Look at Her Once More Before Leaving (Part Two)
Before the sun came up, the candles in the main hall were burning bright.
Gu ShuBai and Gu JiuGe tidied up thoroughly. When they passed by the Western Wing on their way to the main hall, the two subconsciously stopped.
Following this, the two exchanged a look.
Gu JiuGe was a little embarrassed and quietly coughed, “You go ahead. There’s still time. I will go ahead to the main hall and let father know.”
At the very least, this expedition would take many months and could extend to a year or two. He would definitely want to see Yu Fu before going.
“Thanks.”
Gu ShuBai did not act reserved, handing his sword to him. Turning around, he soared over the Western Wing’s wall…
It was too early. The Western Wing’s gates had not yet been opened.
The granny standing guard overnight heard the noise and walked out with a candle. Seeing that it was Gu ShuBai, she hurried to wake Lian Zhu and Lian Bi, and Gu ShuBai gestured for the two to remain quiet.
“Don’t wake her up. I will leave after seeing her.”
Lian Zhu and Lian Bi understood, placing a dim candle at the foot of Yu Fu’s bed then quietly retreating from the room.
Yu Fu was in a deep sleep. The dim candlelight illuminated her face. Her pink lips were slightly parted, giving her a peaceful and serene appearance.
Since it was the end of spring, she was covered in just a thin silk blanket. Gu ShuBai carefully walked over to the side of the bed and picked up a woolen blanket, placing it on top of the silk blanket.
While sleeping, Yu Fu seemed to notice that something was off and muttered a few words.
He brought his face closer to try and hear what she was saying but only heard her smacking her lips.
Did this little girl not know that with him leaving today, she would not be able to see him for a long time? She was actually able to sleep so soundly.
He plaintively scratched her nose a couple of times then turned and carried the candle toward the door.
“Eldest brother…”
In the end, he woke her up.
Gu ShuBai turned around and saw Yu Fu flip over and mutter with her eyes closed, “Eldest brother, eldest brother.”
It turned out that she was talking in her sleep.
He quietly muttered to himself, “Who knows what’s happening to me in her dream.”
If not for the rush to depart, he really wanted to sit here until the sun came up. When she woke up, he could ask her about her dream.

He dotingly smiled in Yu Fu’s direction then quietly retreated from the room.
“Eldest young sir.”

A unique medicinal smell dragged him back to the present.
He brought the sachet up to his nose, “It doesn’t seem to be a common fragrance inside this sachet. What is inside?”
Yao Lan also did not know, “It was prepared by young miss herself. This servant also does not know what it is.”
“Why did she not give it to me herself?”
“Young miss said that eldest young sir would be leaving before the sun came up. At such a time, she might not be able to get up. Eldest young sir would surely be reluctant to wake her up. If that was the case, she would have this servant give it to you.”
Gu ShuBai smiled.

Based on her usual habits, Yu Fu would only wake up after another two hours.
Lian Zhu listened carefully, “I fear that we won’t be able to go back to sleep. I heard some sound come from inside young miss’ room. Is it possible that she woke up?”
The group entered with a lantern to take a look. Sure enough, Yu Fu was sitting in bed in a complete daze.

She felt her nose. The familiar feeling left her unable to determine whether it was a dream or reality.
Lian Zhu and the others stood to the side. They did not urge her to go back to bed and simply waited for her to lie back down on her own.
Yu Fu suddenly shouted, “Ah, this is bad! What time is it right now? Have the head general and the others set out yet?”
“Young miss did not dream it. Eldest young sir did indeed come, but he has already left. Calculating the time, they should have already set out.”
Yu Fu hastily got out of bed and ran out. Lian Zhu only had time to put an outer garment on her shoulders, “Young miss, put something on before going out!”
If she waited until her clothes were properly put on, he would have already left!
Wrapped in the garment, Yu Fu hastily ran toward the main hall. The only person inside was Qi An, and he was tidying up.
“Steward Qi, where are the head general and the others?”
Seeing that Yu Fu was only wearing her pajamas, Qi An was stunned and subconsciously pointed toward the main gate, “Lord Marquis and the two young sirs have already set out.”
Yu Fu hastily ran out. When she arrived at the gate, gasping for air, she was only able to see the rear of the long column of troops.
