"I see." Tang Moyu replied, not knowing how she should react to it.

Feng Tianyi rarely talked about his family. In fact whenever he talked about his father, he had this sadness in his eyes that he tried to hide from her. She wondered what kind of relationship he had with his father.

Feng Tianyi laughed at her awkward expression.

"Hey, no chick flick here, darling. I don't like where this is going." He shook his forefinger at her.

Tang Moyu shrugged. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I'm simply curious because it's obvious that you are closer to the Song family, especially Song Fengyan."

Thinking about it, Feng Tianyi seemed closer to his cousin Song Fengyan and had a better brotherly relationship with him than with his half brother, Feng Tianhua.

"The Song family treated me well and they have never forced me to do anything I don't want to." Unlike his father, he added in his mind.

"Anyway…" Feng Tianyi was more interested in the empress's lips that looked enticing as she unconsciously licked her lips.

He reached out his long fingers to touch her face, freezing Tang Moyu in her seat as she stared at him with wide eyes.

"W-what?" She stuttered. Fortunately for her, her little buns were so busy playing that they hadn't noticed what Feng Tianyi was doing to their mother.

"Shh…" Feng Tianyi hushed. "Just give me a few moments to look at you. You were always away and only came back at night. I feel like a housewife waiting patiently at home for her husband's return." He chuckled.

Tang Moyu snorted at that, but didn't pull away from his touch. She'd never met a man as interesting as he was. She'd never thought that the devil everyone was talking about could be this flirty and playful.

There was never a single good word said about him. In fact, what Tang Moyu knew about Feng Tianyi was based on how the public perceived him to be. People said he was temperamental and ruthless, not only to his employees but also to his business partners and associates.

She wondered if those were true or not. Public's opinion could easily be manipulated and that was never a good thing. People tend to fear what they don't know and don't understand.

"Don't look at me like that, Moyu. I so, so want to eat you. Don't tease me." Feng Tianyi's eyes darkened. His eyes revealed a trace of desire.

He released her from his grasp and kissed her temple. She would never understand how much he wanted her.

Tang Moyu patted the side of his face. Was this really the same devil people were talking about?

"Just who are you? What have you done to Feng Tianyi? Are you really the devil?" She asked, which made the devil burst into laughter.

"You better take care of yourself on that business trip." He said, pushing the tendrils of her hair away from her face. "Just come back to us as soon as you can, safely, or would you rather for me to bring you back?"

"I know. Do you still not trust me?" She raised a brow at him.

Tang Moyu was reminded of the words he had whispered to her days ago.

Feng Tianyi hummed and turned his head towards the sound of Little Star trying to feed the huge siberian husky lying on the ground.

"I trust you, Moyu. I really do, but I don't trust those people around you or myself…" He trailed off.

Tang Moyu nodded and twined her hand with his. "I know."

No one had trusted her to this extent and this was the first time she heard him say that he was afraid to hurt her himself.

"If it's possible… Moyu, I don't want you to get hurt. There's nothing more important than for you to be safe from harm, even if it is because of me." Feng Tianyi wanted to make sure that she would be fine, that no one would be able to hurt her again with him around.

He knew that she was just waiting for the next move from the Tang family and for what her 'mother' would do next, but he couldn't stay still, knowing someone was out there wanting to hurt his woman.

"There's no point worrying over something that isn't there, right?" She patted his hand, reassuringly. He still hadn't told her what was bothering him. What was the cause of all this uneasiness Feng Tianyi was feeling for these past few days?

"We will deal with it when the problem arrives, so for now, don't overthink and stress yourself with problems that aren't there in the first place. Sometimes, we cause more damage to ourselves than the problems itself."

When Feng Tianyi didn't say anything, but instead only stared at her blankly, she questioned him.

"What?"

Tang Moyu pulled away and resumed eating her ice cream. She only ignored it for a few minutes and it had already started to melt.

Ah, damn it. She cannot break her own rule to get another share when she and her little buns already had one. She didn't want to set bad examples for her children. A single mistake can turn into a habit, something she wasn't willing to be subjected to later.

Feng Tianyi grinned as he watched her eat. She was obviously upset over the predicament she was in.

"Nothing. I just realized that you are talking more and more these days."

When he first met her, Feng Tianyi could count with his fingers the number of words she spoke to him in a day. Now, she was getting more and more open to express herself, not only to him but to her friends as well, which was a good thing.

"Really? I didn't notice." Tang Moyu answered, as she helplessly scooped the melted ice cream from her cup. Guess, there was no helping it. She could only suck it up and accept her fate.
