Percy Jackson was mainly selected by Ian due to several obvious reasons. He wanted to create a vast audience for Percy Jackson among the mature preteens to younger teens. The culture was mainly based on Greek Mythology—which lacked its importance in Ian’s world.

He did his research regarding what the younger generations were attracted to and was disappointed that no such book, story, or plot was brought up for the enjoyment of the specific audience.

The story behind the first book amused Ian in a way. Although the initial author was a teacher for years, his students had asked him why he did not compose books. It then took him a few years, and a bedtime story to realize what the audience he knew best.

The reason to start writing was how his son would ask his father to tell him stories of the Greek gods at a young age. Once, Riordan—the author in Ian’s world of Percy Jackson, had exhausted the lore, his son requested for him to create new ones with the existing characters.

And then, after crafting a story that took three nights to tell, Riordan turned it into a series that would revive Greek mythology for a new generation. Later in 2005, he released The Lightning Thief, the first book of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.

The novel featured twelve-year-old Percy, who not only discovered that he is a demigod, but that his father is Poseidon. The book became a hit, winning multiple awards and paving the way for a spin-off series, movie adaptation, and musical.

What was more interesting was how in the early period of his creation of the book, Riordan based Percy on his son, Haley. Percy, similarly to Haley, was written as a young boy with ADHD and dyslexia.

Then, later on, Riordan had a few students read through his drafts, and many of them offered insight as to how to write kids with these conditions. It is not often to find characters who are dyslexic or have ADHD in many genres, and it created a space for kids and adults alike to feel seen.

Due to all of it, Ian was aware how In his career, Riordan has taught an entire generation more than Greek mythology, but how to be a better person and friend.

He has shown through his actions that “being a hero doesn’t mean you’re invincible. It just means that you’re brave enough to stand up and do what’s needed.”

Grover ran for the Camaro-but he wasn't running, exactly. He was trotting, shaking his shaggy hindquarters, and suddenly his story about a muscular disorder in his legs made sense to me. I understood how he could run so fast and still limp when he walked.

Because where his feet should be, there were no feet. There were cloven hooves.

Ian, then typed Chapter 4 and closed the laptop. ‘If possible, I’d bring what Riordan brought to my world, to here. I’m sure many would enjoy’ Ian thought and walked down the stairs to get some sleep he highly needed.

Ian and Mason walked down the corridor, and in his hand of Mason, there was the initial chapter of Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief.

As soon as Ian woke up and decided to get a head start by meeting Mason, he thought of showing the project he started to work on. Therefore, in the morning itself, he printed the first chapter, so that Mason could give his thoughts on the first draft.

They walked to the front and opened the meeting room, where the seats were empty. The voice echoed back due to how the air was empty, nevertheless, as soon as they got in, Mason talked about the literary work he had in his hand.

“Percy Jackson, I read the chapter in the morning, while you were busy with the meeting, and honestly I gotta say, you have a fine knack in books now, the character himself is interesting, and I think this would attract a lot of attention from teenagers,” Mason said and kept the printed papers on the table.

“Yeah, I have been thinking to write a lot after Resident Evil. So this was a good start, Percy Jackson’s character is very interesting too. Interesting enough for anyone to like the core of the character, who is good-natured, friendly, brave, and willing to risk his life to save his friends, strangers, and even his enemies, so basically it provides an open door for another persona which kids could look up to,” Ian said with a smile tugging in his lips.

Ever since he started writing, he was not able to stop his thoughts about what kind of a character he was. He remembered how much he enjoyed reading the book.

“Yes, although all traits are not visible yet, I can imagine him being that kind of a person. And honestly, when compared to your previous book, this is completely different from it. And it would attract more people and eyes on you,” Mason said.

“Yeah well, even with movies. I aim to touch every genre possible and bring up new ideas—original ones. There’s no anything different from that while writing, I’m hoping to make the novel a series with some more books, and if anything it would just keep getting better,”

After a while of the discussion, several people started to fill in. Ian and Mason were fifteen minutes earlier than the meeting was scheduled, but on time, many other people came.

Within a matter of five minutes, there were people in their respective seats, some were looking at the director and the CEO while the others were focused on their own thing. Around twenty people were in the meeting, and even Murphy was seated in the corner of the room with his computer ready to take any notes that Ian would say.

For the meeting, every head of each department was invited. Since it was a new chapter for the entire studio, Ian wanted to make sure that everyone was on the same page, and introduce and explain his ideas and plans for the next steps in Renner Studio—which was the main goal of the meeting.

“Good afternoon everyone, so I bet everyone already knows why we are here again. To discuss the future, yep,” Ian said while nodding to the answer of a person who was present on the board.

“So, before anything, let’s focus a bit on the past year. For the past two years to be honest, ever since I took over the studio, the first movie was Home Alone. And then, La La Land, also we distributed Green Book, and last but not least, Batman Begins. We also get the profits from Lucifer which is aired by LeoTV So, the profits we made from the movies are…”

“Home Alone… Covering 500 million dollars,

La La Land…. 650 million dollars

From Lucifer, successfully 10 million dollars

Green Book was released not long ago, but no profits were made due to the agreement we made with charity.

Also, Batman Begins… successfully, 350 million dollars worldwide,”

“So, statistically, the pure profits that are calculated per each movie would be, $485 million from Home Alone, $620 million from La La Land, no profits from Green Book, since every penny after covering the budget is gone for charity, and in total… it would be $984 million. So, after the taxes and everything else, it would be $864.8 million. And 90% of this would go back to movie investments.

With that being said, what I want to do with the money, is to invest in more movies and many more sides of the industry. As for the parts other than movies, I’m still considering them and would let everyone know quickly. But till then, we need to discuss more the position where we are right now.

What’s important to talk about in the meeting today is the plans for the future. So before this meeting, Mason, I, and Murphy had a whole discussion about this, and I asked Murphy to make a presentation, which he had done splendidly. So, here we go,”

In an instant, the projector started and the presentation was visible to everyone through the huge white light rays which came out of the box, which made the things on the computer screen visible and appear on the wall.

Ian, who adjusted the presentation, stood in front of it and started explaining his thoughts on the new year plans.

“We should have done this before at the start of the year, but we all are aware how busy I was with Batman shooting. Anyway, what we need to focus on currently is getting better from where we are. I know, the studio was doing great years ago before I’m here, but we just won two Oscars, and that too—a whole new genre.

The aspects and perspectives of the fans on us have taken a drastic turn in my opinion. I bet everyone else could admit it. Anyway, we need to focus on the upcoming sequels, collaborations, innovations, and the other projects that I’m planning to do this year, And for that…”
