Former comrade be d*mned, he'll definitely maim him for touching and staring lecherously at his wife!

Shortly, for sure, Ethan will beat him up real good before introducing himself 'properly', then beat him up again, but in that time, as his former boss.

Gong Hei wasn't sure why, but this simple looking man in front of him was leaking a deadly dark aura that made him flinch a little.

A little. He refuse to admit out loud that he was affected by sheer ambience from this nobody even if you have to beat him to death!

And who the f*ck does this b*stard think he is? Shengming's husband, he said? Hah! As if that'll stop him, Grand Disciple Gong Hei, from wooing the woman he likes!

"Mind your language, sir," He addressed mockingly and sneered. "Shengming is a highly regarded figure, a Grand Disciple like myself. I'm afraid her reputation may be implicated due to your...indelicacy."

"Oh? Then I presume your reputation isn't looking good either; hitting on a married woman in front of her husband." Ethan countered with a blank face. "I wonder which among the two is most indelicate?"

Gong Hei can feel his blood boiling and veins protruding on his forehead.

He's puzzled of himself. Why is he getting affected by this average Joe's slur? Not even that wild rodent, Death, could rile him up like this.

"Hmp! Clearly, this humble one's unworthy of Shengming's hand. To prevent making her lose face, I suggest you leave her to someone of worth; suitable to stand beside her and of equal status."

"And I presume this 'worthy' someone is yourself?"

"Precisely."

"You have guts." Ethan's eyes darkened. He may be wearing contacts, but the viciousness in them couldn't be contained.

Two pairs of eyes glared so intensely that you could almost feel and see two lines of electricity coming out from them and striking each other in the middle.

"Uhm, Ah Ming, aren't going to stop them?" Han Taiyi asked, worried for her new friend's fate in the hands of someone like Grand Disciple Gong.

Although she's aware that Jihuo's martial art was exceptionally good when they fought with those assailants-slash-teachers in the forest, it still wouldn't be enough of a reassurance that he'll be able to beat Grand Disciple Gong.

Grand Disciple Gong may not be compared with Grand Disciples Life and Death in terms of skills and strength, but she'd seen him in action.

He was annoyingly slithery and dangerous, according to her comprehension in observing him fight, and by interviewing his opponents.

"Hm, they're a.d.u.l.ts already. Let them resolve their problem by themselves." Lillie let Ethan do as he please; teaching his old comrade a valuable lesson about hitting on a married woman.

Especially his boss' wife.

"Hehe, let the boss pick a bone with his undisciplined subordinate." Needless to say, Death knew who Gong Hei was and his former standing at Vermillion Dragon.

As if he, the God of Death, wouldn't figure out something so obvious—obvious to him, that is.

"Subordinate?" Han Taiyi, Chu Lizheng, and Yang Nina parroted, blinking in confusion at what the white-haired man just said.

"Subordinate." Death nodded firmly. "My Junior Sister is the big boss. As the big boss' husband, Jihuo is also a boss. That toothpick couldn't hold a candle with my Junior Sister, that makes her his superior. In conclusion, that'll also make Jihuo his superior."

What...what kind of logic is that?

"If Sis Shengming is the big boss, who are you then?" Yang Nina innocently asked.

Death's shoulders shook as he chuckled lowly. He crossed his arms, raised his nose in the air and smugly said, "Who else? I'm clearly the god!"

"God of laziness." Han Taiyi snidely interjected.

"The god of drunkards." Chu Lizheng suggested.

"Gluttony is much appropriate." Lillie joined in.

Death wailed, "How could you guys slander me so!"

"Shut up and shove your god-complex up your a*s." Ethan suddenly appeared behind Death before walking towards his wife.

"I resent that!" Why does everyone seem to enjoy attacking him today? Is there a sign stuck on his back saying "fight me"?

"Done with your quarrel?" Lillie lifted her head to meet Ethan's thunderous eyes, which softened tremendously at the sight of her.

"While you guys were busy bullying your Senior Brother, we've decided to have a match." Ethan tenderly held her hand and brought it to his lips.

"Tell me you didn't made or agreed to any foolish bets that may end you up sleeping in the doghouse." Lillie said, half-serious-half-joking.

"You think low of me. Betting my wife as if she were an item? It never crossed my mind." He shot her a mildly offended look.

"Hm, good." She presented him a sweet smile as an apology and a reward for his good answer.

"Ehem, could you please stop being so lovey-dovey for a moment? We still have a score to settle." Gong Hei grumbled in annoyance as he piped in from behind.

The two lovers composed themselves and faced the man, who was impatiently tapping his finger on his biceps and glaring at Ethan.

"Where shall we proceed with this match?" Ethan wasn't fazed by his venomous glare.

Why would he?

"Since I'm not the type of person who would flaunt my skills in public—"

Death coughed.

"Then I suggest we carry out our match at Grandmaster Yang's compound, the Ebony Vulture Courtyard."

"Very well." Ethan agreed after Lillie lightly squeezed his hand in approval.
