83 Didn’t Want to be Related With The Problem Child

I could see beautiful sakura trees in full bloom from my room that was located in the 3rd floor of the senior high school’s boy dormitory. Alas, it was unfortunate that there was a rule prohibiting girls from entering the boy’s dorm. If it wasn’t for that rule, then I would definitely invite Muriel to enjoy the view.

Still, the central plaza was also a perfect place for flower viewing, so perhaps I could invite the girls next time.

“By the way, how’s the preparation for the flower viewing, Richard?” I asked Richard as he prepared the tea after we were done unpacking our luggages.

Placing the cup of tea that I had requested, he smiled with that unwavering and unchanging smile of his and said, “Since it’s an annual event before the entrance ceremony, I have planned to inquire about that matter just now. I’m just about to get in touch with the other attendants about the schedule, but how about the day after tomorrow?”

As expected of Richard. He was honestly too good to be my attendant. Moreover, he had also grown into a handsome, tall, and slender man. He was simply a heartthrob! Though I feel a bit vexed about the fact that he was slightly taller than me.

Then again, I was still in my growth period, it wasn’t a pipe dream for me to go taller since I was still sixteen years old. Especially since I was just two centimeters away from my ideal 180 centimeters tall!

Still, this situation was much better than my previous life where my height was just one centimeter away from 170 centimeters before I died. And I would feel infinitely better if my peers were the same as me. Alas, I didn’t feel my height were growing since the other guys were already 180 centimeters tall. Furthermore, that Vince’s height was even more ridiculous where he had reached more than 190 centimeters tall.

Dammit, I’m so jealous of that guy.

Ehem, anyhow, I’m indebted to Richard. Without him, I might not be able to do anything.

“As expected of Richard, you’ve prepared everything. Please take care of this matter. However, we still have to lay out the shee—”

“You can’t. Everyone will definitely reject your idea. We will prepare the tables and chairs so that all of you can dine on the table.”

Tch, those people really had no idea on how to enjoy flower viewing…. Even though they sounded really interested when I told them about this matter, especially Muriel and Katrina, yet the moment their maids and attendants banded together to oppose us, they folded. Thus, leaving us with no other choice but to give up on the idea.

Then again, I was not really opposed to their idea either, so I compromised with the use of table and chair. Still, it would feel much better if we use the sheet.

“How about Muriel and my seat…?”

“That’s also impossible.”

Dammit. Rejected on the spot again.

“I know— so, has everyone entered the dorm already?”

“Yes, they’re already in the dorm since they seems to be looking forward to flower viewing. In fact, we’re the last one to arrive, Theodore-sama. Then again, I am not that sure. Still, I get this feeling that we’re the last one to arrive when I visited Sadias and the others for a greeting— which reminds me… somehow it felt like I have become your personal secretary now,” Richard said with a wry smile, causing me to look sheepish.

“Well, I’m the one who suggested the flower viewing after all. That’s why they ended up regarding you, my attendant, as somesort of secretay… sorry for causing such trouble for you, Richard.”

“Please stop acting rashly if you’re really reflecting. But, well, our side is actually also looking forward to this flower viewing too. That’s why we do our best to complete our preparation on time.”

They were not only preparing for our part, but theirs too. The location for them to enjoy their meal and flower viewing was a place that was slightly separated from ours. When I suggested them to enjoy it together with us, the attendants banded together and rejected my idea. Fortunately, with Muriel’s help and Katrina’s vehement support, the other side ended up compromising and decided to eat a little bit away from our location. Just one meters away from ours in fact.

The essence of flower viewing was to enjoy a meal with everyone while enjoying the spectacle after all. Having one side acting as our waiter or waitress would dampen the mood.

“But, even if we’re doing it inside the academy, I can’t help but feel nervous…. Should we call Kevin and the other bodyguards, just in case?”

“Aren’t we going to bother them if we call them just for that? It should be alright. I mean, everyone is strong, especially Vincent. That guy seems to be in a particularly high spirit.”

Yes, you heard me right, that Kevin was also staying in the dormitory for the escort that was placed right beside my room. Even though Richard was the only one who’s supposed to be able to act by my side during my time in the school, obviously he couldn’t be the only attendant I brought in.

