Yin JiYao shrank beneath the table, burying her face between her knees.
Yu Fu’s room was very warm, and seeing that her clothes were very thin, a brazier and a foot stove were brought in; however, not even this was able to warm her.
She hoped that Gu JiuGe would leave and that he would not see her current appearance.
Thinking back to when he was standing at the door, he looked as valiant as ever. He should be matched with the best girl in the world, at the very least, she should be both beautiful and talented, and she should have a noble background.

You possess all of the traits that the girls of this world desire. The minor injury that you have recently sustained will soon get better. Is there any need to be afraid of seeing others? If even you don’t dare to see people, how could any of the other girls in this world?”
Yin JiYao seemed to be a little touched by this, slowly raising her head while keeping a hand over her scar, “Can my scar really be healed? Yu Fu’s medical ability is already so great, but I noticed that her expression after examining my scar was not very good.”

He furrowed his brow, “Just how exactly is Yin Shuo treating you? Tell me without hiding anything.”
Yin JiYao looked hesitant. She did not want to hide anything for Yin Shuo, but she was worried that Gu JiuGe would feel bad on her behalf.
She said: “Since I have already come to Marquis Gu’s Manor, there’s no need to bring up those things. Eldest brother has always acted in his own interest. Even when father was still here, he never gave me much consideration. Now that father is no longer here, how could things get any better with him having complete control over the prime minister’s manor?”
Just as Gu JiuGe was about to speak, he suddenly heard the sound of footsteps approaching, as Lian Bi led Pei’er inside.
She glanced at Yin JiYao then bowed, “Second young sir, this is young miss Yin’s maidservant, Pei’er. She just entered through the manor’s rear entrance. She said that young miss Yin ordered her to come, thus this servant led her here.”
Pei’er saw Yin JiYao and immediately stepped forward, as the master and servant pair came together in a tearful embrace.
“Young miss, this servant thought that I would never see young miss ever again! It’s fortunate that after young miss left the manor, the manor became extremely chaotic. That allowed this servant to escape from the back of the manor!”
Pei’er suddenly noticed that there were signs of the scar on her forehead having been touched, “Young miss, what happened to the wound on your head? Did you bump into something?”
Yin JiYao quickly shook her head, “It’s fine. Princess ZhenJiang just examined it. That’s why it was touched.”
Lian Bi stood to the side and watched the master and servant pair. Gu JiuGe waved to her, “Lian Bi, can I trouble you with getting some warm food. I see that those two are both cold and hungry. I fear that they won’t be able to hold on if they don’t get something to eat.”
Lian Bi was stunned then quickly came to her senses, “Yes, second young sir. This servant will go and make preparations immediately.”
She kept looking back while leaving and had no choice but to leave after the doors were shut and she could no longer see inside.

Yin JiYao bowed in thanks, and Pei’er copied this gesture. Gu JiuGe moved to stop her.
“There’s no need to be so courteous. Please sit. You still haven’t answered my question. How exactly has Yin Shuo been treating you?”
