1537 Live To Regret It

Huo Yao said nothing. Instead, she sat quietly and continued reading the academic journal.

She would be asking for trouble if she agreed to transfer to the Physics department.

Before long, Prof Rong came back and gestured for Huo Yao to follow him to the office.

“Prof… Teacher, why did you want to see me?”

Huo Yao noticed a look of annoyance on Rong Jun’s face when she wanted to call him professor, so she quickly changed her words. The moment she did it, he instantly looked pleased.

Huo Yao did not know what to say.

Rong Jun was well known for his cold and stern personality. For a moment there, she wondered if they were talking about the same person.

Rong Jun cleared his throat and got straight to his point. “I’m working on variable transformation and I can’t seem to get it right. I’m not sure what went wrong. I know your Math is good, so I was wondering if you could help me check it.”

Huo Yao noticed the sad look on Rong Jun’s face. She paused for a couple of seconds and replied. “I don’t mind looking at it, but I don’t know if I can be of any help.”

Rong Jun raised his brow. “Wu Yue already told me you found your holiday reading easy. In that case, I’m sure this is easy for you as well, right?”

Huo Yao’s lips twitched as she went quiet.

From now on, she had to make a mental note to keep a low profile. Otherwise, she might constantly live in regret.

Rong Jun tended to be an action-driven man, so he raised his hand to check his watch and said, “Since we’re on the topic, why don’t I show it to you now?”

Huo Yao quietly glanced at him and sighed inside. Since she did not have classes today, she nodded and agreed.

Before long, Rong Jun led Huo Yao to the laboratory block.

On their way to the laboratory, they encountered other students in the department. When they saw Prof Rong walking with Huo Yao, they could not help feeling curious about her identity.

When they got to the fourth floor, Rong Jun briefly introduced the laboratory to Huo Yao. As he spoke, he could not help feeling sad that she was not in the Physics department. He should have done more to make her join the department when he could.

After entering the laboratory, two other people could be seen inside.

One of them was none other than Li Chenhui. The other guy looked trustworthy and resembled a typical nerd.

Li Chenhui saw Prof Rong entering the room, so he quickly stood up in front of the computer. “Teacher, did you want to… Hmm… She’s here too.”

He noticed Huo Yao standing behind Rong Jun.

Huo Yao nodded to Li Chenhui. “Hi there.”

Li Chenhui smiled. He pointed at the down-to-earth-looking young man sitting beside him and introduced him. “This is Wen Ping.”

Prof Rong had three disciples: Li Chenhui, Wen Ping, and Ying Qi.

When Huo Yao realized it was Wen Ping, she nodded politely and greeted him. “Nice to meet you.”

It was the first time Wen Ping got to meet Huo Yao in person, so he was caught by surprise. He did not expect her to be so attractive. After snapping out of his astonishment, he quickly acknowledged her.

He did not know what else to say as he stood there uneasily.

“He has a shy personality and doesn’t talk much. Just give it some time,” explained Rong Jun.

Wen Ping cleared his throat without daring to respond.

Huo Yao smiled and nodded. “Got it.”

Rong Jun waved his hand, gestured for Li Chenhui and Wen Ping to continue with their work, and showed Huo Yao to a computer placed on a table nearby.

He turned on the computer and clicked on an algorithm simulator. “Can you take a look at this?”

Huo Yao acknowledged softly and walked forward to stand in front of the computer.
