“Seriously?!”
Tachibana, wearing a camisole for the first time, was drooping along the side of the wall.
I hurriedly took off my shoes and rushed to her.
I didn’t know where to look but it wasn’t the time for that.
“Tachibana! What’s wrong?!”
I tried calling out to her while supporting her body as to not startle her.
But there was no response.
When I put my hand on her forehead, t became obvious that she had a high fever.
Her neck was sweating and her pyjamas were damp.
But why was the door unlocked?
Maybe she was trying to go somewhere and unlocked the door but fainted.
That’s just my hypothesis but it’s no time to be worrying about that right now.
Her breathing was rough even though she was unconscious and her expression was tense.
I princess-carried Tachibana in my arms.
I slowly walked into a room and put Tachibana on a bed and avoided looking into the room as much as possible.
Even though her body was quite hot, I should probably put a cover on her.
“Tachibana, are you ok?”
(TL- He doesn’t use “san” for some reason)
“…Kusuba…san…?”
Tachibana then woke up.
She seemed to be somewhat ok.
“Yeah, it’s me. Sorry, I came in without permission.
While saying this, I turned on the light in the dimly lit room.
As Tachibana’s conscious returned, I had regained most of my composer.
“Did you get hurry anywhere? Are you feeling pain?”
“No…”
“I see, wait a minute”
I wet a towel and from the kitchen and squeezed it out.
Then I took a few cubes of ice from the refrigerator and wrapped them in the towel.
“It’s cold”
After that, I put the towel in on Tachibana’s forehead.
Tachibana frowned for a moment before relaxing. Her expression loosened as if the tension had suddenly left her.
“Are you alright now?”
“Ah…Thank you very much…”
Tachibana slowly opened her eyes a bit and looked up at me. Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes looked vacant.
Her fever was probably near 38 degrees now.
“I’m sorry…”
“Idiot, it’s ok. Just tell me beforehand if you’re not feeling well. I could’ve done something more to help.”
(TL- HE CALLED HER “baka”, BAKA, A BAKA, BAKABAKABAKABAKA, BBBBBBAAAAKKAAAA)
(TL- I think I’m gonna cry now…)
Tachibana remained silent.
Now what should I do?
I’m worried about going back to my house but on the other hand, there is nothing which I can do here.
“Do you have any cold medicine?”
“…no”
“Is there anything you want?”
“A drink…”
“I understand”
I opened the refrigerator and poured some tea into a cup.
When I handed her the cup, Tachibana raised her head a bit and drank the tea.
The way her throat was straining, her throat might be sore.
“How are feeling? Better?”
Tachibana nodded quietly.
Her hair was a mess and she was sweating again.
“I’m going to stay here for a while, is that ok?”
She was quiet for a while but then nodded slowly.
I guess she feels more comfortable that way.
It was already night so I should go back and sleep too.
“I’ll stay until you fall asleep.”
Tachibana nodded again.
Then she closed her eyes and breathed deeply.
I sat down on the side and sent a message to Susami.
If it were possible, Tachibana would be more comfortable with Susami.
“Tachibana collapsed. Probably high fever. I’ve been here for a while.”
The message was immediately marked as read.
“How’s Rika?”
“She conscious and probably fine now. If you’re free tomorrow, can you come to take care of her?”
“I’m planning to, but take care of her until noon, Kusuba-Kun”
“It’s fine by me, but isn’t it… morally problematic?”
(TL- Well, he is a guy…)
“As long as you don’t do anything which could get you in trouble, you’ll be fine”
“Will I?”
“You will. I think Rika will be pleased.”
After that, Susami didn’t even care about reading the messages.
You selfish person.
Now under these circumstances, I don’t have a choice.
I owe Tachibana a lot.
This much is nothing.
“Can you sleep?”
I called out to Tachibana who was lying down.
There was no reply for a while, but then Tachibana spoke in a small voice.
“…Excuse me, Kusuba-san…”
“That again? Alright. If you don’t mind.”
As I responded, I remembered something from a few months ago.
(TL- Only Kusuba speaking rn, no convo)
“Last year, I think it was around October. I had a fever too, but I couldn’t rely on anyone. It was a weekday and my parents were at work.”
But if I had contacted them, they might have left work and come.
But I’m not a kid anymore, doing that stuff.
“It was inconvenient to be alone after collapsing. I was feeling weak. It was hard for me to cook and the food was running out. So, it was pretty tough”
Tachibana was silent.
She was probably asleep now.
“So you should ask. You have a friend nearby. I don’t care how crappy he is; he is still better than nothing. I know how you feel so don’t worry about it.”
There was no reply.
Well, I’m glad you were able to sleep through my boring story.
Once I settled down, I started to feel sleepy.
It was the weekend but I still got up early for some reason, so I must have been tired.
And I was also doing something I wasn’t used to.
“Goodnight Tachibana”
After I said that to her, I closed my eyes.
I surrendered myself to the incoming wave to slumber.
Just before I fell asleep, I thought I heard a distant crying noise.

OK, end of Part 3. Now for those who didn’t really understand what happened and why is Kusuba sleeping with Tachibana. I’ll explain.
Kusuba was first planning to back home but then he messaged Susami telling her about what all had happened. Susami then told him to stay with her till “Noon”. And when Kusuba responded with :” Isn’t it morally problematic” shows she meant him to sleep with her.
It took me a while to figure out myself. For those all who got it the first time, gg
