A few days after the trial, the sentence was executed.

The Duke of Eloa’s estate was confiscated and it was discovered that his treasury was heavily filled.

There were so many things he accumulated that it was enough to pay taxes for several years.

Also, his family was downgraded to commoners, and the Duke of Eloa had a red stamp on his forehead as a sinner.

Two knights tied the Duke of Eloa to a rope and began to circle around the capital.

He always rode a carriage, so he was not used to walking, thus he walked until his feet swell.

Wherever the Duke of Eloa went, people swore and threw stones at him. But the duke could not stop walking.

While the Duke of Eloa was being punished, Zigrit was also dragged out of prison. He was tied and brought to the square where he appeared before the imperial people in the past.

It was a miserable end that people could not even imagine for him, who once looked down upon the people from the top of the city walls.

The imperial people who respected him trembled with the thoughts of being betrayed and castigated him.

The knights protected Zigrit, but could not quell the anger of the imperial people.

Two days after Zigrit was hung in the square. Only a neckless body remained where he was supposed to be hanging.

There was a great disturbance throughout the capital, and half a day later it was proved to be Zigrit’s body. But no matter how many times they searched around, they never found his head.

Now Zigrit’s body would be buried without a head.

A week after everything was in order, the death of Empress Tersia became known throughout the empire.

Thinking Zigrit was dead, she suffered severe depression and went mad, leaving the palace at dawn.

Then the next morning, the body of the empress was found hanging in the forest of the Imperial Palace.

Most thought she died following Zigrit.

Sometimes, some people suspected that the empress was strangled, not suicide, as they wondered how she managed to sneak out, but their opinions were soon dismissed.

The funeral where the empress was mourned was only three days. It had no formality to it, and the empire’s flag was not properly attached.

The nobles, the commoners, quickly forgot Tersia.

Last but not least, the emperor, Barmun, was still breathing in the deepest part of the palace.

Yerhan did not kill Barmun. Instead, he brought more terrible things than death.

Yerhan gave a small window to Barmun’s room. If he looked out the window, he could see the Emperor Palace where he used to live. He had no choice but to watch the glorious sight from afar.

Barmun, who had been locked up alone like that, chose to step back as emperor. He realized that holding on to his position was nothing but misery.

When the throne was empty, the nobles took advantage of the time to tell Yerhan that he should be crowned emperor, not crown prince.

It was only a matter of time before Barmun abdicated the throne, so Yerhan did not reject their request.

So time passed and spring came. It was time for plants to sprout all over the Imperial Palace, and buildings that had been destroyed were almost renovated.

The coronation of Yerhan and Rosena was a month away, and those who worked at the palace were busy preparing for the coronation.

Yerhan personally ordered everything necessary for the coronation. From the fitting of the new crown to the venue for the coronation and the types of flowers used for decoration, he carefully selected them.

While everything was going smoothly, Rosena was also breathlessly busy.

Rosena, who became the mistress of the Imperial Palace, had to take care of all the internal affairs, starting with the housekeeping of the palace.

She had never been educated as an empress, so just studying was too much.

Even though Yerhan came back urgently from work, there were days when Rosena was busy and couldn’t even talk properly.

Yerhan complained and grieved alone that the empress is busier than the emperor. He wanted to tell her not to do anything.

When they kept falling apart like that, one day, they were able to finally match their schedules and had lunch together.

“…Haa.”

As Rosena took a deep breath, Yerhan reflexively put down the spoon. He was a man who thought that if Rosena took a breath, the land would sink.

“Is there a problem?”

“Ah. Nothing.”

As Rosena shook her head, Yerhan gave a persistent look. Then Rosena finally opened her mouth.

“That’s… I have something to pick up.”

“What to pick up?”

Yerhan looked puzzled.

After a moment of hesitation, Rosena confessed frankly.

“Madam Elisha of Astania sent me a gift to congratulate me… I have to go get it myself.”

It was difficult to tell Yerhan because she had kept it secret from him until now, that she had exchanged letters to Astania.

“Are you sure you have to go in person?”

Rosena nodded. Because it was a secret operation, she couldn’t call the owner to the Imperial Palace.

There was a reason why others couldn’t receive it unless it was her or her family.

“Then I will go.”

“But you’re busy.”

“It’s all right. Because tomorrow is my day off.”

Actually, it was clear that he would be busy tomorrow, but he could always spare time for Rosena.

It seemed to be a good idea to buy a present for Rosena when she went out.

“Thank you.”

Rosena looked at Yehan with a genuinely apologetic face.

In a warm atmosphere, Illian, who was watching the two, snapped his fork down.

“I’ll go, too!”

The eyes of the two fell on Illian at once.

Illian took turns looking at Rosena and Yerhan and said clearly.

“I want to be of help to mom, too.”

“You’re….”

“Ah! It’s also good for you to go out with Illian.”

She said with a smile, the father-son had never gone out together before.

Yerhan paused for a moment and nodded. When she looked at him with such expectations, he didn’t want to disappoint her.

