Hearing her mother's name from the old woman's lips made Tang Moyu feel she had been poured with cold water over her head .  She stared at the retired nurse for a few seconds, not saying anything.

"H-how do you know her? If you don't mind me asking of course," she said once she recovered from her shock. To think that she would find and meet someone who personally knew her birth mother in this place— was it her luck?

The old woman pursed her lips as if she was afraid of something. She rubbed her arms as she looked around.

"I know who you are Miss Tang. I know you are Yu'er's daughter, but I don't want the Zhang family coming after me," she said nervously. She spotted two men standing a few meters away from them, but sighed with relief when she realized that they were Tang Moyu's bodyguards.

With those words, Tang Moyu finally understood why Head Nurse Yu wasn't comfortable being seen with her at the same place. She took the older woman's hands and begged her.

"If you know who I am, then you must know something about my mother. Please. I don't want to live the rest of my life in lies. I want to know the truth," she told her.

She could see that Head Nurse Yu was hesitating, but Tang Moyu wouldn't let this chance slip from her grasp. Now that she finally knew that her twin brother survived, wasn't it time for them to know the truth about their mother's death?

"Please. You have to help me, Madam."

For the first time in her life, Tang Moyu was willing to swallow her pride to get to the truth about her birth mother. She had no doubt that Zhang Jiren would do the same if they would be able to get some answers about their parents.

"I-I have to go, Miss Tang." The old woman released her hand from Tang Moyu's grasp, but suddenly felt guilty seeing the other's expression. She pulled something from her handbag and placed it in Tang Moyu's palm.

"Miss Tang, this isn't the right place to talk about this. Why don't you see me tomorrow in secret? We'll talk about this in private, okay? Don't let anyone know we've met each other— especially that crazy woman," she said, before returning to the hallway, giving Tang Moyu one last look before she disappeared in the crowd.

Tang Moyu glanced at the card that was left in her hand, memorizing the address with one look. Her eyes flashed with determination, eager to get to the bottom of this. Even though the old woman told her not to bring anyone, she couldn't possibly keep this secret from her twin brother.

After she was assured that the old nurse was able to leave without issue, Tang Moyu strode back to where she came from, aware that her bodyguards were following closely behind. She tried to keep her impassive mask on as she entered Li Meili's room where she found her friend nursing her newborn.

"Moyu, you came back." Li Meili's face lit up upon seeing her best friend. Her baby continued to suckle milk from her b.r.e.a.s.t, while Moyu scanned the place for her twin.

Zhang Jiren lay on the couch on the side of the room, sleeping. There was an obvious darkening under his eyes as he took a nap. Tang Moyu didn't dare to wake him up as she knew he was probably too exhausted and hadn't gotten any decent sleep since last night's event.

"How are you feeling?" Tang Moyu put her handbag down on the nearby table before taking a seat next to Li Meili's bed.

"Good but a little tired," Li Meili answered before glancing at Zhang Jiren's sleeping face. "But I guess he was more tired than I am."

She had never seen him rest until earlier when she convinced him to nap. Li Meili felt sorry seeing how attentive he was to her daughter and her family, keeping up with conversation, trying to be a good host to the guests when he mustn't have had any break.

Once Leyan was done with feeding, she yawned and wiggled in Li Meili's arm. With how frequently Leyan asked to be fed, Li Meili wondered if her daughter would become a butterball one of these days.

"Give her to me," Tang Moyu said, and Li Meili gently handed her over. The new mother then took this chance to cover herself and watch her friend talk to her baby.

Although this wasn't the first time Tang Moyu held her niece, her heart was still overwhelmed with tenderness and love as she held Beixuan's child in her arms. She had no doubt that if her younger brother were alive, he would have loved Leyan with all his heart.

"Be good to your Mommy, okay?" she murmured to the child with a gentle smile on her lips. "Auntie Moyu would always be here for you, so be a good child."

As if Leyan understood what she was saying, she took hold of Tang Moyu's forefinger before falling asleep in her arms.

"I didn't bring Baobao and Little Star with me, but they want to see Leyan so badly," she told Li Meili before putting the sleeping babe back in her cot.

Li Meili laughed at that. Those two always told her that they couldn't wait to see Leyan, even before she gave birth.

"I know. Your husband called me earlier and asked if I could send a few photos of Leyan, because your twins want to see her."

"Ah, I see they already got what they wanted. Tianyi really doesn't know how to say no to our children." Tang Moyu rubbed her temple before returning to her seat. "Is everything okay with your family? They didn't give you and Zhang Jiren a hard time?"

Li Meili shook her head.

"No. In fact, Dad was really happy meeting his first grandchild. I guess it was a dream come true for him. It was different when Yuanyi arrived with Miss Meng, though. I'm not surprised that he disapproved of her for my brother. It was really awkward seeing them in the same room."

"That's because your parents are too old-fashioned. It's not because Meng Yanran's first marriage failed and it was her fault," Tang Moyu said. "Anyway, why don't you catch up with sleep while I look after Leyan? You and your husband must be really tired."

"Thanks, Moyu. I'm glad you are here."

Initially, Li Meili was planning to wait for her husband to wake up before she slept. However, the long day had tired her out already and it was getting harder for her to stay awake.

"It's nothing, Meili. Isn't that what friends are for?"
