Bastion started his move first. “I summon Carbeneddon in defense mode! And with that I end my turn!”

“He really didn’t have a trap card of any kind?” I said with a confused tone. Blair nodded silently while staring at the Duel. “A brand new deck and that’s all you can get out on the field!? Hey! Whatever works for ya!!” Jayden yelled as he drew his first card. He smiled as he looked at the card in his hand. “First, I activate the continuous spell, Heart of the Underdog!! Next I summon Elemental Hero Burstinatrix!!”

“Now Burstinatrix! Attack!!” And with that, I saw the flame hero as she ran over to the metal dinosaur, and destroyed it with a massive explosion. “Next I throw down a face down!!” I nodded while wondering how the Duel may change from the show. “You don’t waste any time… I like that! I Draw!!” Bastion looked at his new card and smiled. I could tell he pulled the trap card he was looking for. “I summon Oxygeddon in attack mode!!” I looked to see the dinosaur that appeared to me made out of a whirlwind float onto the field.

“Now! Oxygeddon!! Attack Burstinatrix!!” Bastion yelled out his attack, and the monster made of air, shot out a whirlwind towards Burstinatrix at high speed, ready for the kill. “Not so fast!! I activate my trap card! Hero Barrier!! Whenever I have an Elemental Hero on my side of the field, I can negate your monster's attack once!! Sorry Bastion! But Burstinatrix isn’t busted just yet!!” Jayden yelled with a smile as a blue barrier stopped the attack.
Bastion smiled back. “Of course! I would expect no less from you! I place a card face down and end my turn!!” Bastion smiled more at his plan coming together, as Jayden drew his next card. “I Draw!!” He looked at his card and nodded. “Now I activate the continuous spell, Heart of the Underdog!! This allows me to whenever I draw a normal monster, I get to reveal it, and draw again!! So I’m gonna reveal my Elemental Hero Sparkman! To draw one more time!!” He drew another card and his smile grew, as I saw his little winged buddy float around him.
I gained a smile seeing the little fluff ball as well. Those creatures would always be some of my favorites. I heard a playful chirp from my deck, and saw my own pal float around me as well. I scoffed, and continued to watch the match. “Next! I’m going to play Elemental Hero Sparkman in attack mode!!”

“And I’m gonna equip him with… Spark Blaster!! Now Sparkman can change the battle mode of any monster on the field! And the one I have set in his sights! Is your Oxygeddon!!” And with that, Sparkman fired his blaster at the wind monster, and stunned the creature into a defensive position. “Now! Burstinatrix!! Attack!!” Burstinatrix attacked Oxygeddon with a flaming fist, but he didn’t disappear immediately.
“Whoops…! Looks like someone has forgotten their chemistry, no!? You see Jayden! When Oxygeddon is attacked by a flame attribute monster… It doesn’t just take a toll on my life points… It takes a toll on yours as well!!” And with that the arena was covered in a flame that reached to the stands. I squinted my eyes from the bright effects, and the heat that radiated off of the stage, and Blair covered her face from any burns she might get. I scoffed at her, and she frowned while blushing from embarrassment. We both focused back down on the Duel as the life points of Jayden and Bastion lowered.

“Sweet moves! But I’d do it all over again! Because now your field is empty!! Meaning that my Sparkman can attack you directly!!” Jayden smiled as he pointed towards Bastion for his cyborg hero to attack. He let out a shock with his blaster, and Bastion’s life points fell a considerable amount as he staggered.

I nodded with a smile at how well he was doing, but wondered how well he could continue to do with his ace cards off the table. “Jayden seems to be doing really well.” Blair said while her eyes were firmly glued to the field. I smiled a bit seeing her much better than the night before.
“I Draw!” I saw Bastion start making his move. He smiled a bit as he then placed down his trap card. “I place a card face down, and then I summon Hydrogeddon in attack mode!” A burst of water took the field as a dinosaur was made from the torrent.

“Now Hydrogeddon! Attack Burstinatrix!” He issued his attack, and a stream of water went and destroyed Jayden’s card. He groaned a bit at his fallen life points as well.

“Now I activate Hydrogeddon’s ability! Whenever he destroys a monster on the field, I can summon another Hydrogeddon to the field! And I happen to have one right here in my deck!” Bastion summoned another Hydrogeddon to the field, and I was already privy to his strategy. However… “Tsk… Too bad Jayden’s got this one easy.” I said as I shook my head with a slight frown.
Blair looked over to me with surprise. “What do you mean by that? He might have more life points, but he only has one monster right now.” I smirked at her, and shrugged. “Guess you’ll just have to wait and see.” I said while glancing at Jayden’s Winged Kuriboh. Blair pouted a bit at me, but I looked away to avoid her gaze. ‘Not gonna happen. That might work for Unhappy Maiden, but I’m not gonna let you do it.’
We watched as Bastion continued his turn. “Next I’ll play an equip spell! Living Fossil! This allows me to bring one dinosaur type monster from my graveyard, and summon him to the field! As long as I equip him with this! Oxygeddon! Rise again old friend!”

“Of course the equip spell lowers his attack, and cancels his special ability, but I don't need either of those!” Bastion then showed his spell card from his hand with a large grin on his face. “Now it gets good… I activate the spell card, bonding H2O!! This allows me to fuse two Hydrogeddon and one Oxygeddon to form the all powerful… Water Dragon!!” I watched as all of Bastion’s monsters on the field began to merge, and grow massive in size.

With him summoning that, it was the end of Bastion’s turn. Everyone looked to Jayden, to see how he might get out of this situation. He had on his giant smile, and giggled a bit from the odds against him. I smiled at it too, I was beginning to have much more fun with dueling than I ever had before. “Well! Let’s see what I can do!” Jayden yelled as he drew a card. “Sweet!” He then glanced up at Bastion. “I may not know as much chemistry as you do… But I can still mix it up!”
I scoffed at his line, and Blair did the same as we watched. “I play the spell card polymerization to fuse Avion, Bubbleman, and Sparkman to create the one and only… Elemental Hero Tempest!!” Jayden was pumped, and saw himself winning the duel right now, but Bastion had other plans. “Not so fast!!” He yelled as the monster’s on Jayden’s field stopped forming. “I play my trap card! Seal of the forbidden spell!! This allows me to discard one spell card, to negate your spell and destroy it!”
Jayden was shocked from the sudden reveal, and watched helplessly as his monsters returned to their positions in his hand, and on the field. “And! You can no longer use that spell card for the remainder of the duel!” Bastion hit Jayden with that last line, and I saw Jayden’s eyes widen from shock. “What!? I can’t use polymerization anymore!?” Bastion smirked at Jayden’s reaction. “Compute it any which way you like, you can’t win.”
