Reinhard's focus shifted towards the outside, and Nathasia took this opportunity to run towards her parents.
Reinhard didn't care where Nathasia was running towards since, in his perspective, he had already caught her, and she was trapped.
But first, he had to see if those who came in those jeeps were the ones he was thinking. So he went outside.
Laina had woken up by now and was shocked and worried to see Nathasia was still here. She was about to shout at Nathasia when Nathasia spoke first frantically, "Ma, not now! We have to help Marcus! I can't help him up by myself. Please come!"
Laina quickly turned around and saw how bloodied Marcus was and felt quite bad seeing how such a quiet and nice young man was looking so pitiful now.
She wanted to tell Nathasia to run again, but now she knew that it was not possible anymore, especially when she heard those newcomers who might have surrounded the place already.
So she decided to at least check on Marcus along with William and Nathasia. Right now, staying and facing everything together seemed to be the best option.
As they examined Marcus, Nathasia couldn't help but sob while turning back to glance at the door frantically to see when they were going to enter again.
"His ribs seemed to be broken, and he is still conscious. Marcus, can you hear us? We…" William didn't know what to say, and he badly wanted to save Marcus since he felt that he wouldn't last long in this condition.
'Damn it! Why am I so weak...why can't I use my powers...no...I can't let anything happen to me…' Marcus inwardly mumbled as he could only see a blurred vision of three crouching before him while only being able to hear them vaguely.
"Reinhard, good work!" A man's rough voice resounded across the hall as Nathasia heard many footsteps entering the house.
When she turned around, she was frightened to see at least a dozen soldiers and a man in different army clothes walking in the front.
She guessed that he must be some high-ranked officer considering how he seemed more serious and stern than the others and had a lofty posture.
Reinhard did a stiff salute as this officer came in, "Colonel Sanders, thank you for your praise, sir!"
"At ease, Reinhard. Now pack 'em up and put them in the jeep. What are you waiting for?" Sanders commanded.
Reinhard felt frustrated that he couldn't enjoy anymore since this guy was here. He wondered who called in for backup and felt that it was probably Ray and couldn't help but curse at him inwardly even though he was dead.
However, he didn't show anything on his face since Sanders was ranked higher than him and was a powerful Ascended one as well with psychic powers. More powerful than Vitaly as well.
"Right away, sir. But we don't need that guy over there, right? I was about to kill him when he tried to stop me from completing my mission."
Sanders said casually, "Yeah. Put him out of his misery then." He then turned towards the dozen soldiers with guns and conveyed some instructions to them.
Reinhard smiled as he walked towards where Marcus was lying and saw that he was surrounded by Nathasia and her parents.
Seeing Reinhard walking towards them with an evil smile, Nathasia quickly searched around the floor for anything and found a metal spoon.
She quickly took it and desperately focused as the metal spoon started to change its shape till it became a pointy needle with a tip as sharp as a knife.
"Natty?" Laina asked worriedly after guessing what she was up to. But she didn't tell her to stop since she was confident that they needed her alive and wouldn't do anything to her for now.
Nathasia stood up and said to Reinhard, "Stop. Otherwise, I will stab you!"
Marcus wanted to move badly, seeing how Reinhard was coming in his direction, and could feel his killing intent.
He knew if he didn't do something, then he would probably die here, which was the last thing he wanted, especially when he had loved ones waiting for his return.
"Haha, are you this stupid to unable to see what is going on? You even had the guts to come back here. Tsk, tsk, thankfully you made my job easier," Reinhard smirked while feeling it a pity that he wouldn't be able to enjoy this beauty.
Nathasia swung her hand fiercely to prevent Reinhard from coming closer, but the tip of the metal needle only left behind a white mark on Reinhard's arm.
"Reinhard, stop wasting time. We have other work to do, especially when we got information that the Crimson Devil was around here somewhere."
Reinhard's expression became hard as he extended his hand to capture Nathasia while Laina and William got up and were about to resist.
Sander's words exploded inside Marcus' mind like a bomb as his eyes suddenly widened.
'No...Sofie...I can't...I can't...let anything happen to her!'
Reinhard's hand froze when he suddenly felt like the air around him underwent some kind of change...for some reason, he was feeling chills all over his skin.
He then saw Marcus looking at him with a dark gaze that made him feel quite uncomfortable. So he decided to kill him first before capturing the others.
"NO!" Nathasia bitterly tried to resist, but Reinhard pushed her and her parents away towards the other side.
She knew Reinhard was about to kill Marcus, and that was the last thing she wanted, especially when he was like this because of her.
But Reinhard had pushed her and her parents too roughly, making her fall on the floor along with William and Laina while helplessly seeing Reinhard about to stomp on Marcus' face.
"Just die already, motherfucker!" Reinhard said in an irked tone as he brought down his foot.
"NO!!" Nathasia shouted and closed her eyes in panic, not wanting to see what was about to happen after.
But a hand suddenly caught his leg, and Reinhard's eyes widened when he realized that he was unable to wriggle his leg out from Marcus' grip.
Even moving an inch seemed impossible.
He felt an ominous feeling in his heart, but then he suppressed it, thinking that Marcus might be using all his strength just before his death and felt that since he was an Ascended one, this could be possible.
"Damn it! Let go, you mutt!"
But the unnatural grip over his leg still made him worried, and so he bent down and decided to strangle him to death.
But just as his hand was about to touch Marcus' neck, Marcus suddenly pressed his fingers together, making a cracking sound of bones being crushed to paste, which not only shocked Reinhard but Nathasia and the others as well.
"AAAAH!!!" Reinhard let out a hoarse roar of pain as he fell sideways while accidentally pulling off Marcus' scarf.
Even though the pain of his broken leg was excruciating, he couldn't help having his eyes become as wide as saucers when he saw Marcus' face as he fell.
