Chapter 68

Count Hasha couldn’t answer at that moment and could only open his mouth, the terrace immediately became very noisy.

Nina spoke coldly.

“If you don’t believe that I’m the best sword, you can throw your glove, I’m ready for a duel any time.”

Saying that, Nina waved at a passing attendant and picked up a fork.

“This is just for entertainment, but Count, could you please raise your champagne glass?”

Then Count Hasha raised the glass with twinkling eyes.

“Like this?”

“Yes.”

Nina walked back a reasonable distance and threw the fork.

“!!”

“My God.”

Jean could just unknowingly let out a sigh.

Her fork penetrated the glass of champagne.

But the glass didn’t break.

Count Hasha opened his mouth wide and held the glass high.

“W-What’s this?”

If you pierce a glass, it’ll obviously break. That was common sense. But now, an unbelievable phenomenon was in front of him that exceeded common reasons.

Nina slipped the fork out and three thin strips of champagne poured out.

The fork circled in Nina’s hand.

“So what I’m trying is, if someone wants to prove those words wrong, then come and challenge me.”

Count Hasha smiled broadly at Nina’s words and turned the glass around.

“I’ll take this cup and keep it as a souvenir. Hahaha. By the way, that’s amazing. I’m going to show them this!”

Excited, the count forgot to utter his goodbye greetings to Adrian and ran to his acquaintances with his glasses up. In an instant, people flocked to see the glass.

Jean asked.

“How did you do that?”

“What?”

“Why didn’t the glass break?”

“It’s better to stab it faster and harder than the speed at which the glass breaks, right?”

Nina asked back as if she was saying that common sense could easily be comprehended. Jean’s eyes blazed.

“Does that even make sense? Didn’t you just use a secret method?”

Kell nodded his head with an extremely intelligent expression, and Charlotte looked triumphant with her flushed cheeks.

Adrian looked back at her and Nina bowed her head.

“Since you told me to do as I please.”

“Good job.”

When Adrian praised her, she slightly raised her head and stretched her shoulders proudly, “Right?”

She continued.

“It’s your long-awaited ball, so let’s dance. Can’t you see the girls over there waiting for a dance request from you with shining eyes?”

Adrian turned his head away at Nina’s whisper.

After confirming with their eyes that the Duke of Luverne was a handsome young man, the eyes of the girls of marriageable age and their parents twinkled.

Nina nodded deeply inside.

‘Yes, yes. Our Adrian is extremely handsome. And with a unique shadow behind the graceful and noble attitude, it’ll make anyone feel like they want to take away the pain residing in this person.’

It’s a face that strongly encourages the other person to be a ray of light in his life.

Adrian sneaked out of the way and said.

“I’m not here to do that today.”

“You’re right, let’s just observe the atmosphere for now.”

Nina relaxed and held her hands back, taking a resting position, and said to Jean.

“Can you take a look outside too?”

Jean replied, “Okay,” and took Kell away.

Charlotte quickly moved to the side. Taking the place where Jean was originally standing beside Nina and made a satisfied expression on her face.

Jean looked around and checked the vicinity’s security status. Even though bellacs attacks do not affect the nobles, the guards sometimes tend to be slack.

Knights in uniforms with lily crests were often seen standing on the main roads.

Kell called him in a low voice.

“Vice Commander.”

“I know.”

Kell’s face lit up a little at Jean’s answer. With a polite smile on his face, he said.

“What shall we do?”

“What do you think we should do? It’s not like we’re going to flip this entire hall upside down. All the weapons were taken in the entrance.”

“That’s true.”

There was a little interest in Kell’s voice.

“But are we really unarmed?”

It was a strange question, but Jean understood it.

Did we really leave all of our weapons?

To put it simply, this should be the right question. It wasn’t even an indirect expression of “I am not unarmed” because the subject indicated is “we”.”

“We’re pretty much unarmed.”

Jean’s words made Kell tilt his head and his light purple hair fluttered gently.

Jean, who has spiked hair, was envious.

“I understand.”

Jean nodded at Kell’s answer. At that time, his brow was a little drawn. Kell almost stopped by reflex.

“Let’s go back.”

“Yes.”

Jean went back at a slightly faster pace.

Meanwhile, Nina was being asked for a third duel. Jean approached while she, who was visibly annoyed, asked the three people to come at her at the same time.

“Commander.”

“You can all attack me at the same time.”

Nina cut the protestors and turned to Jean. Just by looking at his face, Nina grasped the situation.

It was the same with Adrian.

So the question was, “Here?”

Jean answered the question after rubbing his neck and politely raising his hands.

“Yes, I was going to just let it go since I thought it’s just a low grade.”

He frowned and said.

“There’s one more, and their movement is a bit systematic.”

“Systematic?”

“Well, if I have to say, it seems to be moving automatically, not instinctively······.”

Kell spoke in a soft, low voice.

“It’s picking a place with weak security. I feel like it’s looking for a good location to attack.”

“Then should we leave? What do you think?”

Nina asked Adrian. Adrian replied, “No.”

“I’ll stay a little longer.”

Nina answered without batting an eyelid.

“I’ll do whatever you want.”

Nina looked back at the party and said,

“Spread out.”

Kell and Charlotte moved apart by a reasonable distance. Jean was in between, and Nina was still standing next to Adrian.

“Why do you want to stay? I think it will be bothersome.”

When Nina asked very quietly, Adrian replied.

“I want to know who they’re trying to attack.”

Nina said, “Ah,” and closed her mouth.

‘Does he know who?’

Suddenly, that thought made Nina nervous. It could also be that they’re trying to kill her just to break the barrier.

‘Furthermore, innocent people might also get involved. No, it hasn’t been decided that I’m the target yet.’

Nina took a long breath then extensively spread her senses. There were so many people around that it was a bit hard to grasp everything, but she could figure out the bellac’s level if they approached her closely.

‘One, two······. Oh, three, four, five······. How many are there?’

Nina held back as she wanted to whack the unknowing Jean around.

‘You said two?’

SHRIEEEK!!

Several bellacs popped out of the ground with a sharp sound.

It was only the size of the forearm, and its appearance looked like a rat. If you put the tail together, it was an attack by a rat that was as big as one arm.

“Kyaaaa!”

“Ra-rats!”

“No, it’s bellacs!”

“Ahhh!”

While screaming people were fleeing all over the place, some remained motionless, and Nina and her party were among them.

“Oh, what now?”

Nina blinked her eyes.

The bellacs jumped straight up to the security guards and the knights. As if they knew who they were. The guards screamed and tried to pull the mice away, but it didn’t work.

Other guards were at their wits end, of course, they didn’t know what to do. If you attacked with a sword or spear, they would have stabbed the other person.

Eventually, a soldier that was having a blood match with one of the rats began to roll over the ground, covering his face.

A series of short flute sounds were heard to signal an emergency.

Nina felt a strange sensation.

‘What’s this?’
