Chapter 13 – The Si Household (2)
Renowned physicians had long since diagnosed and declared that Si Bai would not live past eighteen. The Si household, however, spared no efforts in searching for means to extend his lifespan, and this clearly showed how much the Si household treasured him.
Ye Ling had no idea why Ye Qingtang brought up the subject but he replied accordingly: “Si Bai’s condition doesn’t seem to be stable at present. I’ve heard that the Si household had even invited Dr. Xu, but there had been no significant improvements.”
Dr. Xu was this region’s widely acclaimed physician. Countless people had sought his medical advice; however, he rarely handled a patient personally and saving a life was all up to his whims.
One could only imagine the expenses involved for the Si household to engage Dr. Xu’s services.
Ye Qingtang nodded contemplatively and said: ”Father, there’s something I have to buy, I’ll be going out for a while.”
Ye Ling became slightly astounded and observed Ye Qingtang with a blank stare.
