But the more shocking thing was the rumor about the Beast King who led the invasion—how they ended up becoming the No Life King’s familiar.
Since there was no formal announcement from the holy country, the credibility of the rumor was still being questioned.
Nevertheless, it didn’t prevent the majority of the population from believing that the No Life King was gradually building his own undead army.

There would have to be a civil war to determine the next Beast King.
The people in the beastfolk kingdom would be too occupied to think about another invasion.

The one who was wailing in despair was the king of Tana, Leonhardt the Second.
Beside him, the one who heaved a sigh upon seeing his lord acting the exact opposite of the Hero King, was the prime minister, Bite.
「If he really wanted to destroy this kingdom, he’d already have done that when he came before. There’s no need to increase our military since destroying a small country led by a cowardly king is as simple as flipping his own hand.」
「I’m not a coward!」
The No Life King had appeared once before in the Tana kingdom.
He had left without doing anything, not even causing any damage.
「And the Holy Knights can’t seem to drive him out either… It was as if he just happened to stroll into this place.」
「How can a prime minister have such optimistic thinking! You should consider the worst situation!」
「Because there’s nothing we can do when that happens.」

Although many of her citizens trembled in fear upon seeing their empress, who was presumably brainwashed by the No Life King, none of them could defy her orders.
Before long, the horror spread all over the empire. They were afraid that they might be turned into undead too.
