Chapter 16: Disappearing Suddenly
In order to save her residence, Ella left Christian at the hotel alone and rushed back to the apartment she rented.
The owner of the apartment, a middle aged woman, was already waiting at Ella’s apartment door as if she was sure that Ella would not be able to pay the rent.
“Ma’am...”
Ella gasped for breath as she returned to her apartment in a hurry. If she lost this place, she might not be able to find another place that fit her budget. Even though this place was pretty old, Ella could only afford to rent this one.
Before Ella could catch her breath and calm herself down, the woman had already reached out with her hands on her hips.
“Where is the money?” She asked.
Ella immediately took the money out of her purse and gave it to her without saying anything. She was still busy trying to catch her breath.