That was right, I didn’t speak wrongly when I said, ‘by my side’ part. Although, there could only be one attendant who’s allowed to constantly stay by their master’s side, many people brought more than one to serve various functions, so the dorm was created with those functions in mind.

Then again, Kevin completely disagreed with this arrangement since he said, ‘Waiting in the room isn’t my style.’

Still, I hoped he could put more trust in us, since Richard did his best to do his partof the job. Besides, there was barely any fighting within the academy, so it was fine to have only Richard acting by my side in the academy. Anyway, Kevin would also be stuck by my side after we returned to our territory, so it should be fine.

Well, then again, Kevin might feel lonely during our absence… but he should already be used to that feeling.

I meant, he was currently assigned to train my little brother, Chester, and his son, Bernie. Chester had turned eight years old this year, and Bernie had turned seven years old. Furthermore, they both got along really well since they had been together since their childhood. So, based on his action, it seemed that Kevin was planning to make Bernie Chester’s escort.

“You’re right. I guess I’m just overly worried about this matter. There have never been any trouble in the years before, so there should be no problem in this year too.”

“Exactly, I’m glad that your attitude has started to become a bit more optimistic than in the past.”

“I’ve to be like this since you’re an overly optimistic person, Theodore-sama.”

Hearing that, I tilted my head, unable to understand what he meant by saying I was ‘overly optimistic person’. Alas, Richard just shook his head and smiled wryly at me.

“Oh, right, should we invite Frederick too this year? I’ve never gotten the chance to invite him before since he’s in different division, but just like when we’re in secondary division, it might be possible now that we’re in the same division again with us being freshman and him being senior.”

Richard’s face paled when I suggested that. What was wrong?

“― M-my deepest apologies. I-I forgot to contact Frederick-sama about this.”

“Ah, don’t worry. Since that’s the case, I’ll just tell him myself.”

“Theodore-sama?”

“Wait, could it be that you haven’t prepared his portion of the food too? That’s not good. Please prepare that matter as soon as possible. While you’re preparing those additional dishes, I’ll go to invite Frederick. Besides, me personally going to meet Frederick will have better effect than if you go to him right now.”

“B-but, leaving your side is—”

“It should be alright if it’s just for a while. It’ll be more efficient than having you following me. Besides, once you’re done with the dishes re-arrangement, you can come to me again.”

Despite my assurance, Richard still hesitated to leave my side for a while. However, after careful consideration, he finally agreed with me since my point was right.

“I’ll immediately make the arrangement then— the 3rd year’s dorm building location is right in front of the entrance of this building, which was interposed with the courtyard in front of this building. The receptionist there will help you call Frederick-sama after you reported your business over there.”

“Understood. Well then, best regard.”

“Yes, leave it to me. I’ll be back immediately.”

After parting way with Richard, I went and crossed the courtyard, heading toward the 3rd year’s dorm building. On the way, I witnessed… a rather peculiar incident.

There was a female student hopping around, looking at the sakura tree. When I wondered what she was doing in such place, I saw something like a document stuck on top of the tree. From the look of it, it seemed she wanted to take that document.

I somehow ended up wondering whether I should help her or not, but my feet still stopped on its track when I saw the girl clearly. I meant, that girl’s hair was PINK.

And I had nothing but unpleasant memory with PINK haired girls. Even now, I still couldn’t bring myself to forgive that PINK haired brat who pushed my Muriel and injured Kevin back then.

So, even though it was literally impossible for that girl to be that ‘Rabid Dog’ from back then, I still didn’t want to get myself involved with her.

Not to mention that she was as suspicious as hell. I had no idea on why I thought she was ‘suspicious’, but I just felt that way, so I decided to ignore that girl and walked straight toward the 3rd year’s dorm. It was not until I entered the 3rd year’s dorm that I finally realized what caused me to think her as suspicious person.

‘This should be the premise of the boy’s dorm.’

That was right. This was the boy’s dorm. It should be quite separated from the girl’s dorm. The girl’s dorm should have been located in the opposite side of the boy’s dorm. It should be separated by the central courtyard with the boy’s dorm located in the east side, while the school building located in the south side.