Eventually, Yerhan decided to go out with Illian.

The next morning, Yerhan finished his morning shift and was ready to go out.

Rosena ran to the Empress Palace early in the morning today, so he couldn’t even greet her.

“What are you doing? You’re not going?”

Illian, who was well dressed, asked.

Yerhan sighed at the harsh tone.

Illian and Yerhan were getting along a lot better than they used to, but Rosena was always in the focus.

There were many times when he thought Illian was cute, but at other times, he was still a mean kid.

Especially when they were arguing over Rosena, and he called him a bad guy.

“Let’s go.”

Yerhan reached out to Illian.

Illian stared at the hand, Yerhan asked.

“Do you want me to carry you?”

“No! I’m not even a child anymore.”

Yerhan grinned upon seeing his dumbfounded expression.

He is only seven years old this year, what does he mean he’s not a kid?

But without any comment, he followed Illian.

Yerhan and Illian went out of the Imperial Palace by carriage and got off an alleyway in the capital.

Both of them were noticeable blonds, so they each wore a deep hat and a black cape. They looked like they’re father and son to anyone who saw them.

Yerhan and Illian, who left the alley, began walking on the street. Stories of one sort or another flowed in from around.

“I think it’s gotten better these days.”

“I’m also just waiting for the coronation. It would be a great honor to see the new emperor in person.”

People who were walking down the street talked about the imperial family.

These days, Yerhan and Rosena’s popularity hit the sky, and whenever people had time, they talked about the imperial family.

The previous emperor and empress were the villains who had deceived the imperial people by pretending that the crown prince had defeated the monsters, and rumors circulated that Yerhan and Rosena had defeated them after a long struggle.

So everyone was looking forward to the coronation.

Yerhan and Illian walked along the rough map drawn by Rosena, listening to the conversation of the passers-by like it was nothing special.

However, it was difficult to find the way because it was not a well-drawn map.

“Is it this way?”

“No, it’s here.”

As they quarreled head-to-head, a new alley appeared. The two looked at each other at the same time.

“Should we go in?”

Yerhan asked, and Illian nodded.

As they entered the alley, a sunny t-junction opened.

It was a road where sophisticated shops huddled together.

Yerhan and Illian began eagerly looking around the store.

Both were not interested in shopping, but it was more fun than anything else in the world to think of it as looking for a gift for Rosena.

Illian, who was looking at the dress beyond the window, stopped in front of a store. It was a jewelry store, and the red necklace displayed in the center of the store was impressive.

Red jewels were studded like stars adorned the necklace.

Earrings with the same jewels dangling like grapes were also noticeable.

“It’ll suit mom!”

When Illian spoke with admiration, Yerhan, who was watching with him, agreed. It was a color that matched Rosena’s red hair.

Yerhan, who briefly imagined Rosena wearing it, smiled.

Any accessory would be pretty, but he thought this necklace would look really good on her.

Yerhan entered the store without hesitation.

The bell on the store door rang, and the clerk came out from the inside.

The clerk opened his eyes wide and welcomed Yerhan and Illian with a big smile.

“Welcome.”

“I want to see that necklace.”

Yerhan pointed to the necklace in the display case. The clerk nodded and guided the two to the sofa.

“Please have a seat for a moment.”

Another clerk quickly brought out tea, and Illian and Yerhan sat on the sofa and looked around the store.

Looking at it roughly, there were many jewels that would go well with Rosena. But the best one was the necklace they just saw.

They were waiting while drinking the tea the clerk handed them, and the bell rang again.

“Welcome.”

As a new customer came in, another clerk responded quickly.

The man with a mustache and a fedora hat came in, tapping a cane full of jewels.

A man with accessories all over his body shrugged his shoulders and chimed in.

“Well, it’s not a bad store. It’s not as good as the one I usually go to.”

The man looked around as he spit out words full of bluff. However, Yerhan and Illian only drank their tea with no interest in the new customer.

The man who had been bragging about how expensive his ring was for a long time brought up his point.

“I’m going to buy the red jewel necklace displayed in front of the store.”

Yerhan and Illian turned their heads at the same time.

At the request of the man, the employee looked at Yerhan and Illian with puzzled eyes.

Receiving the gaze, Yerhan and Illian jumped to their feet without saying anything to each other.

“Why are you standing so far away? I told you I want to see that necklace.”

The man urged the clerk to go and get the necklace.

The clerk did not know what to do, and only looked alternately at Yerhan and the man.

When the clerk did not come to bring out the necklace, the man who was about to raise his voice looked up at the shadow cast in front of him and looked up.

“…..”

The man flinched when he saw Yerhan’s physique. His stature and broad shoulders made him feel intimidating.

“I will buy that necklace.”

Yerhan said softly.

Then the man’s eyes quickly swept over Yerhan.

Currently, Yerhan only wore a minimal amount of accessories to avoid attracting attention.

Perhaps the man estimated Yerhan’s wealth with his attire, he smirked.

“It’s obviously not something you can afford.”
