168 Vent Their Anger

After feeding Chuchu her medicine, Aunt Hui covered Chuchu with the blanket and stuffed every corner of it.

Chuchu felt that everything was just a dream. Her head felt heavy, and her body felt warm, so she fell asleep very quickly.

Chuchu slept under the blanket, and her face was covered in sweat.

When Qu Zhi returned home in the early hours of the morning, she was shocked. Everyone was awake except for Chuchu.

No one could fall asleep after such torment.

“Chuchu caught a cold. She just came back from the hospital and fell asleep.” Aunt Hui patted Qu Zhi’s shoulder. “When I woke up in the middle of the night, I saw her sleeping on the sofa without a blanket. She’s probably cold.”

She must have watched TV. This naughty girl didn’t have a good memory. Liang Wen laughed in his heart.

Qu Zhi gently sat down beside Chuchu. Chuchu’s little face was red, and she didn’t sleep well. Qu Zhi touched Chuchu’s small forehead. It was still a little warm. Chuchu’s eyebrows were furrowed into a small knot as she mumbled.

Qu Zhi’s heart couldn’t help but soften.

Why did she suddenly fall sick? Or was it because the seasons had changed these few days and she didn’t wear warm clothes? Last time, Chuchu said that her old clothes were a little tight. It seemed that she would have to buy a few sets of thicker clothes for the child after she was done with her work this afternoon.

She gently kissed Chuchu’s soft little face.

She was too tired, and she felt so guilty that she lacked strength.

Qu Zhi only felt hungry and tired. If she didn’t eat something now, she wouldn’t be able to sleep.

Aunt Hui knew her best.

Aunt Hui made her a bowl of plain noodles and put two eggs in it. It was her favorite kind of soft-boiled eggs. After the meal, Qu Zhi felt that every pore on her body was relaxed and comfortable.

Aunt Hui also made a bowl for Liang Wen, and Liang Wen poured it into his mouth. Aunt Hui’s noodles were still the best. It was more flavorful than the fish and meat outside. Having a bowl in the morning would make one feel energetic the whole day.

The bathwater was ready. Qu Zhi picked up a magazine and lay down to read it. As she read, she became dazed, and the world in front of her started to spin.

After an unknown period of time, Qu Zhi finally woke up. However, she probably didn’t sleep for long, so the water was still warm. Fortunately, she didn’t sleep for long. Otherwise, it would be troublesome if she caught a cold. The company still needed her.

She could vaguely hear Liang Wen talking on the phone outside. His voice was very serious, but it didn’t seem like he was discussing business.

When she opened the door, Liang Wen even mysteriously put a finger to his mouth, indicating for her not to speak. He was talking to the other end of the phone. He sounded very respectful, but he was actually smiling.

Qu Zhi was still in a daze, so she didn’t want to interfere in this matter. She sat quietly on the sofa and spread out her small notebook for bookkeeping on the coffee table. She could only dry her hair after Liang Wen called her.

After Liang Wen hung up the phone, Qu Zhi stood up and ran towards the bathroom, but Liang Wen pulled her back.

“What’s wrong?” Qu Zhi glanced at him indifferently.

“If you don’t dry your hair in time, you’ll get a headache.” Qu Zhi had migraines in her previous life. Although she couldn’t find anything wrong with it, it still hurt so much that she had to take painkillers to recover.

“You know what? It is that Director Liu!” Qu Zhi had never seen Liang Wen this excited before. The last time he was this excited was when he had completed his first project and earned his first sum of money when he was young. He was like a little boy asking for credit.

He was quite cute.

Qu Zhi felt a little interested. “And then?”

“He’s gone in,” Liang Wen pursed his lips and smiled at her smugly.

“So?” Qu Zhi pretended to be confused.

Liang Wen had been unhappy with that Director Liu for a long time. On the surface, he was clean and unconcerned but secretly accepting gifts. No one could be angry, but he still had to give gifts.

Where did the divine power come from and get him in?

“We’ve helped the people vent their anger.” Liang Wen placed his hands on his waist and let out a long sigh.

Qu Zhi suddenly felt like he was acting in a skit. She laughed so hard that she couldn’t straighten her back.

Sisi was sitting in the baby chair and eating her supplementary food obediently. When she saw her mother laughing, she began to clap her hands.

Qu Zhi laughed even harder.