And in the central courtyard, there should be a huge gate that separated the areas as well as security officers stationed there to prevent people from sneaking to area they were not allowed to go to. Yet, that girl had somehow bypassed them and entered the premise of the boy’s dorm….

For some reason, those realization sent a chill running down my spine. Back then, didn’t that ‘Rabid Dog’ also used a forgotten secret tunnel that royalty used? Did this mean that this place also had something similar to that? A secret tunnel known by no one?

Thinking this possibility, for some reason, I became uneasy.

So, I immediately reported the matter about that PINK haired female student wandering in the premise of the boy’s dorm to the receptionist of the 3rd year’s dorm while asking them to call Frederick as well. I also didn’t forget to report about the document she was carrying with her as well as add my speculation about the possibility of an unknown secret passage.

Anyway, after reporting to the receptionist, the security stationed at the receptionist desk was going to deal with her. Thus, I left the matter about that girl to them and simply waited for Frederick in the lobby.

“Yo~, long time no see, Theodore…. Is there something wrong? You look rather pale there,” A tall youth with a gentle air— Frederick— greeted me as he descended the staircase. Then, noticing my pallid palor, he immediately asked why did I look so bad.

Oh crap, I end up showing my worries on my face. Not good, let’s calm down a little bit.

“Long time no see, Frederick. About this, uhm, I saw something suspicious on the way here is all. It should be okay since it has nothing to do with me though.”

“Humph. Whatever. Come to my room and tell me what actually happened there,” Frederick guessed my intention and invited me to his room.

On the way there, I saw a turmoil in the courtyard from the 3rd floor and cringed. That girl was rampaging as several guards subdued her. It seemed that girl was very unwilling to return to the girl’s dorm obediently.

“― Yeah, that’s suspicious indeed.” Frederick’s expression also stiffened. It seemed he also remembered that incident from when we were still young.

“Right?”

“I’ll report this matter to the board chairman, the head of the garden, and His Majesty as well. Naturally, as the president of the student council, I also can’t overlook her behaviour. Things will become really dangerous if there’s a secret path like back then.”

“Okay, I’ll report to my father too.”

""

After that, I invited Frederick to participate in the flower viewing as we relaxed in his room. As the student council president, Frederick seemed to be really busy, but he still give his promise to participate in the flower viewing. As expected, he also wanted to meet up with everyone and chatted with them.

It seemed there was a scholarship student entering this academy in our year too. I heard that person also had six attributes like Katrina and high level magic, but the temple also said that the scholarship student had a difficult personality. That person, who enrolled at the same time as us, explicitly said that they wished to see who amongst us had multiple attributes too.

Therefore, the temple asked us to watch over that person since they might feel nervous if an upperclassman was appointed to them, but it shouldn’t be a problem if it was us who guide them since we enrolled at the same time.

“Seriously? Is that person really that troublesome to the point that we have to ‘watch over’ them?”

“According to the report from Baron Plum, she show no problematic behaviour in her elementary division and secondary division. However, since the temple specially mentioned this matter, the teacher’s side must have felt there’s more to this matter. Furthermore, since this matter is also reported to the student council, it must be really important as well.”

“Okay, I’ll tell everyone about this matter.”

“Yeah, I know for sure that they’ll hate that person, but since they’re not the kind of people who will involve their emotion in this matter, they’re the best choices.”

“Yeah, I can vouch for that.”

I understood that everyone had their own responsibility for their respective houses, so they were not stupid enough to prioritize their personal feeling when they were dealing with matters. I meant, they still interacted with me properly even when they disliked me, so that was proof enough.

“… I was actually mulling over this matter, but after seeing THAT first hand, I’ve decided to tell THAT properly.”

“Are you referring to THAT?!”

“Perhaps… Perhaps the reason why THAT lack common sense might be because THAT never goes to the academy in the royal capital.”

Frederick nodded with a strangely convinced expression, not that I could blame him. Surely, THAT one might never see the academy in the royal capital, right?

“Seriously… that ain’t at the level of lacking common sense anymore….”

“Sorry, but please do your best.”

“No~! Spare me from this please~!”

Frederick looked perplexed seeing my reaction, but then he shook his head and smiled wryly at me. Fine, be amused. However, could you please stop looking like you’re enjoying this?!
