Four APV's drove into Ubud village. It was 5 hours away from Star Base. Ubud village, although the location was quite remote, was a famous tourist attraction. It was actually in the top 5 must-go places on any travel destination websites. The village was placed up in the hills and surrounded by forests and rivers. There were many 5 stars hotels and villas, gift shops, restaurants, and temples. Ubud village had its famous name, but these places were supposed to have more people than many other Bali cities. Every day and night the village was full of tourists and locals, but when the group arrived in the middle of the village, what they found puzzled them.
It was too quiet. There weren't even any zombies, except the ones following the APV from outside the village. The group stopped in front of the village entrance and cleared up all the zombie stragglers, and slowly circled the village... They checked some of the shops and houses, but could not find a single body. It took the group an hour to drive around the village. There were at least 50.000 people that lived here, now it became a ghost village.
The sacred monkey forest was a popular tourist attraction. It was placed just in the corner of the village. There was a wall all around the forest separating the forest and the city. The entrance was quite small and couldn't be entered by vehicles. In front of the gates, there were big open fields and rows of dozens of two-story shops. There were supposed to be more than 700 monkeys living in this forest, but even up until in front of the forest, the group didn't see any one of them. The APV stopped here and the group went into one of the buildings, it's a two stories cafe.
Alex gathered the group in front of a big table and started to discuss tactics.
"The sacred monkey forest is 10 hectares big, but it's connected to the jungles that run into the mountain... we came here to hunt the monkeys."
"Really? Anyone here brought bananas?"
"Hahahaha... good one bro."
These were the 19 years old twins Oscar and Oliver. They were originally troublemakers, the recent advancement into peak stage mortal realm made them even more undisciplined and arrogant.
Alex didn't really bother about it. Boys will be boys, they will soon understand.
"Don't get me wrong.. we won't find monkeys in there, they will look more like gorillas, even bigger... A single shot won't kill them. You probably need to shoot a dozen bullets in a critical area before they go down."
In Alex's previous life, the Bali survivors came to this place later on after the doomsday pillars arrived. Many from the group were already earth rank fighters. Not only were they stronger, but many of them also had artifacts. Even with such a group, there were still some casualties. If Alex didn't prepare properly, this group could easily be wiped out by the mutated monkeys.
"Going inside and fighting the monkey in their forest will be suicidal. We need to lure them out."
"We will strategically place the APV's in these four locations outside the gate and place mines in this location and the three squads will form a defensive formation from inside the buildings."
"These monkeys are smart, but they are still animals and will follow their instincts. If we bring thousands of troops guns blazing inside, they will run to the jungle, it will be harder to find them. This is our chance to clean up the threat early before they get stronger."
"All 30 special forces will stay and guard here, Cindy and Theo you will stay here too"

"Let me participate, in a sight of trouble I will run back, I promise."
Alex saw the conviction in his best friend eyes, he really needed to believe in Theo and let him get stronger... hopefully he won't regret this... Alex didn't even need to see Cindy's face. That girl already put on her puppy eyes to be included in the team.
Therefore all 14 people went inside. Aria always with her sniper rifle, Jerry with his double knives, Sergei holding a shotgun, Oscar and Oliver holding double sabers, Darius with sword and shield. Rama and the four masters holding spears. Theo and Cindy using assault rifles and pistols. With Alex, all 14 already reached peak stage mortal realm. They will go inside and lure the monkeys.
The park is heavily forested and hilly. A deep ravine runs through the park grounds, at the bottom of which flows a rocky stream. Trails allowed visitors access to many parts of the park, including the ravine and stream. The trees are so tall that it almost covers the sky. The smallest tree was at least one meter thick in diameter, the largest ones went up to 5 meters. It seemed that these trees were probably 1000 years old.
The group walked a few hundred meters, the peak stage mortal realm had their perception much improved. Alex and the others already noticed some movement surround them and many eyes staring at them. There were at least a few dozen of them.
A few minutes later, the group arrived at the end of the road, it's a temple named Zaith. The temple has a big human face at its entrance with yellow eyes. There were some snakes statues next to it.
"Whatever the condition, it's imperative to not enter the temple."
Alex seemed highly concerned about what's within the temple.
"The monkeys are the guardians of the temples and we don't want to fight both the guardian and what's inside together."
"This is the end of the road, most of the monkeys should have noticed us. They are now calculating our strength, the more of their kinds joins the show, the more confident they are. We also need to make them angry for them to chase us out."
"How about both of you boys like to contribute for this important task?"
Alex told Oscar and Oliver something and both of them laughed... they walked to the corner of the temple and took a piss on the wall...

A few of the mutated monkeys finally showed up in front of the groups. The smallest was 1.5 meters tall, the biggest 2.5 meters tall... Their furs are greys and silvery at the back. These were the long-tailed monkeys, their tail is around 2 meters long and thick. Their eyes were red and dozen sharp teeth could be seen coming out of their closed mouths. They looked really mad and jumped up to the twins.
The twins were prepared, they both took out their saber and quickly dodged to the side, one from the right, the other from the left. They each took one and slashed the big mutated monkey's bodies...
SWISHH!!..
A peak stage mortal realm had its strength doubles. Blood could be seen dripping from their sabers, it was a deep cut...but...
"WATCH OUT!!" Alex screamed!!
The mutated monkey really did get cut, but it didn't seem to affect them at all. Oscar was suddenly slammed by the monkey and got thrown away 3 meters, while Oliver got grabbed by the other one and being tackled down. These mutated monkeys were as strong and fast as them... The scene shocked the whole group. Oscar who got thrown saw this and suddenly regretted his carelessness and screamed help for his brother when...
"BANG"
The mutated monkeys that grab Oliver got shot in the brain through the eyes. It was Aria...
Alex also rushed up and quickly decapacitated the other monkey who was attacking Oscar from behind.. a monkey head rolls...
"I told you not to underestimate them, hit their critical areas!"
Suddenly a few dozen walk out from behind the trees... Everyone from the group took a defensive stance...
"LOOK UPPP!!" Alex screamed.
The group suddenly shocked.... few dozen mutated monkeys were already up in the air jumping down from the trees... It was now raining monkeys...
