72 Chapter 72: Resolve!

Alex screamed as he spat out a mouth full of blood while getting thrown a few meters back. He managed to regain balance and land on his feet but then Cherry had no intentions of relenting in his attacks. His serious expression showed he was done playing around and had decided to take Alex’s life!.
Meanwhile, Alex was torn on what to do. While his gold tier secret technique is strong it was like a double-edged sword. Should he go all out here and use it on the enemy it simply means he won’t be able to battle another person, he will be too weakened to fight anyone else and the operation just began and there are a lot more kids to save!
But if he doesn’t use it, he will be killed here and he won’t be able to save anyone. His eyes met Blake’s face and he could still see the determination blazing in the boy’s eyes and for the first time in a long while, Alex felt ashamed. When it matters the most he got flustered and lost his cool.
How is he supposed to be a symbol of peace people depend on when he gets easily distracted?
Alex roared in his mind as his eyes yanked open, flaring up with determination!
The wall of Cherry blossom petals was about to collapse on him but suddenly a fierce explosion could be heard shattering the wall.
“What?” Cherry was stunned, as well as Blake.
They both expected Alex to die there but suddenly the air around him changed and this happened. The pink petals fell slowly while Alex stood at the center like a god with his fist bleeding but raised high. His gaze was fierce and his eyes didn’t lack any form of confidence!

“So Cool!” Blake’s eyes widened with shock as a bright smile appeared on his face.
He knew who Alex is and he knew the power of the Briggs. Even without a deviant power humans can actually be this strong! The little boy couldn’t help but feel excited.
“Little guy, stay still... This will all be over in an instant!” Alex said with a voice filled with confidence while he took bold steps forward.
“Cocky Brat!!!” Cherry growled and swung his hand fan fiercely.
More cherry-blossom petals appeared from nowhere and charged forward. At that point, Alex simply took a deep breath, a step forward, and punched forward ruthlessly. His gaze was firm and his eyes were filled with confidence. The ball of petals shattered on his fist while blood squirted out of his fist but his eyes remained firm and cold.
Alex knew the location of the battle did not favor him in any way. The little space here made it hard to dodge and even if he dodges, it will allow the enemy to attack from behind, forcing him to fend against an enemy from two fronts. Right now his only option is to face the enemy head on.
Meanwhile, Cherry was enraged. Although his deviant ability could be considered one of the few with the least explosive power amongst B-rated deviants, it’s not something a child should be able to deal with. Just like Alex, the location of battle did not favor him much as well. If there was more space he would have been able to make use of the quantity of petals he could create and assault Alex from all sides.
His ability may lack quality but it had quantity!
“In that case, Let’s see how long you can hold on!” Cherry growled as he waved his fan violently.
Countless cherry blossom petals formed endlessly, surging towards Alex. Seeing this even Blake paled, the petals kept generating and surging forward, it was clear Cherry wanted to drown Alex with the sheer quantity of his power!
“YOU UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A BRIGGS!” Alex roared like a fierce beast as he took in his next breath and began punching out with both hands.

With each punch, a loud sound erupted and more petals surged forward, replacing the ones blown away but Alex just kept punching and taking in breathes without exhaling! Blood splattered everywhere and his fists were turning purple but he didn’t care anymore!

Klay walked into the middle school building with a calm look on his face. Unlike Alex he didn’t choose to go through the window, instead, he walked through the front door confidently.
It was a large hallway with many lockers at the sides. There was only three ways out of this room, one was a massive stair at the otherr end of th room, leading to higher floors while the others were two corridors leading to different classrooms by the sides.
He could feel powerful shockwaves coming from the corridor by the left and numerous Tyrant gang goons were watching from a safe distance. Klay’s arrival caught their attention and they quickly pulled their guns and shot fiercely. Bullets and Lazer beams erupted from different angles and raced towards Klay but he only responded by yawning and using his hands to cover his mouth.

Countless explosions erupted and thick black smoke rose. Everyone watched attentively in hopes of seeing the dismembered body of the youth but when the smoke cleared, Klay stood there with a bored look on his face. His clothes were perfectly clean and something like a yellow aura spread across his boy, preventing the attacks from reaching him.
“YOU UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A BRIGGS!”
The furious cry echoed in the room at this point and even Kaly was slightly stunned. His eyes drifted towards that corridor and a simple smile bloomed on his face.
