Standing next to an old building, Shido placed his back against its wall placing all of his weight on it; He drowned in his own thoughts, completely disconnecting from reality.
'I should notify the authorities about the presence of that base and supernatural power inside.'

Dreaming about his revenge, Shido's mood visibly improved as a small wicked smile silently emerged on his face.
But unbeknown to him, he may not have that chance, after all, great danger was drawing silently ever so near.
Shrouding his body, the scarlet energy suddenly started burning quickly, a great amount of it getting consumed in a matter of seconds; As a consequence, improbable scenarios started playing out in reality.

Just above him, a huge stone started sliding out from its position on the wall, it appears that this part of the building was damaged by an explosion that had recently occurred; assumably after the apocalypse began.
That along with the building's old age and many other reasons caused it to miraculously give in the moment Shido stood under it.
But luckily for him, this danger at least came with a warning, as the moment it started sliding out and was about to fall, small gravel-sized pieces of concrete fell down, hitting him right on his head.
"Ouchh!!"
This sudden burst of pain forced Shido to stop daydreaming as he then instinctively looked up.
"This! FUCK!!"
With his pupils shrinking in shock and face filling with fright, Shido quickly jumped to the side trying to escape the danger which he somewhat succeeded at, as just a moment later, that stone landed squarely where he previously stood at.
*BOOM*
A Cloud of smoke instantly filled the air causing the visibility to plummet!
But things didn't end there, as with the fall of this stone, the building lost a lot of its structural integrity which caused a chain reaction to occur.
*SWICHH*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
Stone after stone fell, completely covering the street and burying the humvee containing the two students inside.
Looking at this, Shido was terrified, he started shaking as his legs soon gave in causing him to fall to the ground.
"I-I..."
Taking a deep breath, he tried calming down, he had just escaped death, if it weren't for him not stopping after just jumping to the side and deciding to run further away; he would have died miserably.
"WHAT IS HAPPENING???"
"IS IT YOU?? SILVER-HAIRED BASTARD??!"
By now, he had already figured out that something isn't right, it felt like death was following his footsteps, playing a vicious and nasty game with him.
"IS THIS FUN TO YOU?!"
Screaming without care, Shido wanted to get answers; He had lost it by now; He doesn't even care about the zombies who were approaching because of the noise; He is now pushed into a corner, unable to do anything.
Exhausted, with no way of transport, no food, surrounded by zombies, and death following his footsteps; As miserable as anyone could be.
*ROARRR*

Alerted by the sound of zombies, Shido finally regained some of his calm as he tried to stand up again.
"Ahh!!!"
Feeling a sudden burst of pain from his ankle, he fell down again to the floor, cold sweat appearing on his temples.
'It's sprained...'
*Crack*
But then suddenly, just as he was about to force himself to stand up as he wanted to make a run for it; the nearby street light pole suddenly swayed without a warning, instantly falling in his direction; This time, it didn't give him any time to react.
*Swish*
*Pufff*
*Crack*
Landing right on his legs, the sound of bones crunching sounded.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Screaming in pain, Shido looked down at his legs, his face full of despair; Now, his last hope is gone, and all he could do now is just sit there and wait for death.
Watching the zombies draw near him, he grabbed at the ground trying to pull himself out from under the pole, but to no avail, all that did is just get his fingers bloody.
"NOO!!!"
"NOOO!!!"
"LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"
"AHHHH!!"

Meanwhile,
At the base, Lorien was still chatting with Saeko, he had no idea about what happened to Shido, and even if he knew, he would probably just praise him for being able to survive for nearly 24 hours.
"Follow me!"
"Alright."
Making his way towards the villa with Saeko following him, Lorien could feel a headache approaching.
'This is going to be a bit of a pain in the ass...'
*Step* *Step* *Step*
Quickly reaching their destination, Lorien opened the front door and said.
"Come in, don't be shy."
"Sorry for intruding."
The moment they entered the house, Saigai who was still sitting on the couch turned her head toward them.
Seeing Saeko who was standing behind Lorien, her mouth twitched lightly as she glared at him and then turned her attention to Saeko.
"Hello! My name is Saigai, you are?"
"I am Saeko, I just joined the combat force."
"Combat force?"
Seeing her confusion, Lorien suddenly intervened to explain the situation.
"It's a police-like department I just made, I'm also going to make a department that'll take care of managing the base."
"Great! We won't need to do anything!"
"Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking."
Realizing this, Saigai looked at Saeko.
"So she must be very talented."
"Yes, I am going to train her."
"Train? you mean in Dream?"
"I am planning on that."
"Take me!!"
"Huh?"
"Did you forget? We just gained control of our Source Energy, we need some practice."
"Totally forgot about that..."
"So..."
"Yeh, sure, you can come."
Meanwhile, Saeko looked at all of this in confusion, she knew all of the words they said but when strung together, they made no sense.
'Dream? Energy? What are they talking about?'
Thankfully, Lorien started explaining it to her.
"I am going to train you in swordsmanship, I'll use my ability to create a place where we're going to train, there, the time isn't synchronized to reality, even if we practice for years, it'll only be a moment outside."
"W-WHAT??!"
Speechless, Saeko didn't know how to respond to this, all that happened since yesterday was incomprehensible to her, and now, such an absurd thing occurred again.
"Okay, just sit there, we are about to start."
