.”

“Yes, yes.”

Cythern Palace guards knew the face of the merchant who delivered supplies to the detached palace. He was lucky enough to have done business with the imperial family for over ten years.

Awesome, yes!

The gate opened.

The guards allowed the Alton Company carts to cross the drawbridge without any suspicion or search. Without even dreaming that one of them would have people along with cargo riding on it.

The night had just begun.
