Having known the intentions of the human, Ebony and Ivory immediately went into action.
Ebony jumped right through the mana pillar and fell directly into Ivory causing them to combine into their grey wolf form.
Although separating allowed insane combos and an edge when facing a single enemy in terms of versatility, their grey wolf form was their strongest.
Not only did they become much stronger and faster when combined, but the strengths of their spells multiplied and allowed them to draw mana from each other to cast very large spells.
With their combined form, their grey fur turned snow white, and the markings blue. The temperature of the environment began dropping to the point that it began affecting the strength of the flames produced by major Reeves and major Gareth.
In an instant, the layer of ice that had prevented the black tortoise from escaping had begun rising. In a matter of seconds, the black tortoise that was in its shell was more than 15 meters high in the air.
For them to properly deal with the black tortoise they had to make sure that it was out of its element because even though it was still in its shell it could still manipulate the earth around it.
“What rank are they?” Major Reeves was flabbergasted by the amount of ice Haiti and Skoll were able to conjure in such a short time.
Nonetheless, the major generals had no plans of letting such an opportunity get to waste, so they immediately moved to the side of Haiti and Skoll before casting their charged spells.

The major problem they had with moving the black tortoise outside the mana pillar was its massive size. Now that Ebony and Ivory had lifted it, all they needed to do was push it off and it would fall off the mana pillar.
With its body off and far away from the ground, the black tortoise could no longer sense its environment, let alone access to manipulating the earth. So it had no other choice than to take its head out of its shell to understand what was going on.
Immediately after its head left the black shell, the evolving tortoise saw explosive flame and wind spells coming its way.
In less than a heartbeat it already understood what their plan was, and as a last-ditch effort, it controlled the floating rocks around it to form a barrier, but it was already too little too late.
The spells from Haiti and Skoll as well as the major generals shattered the earth barrier and blasted the black tortoise off the mana pillar.
BOOM!
The black tortoise crashed into the ground causing the ground to quake for kilometers away.
When the dust cleared, Haiti and Skoll as well as the 4 major generals were already meters away, but they weren’t attacking.
With the absence of the mana pillar, the unbearable pain of evolution had consumed the mind of the black tortoise leaving it basically useless.
If left like this it would end up dying, but seeing how it was writhing in pain while looking at the mana pillar, major Scott wasn’t going to take any chance.
He stretched forth his hand and instantly, a thunderbolt from the thunderstorm immediately shattered through its skull, ending its life.
With the black tortoise dead, Ebony and Ivory immediately left the area and returned to Blake.
“Why do I have the feeling that they would have been able to kill it by themselves.” Major Briggs said causing the rest to think about it.
“The volume of fire and ice that they can generate is beyond scary, especially for their level.” Major Scott said.
‘At the moment they combined and began charging the ice spell, it felt like it was the king of ice.’ Major Briggs said as he recounted how the black tortoise had been lifted.
Although major Briggs’ words sounded silly, the other major generals weren’t laughing at all because they had also felt it.
“Where the hell did he get the artifact from?” Major Gareth couldn’t help but ask.
Apart from their power display, it was more than obvious that they were not regular beasts. The ability to turn from weapon to beast was unheard of, let alone the ability to combine and separate at will.
“My guess is his highness, prince Bryon.” Major Reeves said as he recalled the first time he had seen Blake use the sword.

The mentioning of Bryon immediately killed all thoughts to covet the artifact, but it made them wonder what was the relationship between the special ops commander and the prince for him to have received such a powerful artifact.
With the death of the king rank black tortoise, the mission was basically over. The 4 major generals helped to finish up the few remaining king rank beasts before gathering the corpses and returning to the wall.
The major generals returned to their positions on the wall before sending in their reports.
As for Blake and the other special ops unit, they had returned to their posts to rest, especially since the chances of another beast attack were slim.
“How did it go?” Camilla asked.
“It would have gotten bloody if not for Ebony and Ivory.” Blake went on to narrate the entire operation and how Ebony and Ivory were the MVPs of the mission.
“Thank the heavens for them!” Camilla said wishing she could pet them but they weren’t so welcoming to her.
“I just hope this would be the last of the beast attacks.” Blake said as he let out a helpless sigh.
“We need a vacation after all of this.” Camilla said, but it was only after that he realized the “we” in her sentence.
“We?” Blake couldn’t help but ask.
“Yeah... You don’t have to worry about my family because I will be staying with you throughout.” Camilla said further shocking Blake.
