"Oh, to make you guys believe me he's not completely heartless," Yang Nina is still his granddaughter, and as a filial granddaughter, she opt to earn a brownie point in his behalf.

"Grandpa is taking care of a woman who was said to have been kidnapped and tortured by a notorious mafia organization."

Three ears perked at mention of the Underworld.

"The poor woman was malnourished with evident signs of extreme abuse. She was mentally unstable and can't determine who the people around her were, as per mentioned by her caretakers. Her tongue was also cut off, maybe to keep her silent."

It's not really a secret since the woman's caretakers didn't warned her to keep quiet about it, so Yang Nina thought it's fine to disclose it to her new friends.

Han Taiyi and Chu Lizheng winced and blanched at the description.

"How could they do such a thing." Death said in all seriousness as he chewed on a cookie like he's eating a popcorn while watching a horror movie.

Lillie pinched his thigh, making him choke on the cookie.

"Grandpa did a great job in treating her. Her caretakers said she's like a crazy zombie before. Now, she can understand everyone and can think for herself."

"That's a relief. It would've taken many years, or even never, for a victim like her to recover." Lillie pinched her chin. "But if we're talking about Grandmaster Yang, who's labelled as a miracle doctor, then the probability of her recovering is 100%."

"Sister Shengming is right!" Finally, she manage to make them see her grandfather in different lighting. "I also heard grandpa already fixed her tongue by transplant. She'll be able to talk again soon."

"Hah, so he went for a logical solution this time?"

"What does Sister Taiyi mean by this?"

Finding her appetite again, Han Taiyi continue eating her osmanthus jelly. "Knowing Grandmaster Yang, he would probably invent a medicine that regenerates her tongue or something." She said, her voice slightly muffled by the dessert.

"I wouldn't be surprised anymore if Grandmaster Yang did manage to create such bizarre solution." Chu Lizheng sighed. "He's quite well known for...stirring away from normalcy."

Everyone besides Yang Nina nodded in agreement with Chu Lizheng's statement. She looked at her seniors with a baffled expression.

Seems she has yet to know much about her grandfather.

Yang Nina stared at the ceiling in a pondering look. She tapped her index finger on her lips and hummed, "What was her name again? I heard one of her caretakers call her before. I think it's Yi...Yi Lei?"

Closing her eyes, she racked deeper into her memories. The others patiently waited and kept quiet for her to concentrate.

A moment later, she snapped her fingers and exclaimed, "Yu Mei!"

Three minds thought one thing.

Ah, he brought her here.

"Yu Mei, you say? Ah Zheng, have we heard of this name before? 'Cause it sounds really familiar."

"I believe she's that girl who went missing years ago. We're still Earth students that time, and her name appeared on the confidential mission board. It was an S-class too."

"Oh, right! I remember now!" Han Taiyi nodded, striking her fist on her palm. "The girl who Lillie Bai was accused of kidnapping and murdering."

"She was on the confidential mission board? Just who was this woman?"

Yang Nina have read of the confidential missions in the Academy's handbook. It means that kind of mission must not be disclosed to anyone but the people of Soaring Dragon Academy.

Nobody's certain of the punishment if one violates this rule. But everyone seem to be smart or frightened enough to not poke their nose into it.

"The mission stated to look out for Lillie Bai, labelling her prime suspect as Yu Mei was said to had been her assistant or something." Han Taiyi sipped her tea to soothe her throat.

"This case was not released in public due to the Yu family's fear of being wrong, thus falsely accusing a distinguished family like the Bai." Chu Lizheng added to Han Taiyi's narrative. "They would not only receive retribution from the Bai family, but everyone in the society as well."

"Didn't the Yu family at least ask the police to commence a private investigation with the Bai? They have the rights to be suspicious, given the information, and they're not outright blaming them for Miss Yu's disappearance, right?"

What if the Yu family were right about the Bai family? It's unfair how the powerful can cover up their stench and even receive the society's pity and favor.

"I'm afraid Little Nina is incorrect on the last part. The Yu family blamed the Bai family for Yu Mei's disappearance." Han Taiyi cleared, remembering the contents of the mission.

"They're adamant that it's only the Bai family, Lillie Bai, specifically, who they suspect to be the perpetrators."

"You mean they accuse the Bai family because they have no else to accuse, and that they're just after their money." Death prompted, sneering in disgust.

"That being said, Grand Disciples Life and Death should know the whole truth, since you two were the ones who found the most information." Chu Lizheng reminded.

"Miss Yu Mei was indeed kidnapped by a criminal organization." Lillie gently put down her teacup on the table.

"But then we found out the organization who kidnapped her were all annihilated for impersonating one of the Five Underworld Leaders. We were unable to find and retrieve her, unfortunately." Lillie casted a regretful look, feigning to blame her incompetence.

"And when we laid out the evidences that the Bai family were innocent, those Yu family dared accuse 'us' that we were conspiring to cover them up." Death sneered indignantly, as if he was really offended. "The audacity! As if we of Soaring Dragon would be allured by money!"

"But Miss Yu is here now!" Yang Nina determinedly said. "Once she completely recovers and talks again, she can tell everyone the truth. Then, she can reunite with her family, and they won't blame the Bai family anymore."

Lillie smiled softly. "Little Nina is correct. After all, truth will prevail sooner or later."
