Feng Tianyi was busy tending to their crops, pruning and pulling out the weeds that had grown near their roots. When he heard the children's voices, he wheeled himself to the gazebo and removed his gloves before washing his hands with clean water.

"I'm here!" He called back to the little buns when he caught sight of them going inside the guest house.

The pair of sweet buns ran towards him with glee, wrapping their arms on either side of his and told him how they missed him already.

Feng Tianyi let out a laugh and allowed them to take a seat next to him.

"You've only been gone for a few hours and you are already missing me?" He said with amusement, realizing that in this world, Xiao Bao and Little Star were the first people who had loved him unconditionally, aside from his mother.

"En! We missed you, Uncle Ji. We picked Auntie Yaoyao up at the airport and she will be staying with us at the main house for the meantime." Xiao Bao explained.

Auntie Yaoyao? Feng Tianyi hummed. Tang Moyu hadn't told him that she was expecting another guest today. In fact, ever since Xu Wenyang and Lin Qianrou's visit, he noticed that the empress rarely talked to him these days, as if she was bothered by something she couldn't explain.

He wished he could ask her what it was, but every time he attempted to talk to her alone, Tang Moyu always found a way to dodge his questions, scampering away like a scared bunny. Ah, thinking about it, Feng Tianyi felt like he was a big bad wolf that couldn't wait to devour the innocent bunny.

"Was that why you two were crying earlier? Your eyes are a little red." He pointed out to the twins.

Xiao Bao shook his head while his sister lowered her head as if she was sad about something. Little Star was looking more and more like her mother these days, in Feng Tianyi's opinion.

"No, that's not it, Uncle Ji. We were just sad because Auntie Yaoyao said that we would have to leave our Mommy and live alone when we grow up. Is it true? But I don't wanna leave my mommy!" Little Star said with a trembling voice.

Feng Tianyi sighed and patted Little Star's cheek lovingly.

"Listen to Uncle Ji, Little Star. While it's true that some adults choose to live alone and leave their parents, it doesn't mean that you have to do the same. If you don't want to leave, I'm sure your Mommy wouldn't mind your company. No one's leaving your Mommy alone, okay?"

"Really?" Little Star sniffed and wiped her tears with the back of her hand. "We really don't have to leave our Mommy? What about you, Uncle Ji? Would you leave us in the future too?"

Someday…maybe after a year, he definitely had to move out of Peach Blossom Garden once the deal between him and Tang Moyu was fulfilled. But he didn't want to think about their parting in the future.

"Uncle Ji will stay with you and will always be with you as long as you still want me." He reassured them.

"Then make a pinky promise to us, Uncle Ji!" Xiao Bao insisted. He lifted a hand, his pinky pointed upwards. He gestured to Feng Tianyi to make a pinky promise to them.

"Yes, Uncle Ji! You cannot turn back on your words once you promise!" Little Star added.

"Alright, I pinky promise that I won't forget or dare to break my promise." Feng Tianyi had no other choice but to make a pinky promise to them.

"Shouldn't you be changing your clothes first before coming here?" Tang Moyu's voice reached his ears.

The two little buns pouted at their mother who arrived with their Auntie Yaoyao. Feng Tianyi's smile faltered the moment his eyes caught a familiar person standing behind Tang Moyu.

"We just want to see uncle Ji first, Mommy." Xiao Bao explained. "And Mommy, my clothes aren't as dirty as Little Star's. I think I'm good!"

Tang Moyu eyed her son for a moment before shaking her head. They'd been outside for too long as they waited for quite a while for Gu Yuyao to come out of the airport.

"No, you also need to change. We'll go back to the main house and find Auntie Lu to help you wash up before lunch." She paused as if she remembered something.

"Qin Jiran, this is my friend, Gu Yuyao. She will be staying with us for a few days until she finds a place of her own. She's also joining Tang Enterprise as our new CFO soon." She then turned to face Gu Yuyao.

"Yuyao, this is Qin Jiran. He's currently living with us. I'm not sure if you've heard his name before, but I heard from Meili that he's really popular."

The auburn haired woman gave Feng Tianyi a good look before her lips curled into a knowing smile. Feng Tianyi raised a brow at her but his eyes were watching her like a hawk.

"Qin Jiran, huh? Nice to meet you. I'm Gu Yuyao." Gu Yuyao gave him a mocking look.

Feng Tianyi's lips twitched in annoyance. What was this woman doing here? Tang Moyu surely knew a lot of weird and peculiar people.

"Moyu, why don't you go back with the twins to the main house first. I'm sure Mr. Qin wouldn't mind accompanying me here while we wait for your return." Gu Yuyao suggested, earning herself a scowl from the devil.
