Ye Xixi's jaws clenched and glared at her stupid nephew and Lu Tianxin.
"Lady Song, it's sort of a family matter. This…"
"If it's a family matter, then you shouldn't have taken Moyu's children, don't you think?" Song Huifen gave her a pointed look. "We could have sent the authorities here and charged you for kidnapping if we didn't consider your reputation."
"Taking away the Tang twins… does the Ye family think they could bully anyone they like?" She smiled arrogantly.
"It's just a misunderstanding, Lady song." Ye Xixi gave her a sour smile. "I didn't mean any harm towards the two of them. As for Lu Ziluo, you have to understand that he's part of the Ye family and Lu Tianxin had illegally taken him away from us. In fact, we just ran a DNA test on him today and the results confirmed that the boy is really a Ye and not Lu Tianxin's son."
"So what do you plan to do now?" Song Huifen tapped her chin curiously as she regarded the other woman. "According to his legal papers, Lu Tianxin is his legal mother. Do you plan to contest this in court?"
"Why, of course!" Ye Xixi scoffed before glaring at Ye Xiaozu and Lu Tianxin. "She isn't fit to raise a Ye child, and I don't believe that Xiaozu can be responsible for him either. So, I, as his concerned grandmother, am willing to step up and take charge in raising Yimei's child."
"You can't do that!" Lu Tianxin exclaimed. "Luo Luo is my son! Sister Yimei left him to me."
Ye Xixi scoffed and picked up her own teacup.
"Yimei was a foolish child back then. Why would she leave the boy in your care? Were you planning to use him to gain something from our family in the future?"
It was Ye Xiaozu's turn to snap at his aunt.
"Take it back! Tianxin is anything but that!"
He didn't want anyone to badmouth Lu Tianxin, not after what she'd done for him and his sister's sake.
"A bold claim from you. How do you plan to fight for his custody when you can't even prove that you're capable of taking care of your family business?" The empress dowager's eyes peered on Ye Xixi while Tang Moyu gave her a hard look.
Ye Xixi's hair on the back of her neck bristled from Song Huifen's taunting. It seemed like the apple didn't fall far from the tree. No wonder Song Huifen spawned the devil, turns out, she herself was a witch in the making.
"That's too low, even for someone like you, Lady Song." Ye Xixi hissed back at the empress dowager.
"That's not true! I did not…" Ye Xixi took a deep breath, "stop making this about me. The issue here is Lu Tianxin had taken away a child from the Ye family. How can I just overlook the fact that an outsider is raising one of our own?"
"Hmm… is that all? Well, there's only one plausible solution to all of this." Song Huifen inclined her head to look at Ye Xiaozu and Lu Tianxin's way. "That is for these two to get married and raise the boy as their own."
Lu Tianxin opened her mouth to complain, but no words came out because she was shocked by Lady Song's proposition. To marry Ye Xiaozu? Was Lady Song serious?
Weren't there any other solutions for this issue between her Luo Luo and the Ye family? Even if Ye Xiaozu wasn't engaged anymore, she wasn't sure about his feelings for her at this moment. Marriage was just impossible for them.
"That can't be. Xiaozu is currently engaged to the daughter of the Wu family from Singapore." Ye Xixi frowned, although she must admit that Lady Song's suggestion made sense. Not only would the boy be willing to be raised as a Ye with his mother by his side, it would also open her nephew's eyes to the weight of the responsibility he held in his position.

"But that's not what I heard from your nephew. He said he and Elaine Wu had already dissolved their engagement." She said before sighing. "I know this might sound outrageous, but please do consider." She told Lu Tianxin who'd lowered her head, thinking how unfair it was for her and her son to be dragged into this mess.
Why couldn't they just leave them alone? Even if her Luo Luo was a Ye, she just wanted the boy to grow up happy and content. She didn't want to put pressure on her son, to raise him as an heir of a prominent family.
"How do I know that Xiaozu would stop chasing around skirts and be responsible for his sister's child?" Ye Xixi ignored the way her nephew looked at her with indignation. "Lu Tianxin is incapable of bearing a child. How sure are we that she would be able to raise Ziluo as the sole heir of the Ye family?" She added.
Ye Xiaozu looked at his aunt like she'd grown another head over her shoulder. What did she say? What did she mean by Lu Tianxin couldn't bear any child?
