I nodded. “Yes! Is that a problem?” I tilted my head and thought for a moment. “It was hard for the four of us to get together, so we went to celebrate. We patronized a Cantonese restaurant. We happened to bump into Gu Nian there. He said his assistant had recently left for personal reasons and he needed a new stand-in, so we recommended Lu Yan to him. They had an interview on the spot.
